“You told the hotel it’s our honeymoon.”
Alex shrugs, in that carefree and charming way he does, as if certain no reasonable person could ever be mad at him.
The thought of spending a week sleeping alongside Alex and not being able to reach out and touch him — to caress his skin or to run his fingers through Alex’s hair while he sleeps, admiring the way his unruly curls will fall over the pillow – is a tragedy.

“If you just step aside for a second here, I’ll quickly pay for my ride and I’ll be on my way.”
“Yes, well, I’m afraid I can’t let you do that,” Henry answers, still fidgeting with his bag and exchanging looks with the rental booth guy.
“Come on, it will only take a minute and then you’ll have all the time you need,” Alex tries to maintain his patience.
“Excuse me, you arrived here in a tizzy and demanded to cut in line. I am simply trying to explain to you that that won’t be happening, as I will be taking the last available jet ski.”
“The what now? How is that possible?” Alex turns to the booth. The guy occupying it looks like he’s barely eighteen and in no way on top of the supply and demand situation on a beautiful, sunny day in mid-August.
“Sorry, dude,” the guy mutters, “we’re just all out, nothing I can do.”
OR, Alex has some damage control to do, but a certain blonde has other plans.

The first voice’s owner puts all of the world’s frustration and disgust into this one syllable, and Alex feels it like a blow to his chest.
“Would it kill them to button up their shirts?” the same voice adds.
Fucking Brits. Alex can bet they are oh, so sophisticated, they sent a boys’ choir that usually performs in churches or something equally ridiculous to show that they are better and more cultured than everyone else. Fun hating conceited assholes. Grey must be their favourite colour.
