"It should have lasted 6 hours"
Those were the wise words of Kirra aka The Princess of Oz. She was referring to the film The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1, which we saw this evening. That’s right! Saw it a whole 2 days before it’s release in America!! No spoilers included in this article!
The Verdict: Amazing film, terrible ending!
The movie was great! I loved the way that we can see how everyone has changed since the incident in the arena. The one thing that had me dying of laughter throughout the film was the way the directors brought Effie Trinket to life through her odd fashion choices, as usual. But really though, every scene that she was included in made me laugh because of her clothes and opinions on her clothes. J-Law was amazing, as with any other performance (The Hanging Tree song is going to be stuck with me forever). But Peeta is the one that stood out to me this time. Whoever worked with the make-up and/or CGI on Peeta’s appearance (described in the book) deserves a medal for being awesome. Not kidding, the medal should say “This is a medal for being awesome!”
I, as most other fans, was curious to know how the filmmakers were going to take the book and divide it into 2 movies. My biggest question was how Part 1 would end! Well, my questions were answered tonight and it was such a shock! There was no predicting the ending whatsoever! So go ahead and give it your best shot. I highly doubt you’ll see it coming. Kirra and I definitely didn’t!! The way the filmmakers did it was terrible but ingenious. It’s terrible for the person watching because you will literally say, “was that the end? Is that all?” And guess what, it is! Which makes it ingenious.
So to the people reading this, go see the film if you haven’t already! It was worth my 5€70 and I hope you’ll find that it’s worth your equivalent! If/when you’ve seen it message me with how you thought the ending was. I really need someone other than Kirra to talk to it about because we’re both on the verge of insanity. I hope to hear from my american followers on November 21st!
