Fun facts: Ryoji's clothing was an attempted combination of Thanatos and the Nyx Avatar's designs, with a little bit of Ryoji himself thrown in for flavor. The flowers in Makoto's flower crown are phlox flowers ("our souls are united" in hanakotoba), and the flowers on his robes are forget-me-nots ("true love" and "memories" in hanakotoba)!

On one end, the fact that the one pushing Makoto back into life again and finding the spark of meaning, beyond nihilism, in his impact and connections with his friends, being the literal incarnation of Death itself, is not only thematically brilliant, but full of symbolism of how it’s the unavoidable face of death and the end that shows us what truly holds meaning in our life and what we should cherish before we die

And on the other end, it makes Ryoji look gay as hell
