A messy counter top lead to messy production, at least in a barista’s line of work. Caleb reached for the receipt that had been soaking in the drops of coffee that had sporadically spread itself from the morning rush and tried to make out it’s order. He scoffed under his breath from the complexity of the order and lashed out the cup before the customer had time to nitpick at whatever he had ruined about their morning. With the rush slowing down, he received an order that had been familiar to him ever since he started work at the shop a couple months ago. Glancing up from the receipt, he was able to put a face to the order, yet noticed something different about it. As the woman made her way to the other end of the counter, he wiped his hands on the tacky, purple apron that was given to him as a uniform and reached for a to-go cup. “No double shot, today, huh?” He questioned with a quick glance at the female before continuing to prepare her drink. “Work must be taking it easy on you.”
