Good point, at 70, you'd hope other things would be more pressing
This is my #6666 post on this site, and it made me realize that what they are trying to do when they get all these painful procedures done is to try to stop time. I mean it is our way of trying to be unchanging like GOD on a superficial level, in that it terrifies us more & more so it is only on the facade that we are frozen in place—when really we are crumbling on the inside at the thought of losing all we have come to expect in order to have something to look forward to #hope. I think that is why I find it is so phony to say that the brevity of life is where we will find purpose & meaning; bc unless what you really mean is that it completely empties out all meaning & purpose for all the things in life that we have been fighting for. And as such will embrace GOD & all HE stands for, HIS promises to save us from death itself & give us eternal life—then I dunno where you left the train of thought to hop off & say ta da: (Go chase after your made-up meaning & purpose)
Check this out, GOD even responded to my radom gif selection as Abraham in his old age . . lol, it tickles me when GOD does that!!!!!!!

It Gets Worse... France is OUTRAGED
WHOA! This is a lot worse than you're saying Ryan..
France's annual deficit hit 5.8% of GDP last year, totalling €168.6-billion. That is nearly twice the limit set by the European Union for member states.
Fears of a French Government Collapse Send Its Borrowing Costs Soaring
France, a cornerstone economy in Europe, is rapidly becoming one of its weakest links as a political and debt crisis loom. Fears that the government of President Emmanuel Macron of France may collapse for a second time in nine months amid a looming debt crisis stoked alarm in financial markets on Tuesday. Investors hammered the French stock market and pushed up the country’s sovereign borrowing costs to among the highest in the eurozone.
The turmoil mounted after Mr. Macron’s prime minister, Francois Bayrou, issued a surprise call on Monday for a parliamentary vote of confidence on Sept. 8 to address the “gravity” of the problem. France’s debt and deficit have ballooned virtually unchecked to one of the highest levels in Europe.French opposition parties doubled down on Tuesday on threats to topple the government, vowing to vote against a budget that Mr. Bayrou will present at the Sept. 8 session to slash 44 billion euros from the deficit immediately. Part of the budget involves cutting two national holidays, which has caused nationwide fury.
The deficit was €168.6 billion, or 5.8 percent of GDP in 2024, putting France in worse fiscal straits than Greece, Spain and Italy. The debt exploded in the first quarter of this year to €3.3 trillion, or more than 114% of the country's GDP. Mr. Bayrou has warned if nothing is done, debt interest will become the government’s largest expense by 2029, ballooning to €100 billion per year.
Investors are spooked because the ouster of Mr. Bayrou would be the third major political upheaval in France after Mr. Macron unexpectedly dissolved Parliament last summer, just before the Olympic Games in Paris, in a bid to prevent Marine Le Pen’s far-right National Rally party from gaining more political power. That maneuver backfired, leading to a divided Parliament and a new prime minister, Michel Barnier, whose government fell in December after a failed attempt to put France’s finances back on track. Mr. Bayrou was sworn in shortly afterward and made attacking the deficit the central plan of his government.

Make YouTube Less Annoying by Changing These Eight Settings
Don't let the algorithm define your watching habits.
YouTube used to be this cool website where you could watch hours of entertaining videos from other people like you, with few interruptions. Of late, though, its management has made a series of decisions that make it harder for folks like me to enjoy the site. From shoving YouTube Shorts into every corner of the site to playing videos in lower resolutions, there are a bunch of things making YouTube an objectively worse website and app than it used to be. Fortunately, you can undo some of the damage to get a better YouTube experience. Here's a list of settings you can tweak and tools you can use to fix the worst of YouTube's annoyances.
1.] Fork Over $14/Mo For Premium
I really dislike telling people to pay up for a better experience, but YouTube's aggressive monetization has left us with little choice. Fortunately, YouTube Premium is one of the best digital subscriptions you can get, so if you can spare $14 per month and you use YouTube a lot, then you should get it. I recommend it just to get rid of ads, but it also lets you download videos in high quality. If you're really short on cash, though, you can see if these ad-free YouTube apps still work. There's even a YouTube Premium Lite subscription at $8/month, which significantly reduces the ads you'll encounter, and may be worth it for some people.
2.] Enable helpful privacy options
On the YouTube app, you can pause tracking on your watch history and search history, plus disable ad personalization. These options will improve your privacy when you use YouTube, but they may have certain side effects such as seeing less relevant ads or not seeing your feed on the YouTube homepage. I can live with these trade-offs, because they reduce the time I spend watching videos, but if you value YouTube's suggested videos, then you shouldn't pause watch history.
To enable this, go to the YouTube app and tap the profile icon in the top-right corner. Now, go to Settings > Manage all history. In the Controls tab, you can turn off your YouTube History. You can also tap Manage history in the same tab and clear all your data there. Use the My Ad Center section to disable personalized ads, too. When you're done, take a minute to go through everything in YouTube Settings > Your data in YouTube to ensure that no traces of saved YouTube data are left.
3.] Improve Picture Quality
YouTube sometimes defaults to lower quality videos, and honestly, that can get annoying really fast, especially when all of our devices have such nice displays these days. You can fix that by going to YouTube Settings > Video quality preferences. Tap On Wi-Fi and select Higher picture quality. This will play videos in a higher resolution by default, at least while you're connected to a network.
4.] Fix important playback settings
I really dislike YouTube's habit of autoplaying video previews when I'm browsing on the app. You can disable that by going to YouTube Settings > Playback. On this page, disable Auto-play next video, Show in-video info cards, and Playback in feeds. That should fix the most egregious of YouTube's automatic interruptions.
