Guess who just spent 20 minutes in my bed crying because I watched the Rick Rypien tribute video
This is how I will remember you, the youthful guy with a big heart who who would walk through fire for those you cared so much for. The man who was loyal and proud to give blood for what mattered to him, his teammates and brothers. The guy would would devote his time and heart for the kids who looked up to him and needed his help. You are always going to be an inspiration to the lives you touched, directly or not. Your fight is over now, you can rest in peace. I love you. We all do.

Today he would have been 32. I will always consider him my hero and I will forever be grateful for everything you have unknowingly done for me. Your passion, energy, and heart has always inspired me and your fight has helped me through my own struggles. Thank you.

Because of his story, along with Wade Belak and Derek Boogaard, and Kevin Bieksa’s support of mindcheck.ca, I was able to recognize my anxiety symptoms and get help. I still have bad days, but I’m doing so much better now with therapy and medication. Without mindcheck, I don’t know where I’d be.