5.] Reduce notification spam
If you prefer to receive fewer notifications, then you should try tweaking your YouTube notification settings. Go to YouTube Settings > Notifications and disable notifications for everything you don't need. I prefer to disable notifications globally via my iPhone's settings, but doing it via the YouTube app lets you receive certain notifications, while disabling the more annoying ones.
6.] Keep your subscriptions private
For most people, I recommend not revealing your YouTube subscriptions on your profile. Random strangers need not know which videos you're interested in, and you can tweak that easily via YouTube's website. This option didn't show up on YouTube's iPhone app for some reason, so I recommend logging in to YouTube on a browser and going to Settings > Privacy. This opens YouTube's account privacy settings page, where you can enable Keep all my subscriptions private.
7.] Use an extension to change hidden YouTube settings
My colleague Justin Pot recently wrote about Untrap, an excellent extension that lets you hide all the junk on YouTube. It works with all popular browsers and lets you clean up your YouTube feed in just a few clicks. You can use it to hide a bunch of things, including YouTube Shorts, suggested videos, live chats, and much more. It lets you make around 300 tweaks to the site.
8.] Try third-party apps for an algorithm-free YouTube experience
If you're tired of being sucked into YouTube's algorithm trap, you can use third-party apps to be free of the feed entirely. My colleague Khamosh Pathak wrote about Play and a couple of other alternatives that help you do just that. Depending on your platform and preferences, you can try Play, Unwatched for YouTube, or NewPipe to gain more control over what you watch and not let algorithms define your watching habits.
I only ever use the title as a catch phrase, not my genre, tends to lack the profundity I look for. Jahns seems to still be mentally stable despite having to take it for the team & continue subjecting his senses to the likes of all these sub-par shows, so I guess the least we can do is react to his analysis. Thank you I appreciate all you do, I certainly couldn't without needing to go out to sea.
Then again, I do like murder mysteries, so I guess thrillers are day old reheated fft in the microwave, it has nuked out all essential nutrients that would satiate our body's cravings: Murder Mystery sans plot & character development, just straight-up action with a hefty serving of fear which means viewers are going to need to pay heavily later by way of dissatisfaction & zero growth.
But we also have The Menu (2022), which I think I will eventually bring myself to watch bc it has some sort of wow factor to it. I just don't want to get nightmares, or screw up my sleeping pattern which is something I had less than a year ago; didn't want to go to sleep bc of all the nightmares.
I like actors who can play the tormented/conflicted artist, which I saw from your review of Captain America you don't...? Harrison Ford. A few days ago heard an author likes to test run his ideas in Q&A to see the receptivity to his new book, it's his sneaky way of tweaking. I find it humorous bc I've seen strange answers to questions. You're like what did I just say to get that..? But I again assumed they were bored of answering the same thing over & over again. Do you wonder why they call it brain rot?
I still wonder why directors pitch to make a movie, when all they plan to do is to get pigeonholed into recreating the same "pstyck" (rut) they have repeatedly fallen back on. I mean actors get typecast but I did not know directors did it to themselves on purpose. I am thinking Matt Groening changing it up all the time just bc that is what creatives do. I have started to coalesce a theory on this: Pride
Luke Rota: Yes, Chef! The Menu is a delicious course of dark comedic satire I absolutely ate all up! This is honestly one of the best theatrical experiences I’ve had in years… I would even say it’s now one of my favourite films of all time too! The Menu gave me one of the most strangest viewing experiences I think I’ve ever had… As a point of reference, I went in completely blind, not having watched the trailer & avoided any marketing for the film, and I’m glad I did that! Everyone should experience this film by themselves & not let anyone else influence their opinion.
Serving up delectable thrills accompanied by the perfect blend of dark humour, The Menu is indeed a feast you don’t want to miss! My jaw was honestly on the floor numerous times, and I was just amazed at the sheer creativity, all the way to it’s unforgettable finale!
The Menu is a tasteful treat that manages to be gripping, satirical, jarring, and hauntingly brilliant. As a huge foodie myself, I loved the choice whenever a dish was served, it would be highlighted with it’s name and the ingredients.
I honestly got so giddy during those scenes like the food nerd I am! The Menu has something fresh and interesting to say about the tired conversation surrounding the marriage between art & artist. With a script tighter than the meticulously crafted Chef‘s menu, the film makes you look around and find yourself in all the characters; the artist, the art, and those who are (Literally) consuming it…
Apart from it’s rich screenplay and magnificent production design, the film also benefits from having a star-studded cast. Ralph Fiennes is absolutely brilliant as the Chef, making Gordon Ramsay look like a pussycat! Anya Taylor-Joy is terrific and manages to bring something completely different to the table…(Literally!) Her character is the perfect audience surrogate amongst a sea of deliberately unlikeable characters! Overall, The Menu is a delicious slice of social satire, with every ingredient working in harmony to create a truly outstanding film, sure to leave you feeling satisfied. It’s compelling, wickedly smart and surprisingly funny! The Menu is chef’s kiss! 👌
I find this rxn video equally troubling as the ppl who assume women are the source of all their problems, as he addresses incels as being s/o who exudes the energy of a gas-station hotdog, sad/sweaty/confused..lol, that's quite the description, especially after watching The Sweet Life (2016) a few days ago, which tells the story of two strangers who individually contemplate jumping off a bridge, quietly despondent, despite being perfectly able bodied ppl. And as the show unravels the triggers each person has stored up inside, and the quirky ways they cope with how hard life is in light of the private trauma they have endured. They are somehow connecting on a deeper level than most, managing to save one another in little & big ways despite all the bad choices they make on their road trip.
It is one of those understated yet great depictions of life, realistic movie & cast, I recommend it. Hope in the darkness, this paints such a beautiful picture | shamebats
