ᘛ When Ryusui first sees you, he is immediately intrigued, not in a quiet way too. Once he has his eyes set on you, it’s hard for him to turn away.
ᘛ He treats pursuing you as a challenge, not because your necessarily ‘hard to get’ but he instead sees it as a goal to make you his. He believes your worth winning.
ᘛ There wont be a moment where he isn’t complementing you- it can be over the smallest things whether that be your intelligence or the way you did your hair today.
ᘛ His flirting game is…unique to say the least, and also painfully obvious. Ryusui will constantly being trying to get your attention, and you wont catch a break of it. He will also do anything in his power to make you blush, watching your rosy cheeks and the way yoyu hide your face never fails to make him melt.
ᘛ Gifts are often and tend to be very pricey, he will simply hand it to you, and before you can say a word about the price, he simply flashes you a grin and a “dont overthink it, i wanted you to have it.”
ᘛ Heavy on acts of service when he takes you out on 'platonic dates', he will carry your bags whenever you go out shopping, he is paying for everything of course 😽 it may or may not also be the perfect opportunity to show his strength off.
ᘛ Once he finds out you may like him back he plays it cool, but is screaming internally. Ryusui definitely overthinks it slightly though, wondering if it’s really true.
ᘛ When he finally decides to ask you out, he asks in the most romantic way possible- flowers, chocolate and an expensive necklace smirking, but deep down he is fearing rejection. Of course you reciprocate those feelings, because who wouldn’t fall in love with Ryusui Nanami?
Ryusui x Y/n (gender neutral reader) angst to fluff
Y/n crosses the courtyard of the Kingdom of Science, their sharp eyes narrowing as they fall upon Ryusui. He’s leaning casually against the stone railing, his golden hair catching the sunlight like strands of silk. Beside him stands a girl Y/n doesn’t recognize, giggling at something he says, nudging his arm playfully—Ryusui doesn't pull away.
The scene churns unease in their chest, gnawing at their insecurities.
Everyone warned me, didn’t they? Ryusui’s greed knows no bounds, money, oil, clothes, the moon, the stars, the sea, the land, and the attention of anyone willing to give it.
Y/n forces themself to turn away, their jaw tight. “What an idiot,” they mutter under their breath, quickening their steps before Ryusui can notice them.
For the next few days, Y/n keeps their distance. They busy themself with work, training with Kohaku, or helping Senku with experiments. Ryusui tries to approach them several times, but they always manage to slip away, their heart aching with each avoidance.
Finally, Ryusui corners them in the workshop, his eyes blazing with frustration. “Y/n, what in the world is going on with you?”
They glance at him before returning to their task. “Nothing, I’m fine.”
He bends down to catch their eye. “You’ve been avoiding me for days.”
They finally face him, crossing their arms. “I’ve been busy.”
“Busy?” He scoffs, stepping closer. “Don’t insult my intelligence. You’ve been running from me. Now, tell me what I could have possibly done wrong.”
Y/n hesitates, their resolve wavering under the intensity of his gaze, but they steal themself. “I’m surprised you even noticed. I thought you’d be too busy entertaining your new… friend.” they said, sarcasm dripping from every word.
“The girl in the courtyard.” Their voice sharpens, each word laced with the jealousy they try to suppress. “The pretty redhead—bats her eyes a lot—wears low cut dresses, doesn’t understand personal space.”
He raises an eyebrow. “You mean Holly? She asked about the boat, you know I can't ignore questions about boats.”
Y/n scoffs, their nails digging into their palms. “Yes, I am aware of your lack of self control.”
Ryusui sighs, his expression hardens. “Oh, come off it, you’re being unreasonable. I would never cheat on you, Y/n.”
Anger coursing like a flame through their veins. “Unreasonable!?” Y/n slams the notebook they were using closed. “This coming from the man who wants everything and everyone, forgive me for thinking fidelity might be difficult for you!”
He flinches at their words, anger flaring in his eyes. “You think so little of me?! We were just talking, Y/n!”
The feeling of being belittled and dismissed becomes too much as they stand there alone under his gaze. “I think,” they say, their voice trembling, “that… that I can’t do this right now!”
They storm past him, their heart shattering at the sound of his voice calling after them.
---
The next day, Y/n devises a plan to get even and hopefully teach him a lesson, make him understand how they felt with some first hand experience.
Y/n and Kohaku sit beside each other near the training grounds waiting for the signal from Amaryllis.
Kohaku leans towards Y/n. “Are you really going to go through with this?”
“Yup.” Y/n smirks.
Kohaku shakes her head, though a grin tugs at her lips. “You’re playing with fire.”
“Good.”
Y/n sees Amaryllis give the signal.
They get up and walk over to Kinro while he’s practising spear moves on a target. “Hey, can I train with you today?”
He seems taken aback but recovers quickly. “Yes, of course. It is the duty of a trained guard to instruct those wishing to learn defence.”
Y/n and Kinro begin their training—they already know how to fight but Kinro doesn't need to know that.
When Ryusui approaches the training grounds soon after they begin, he stops dead in his tracks.
Y/n can feel Ryusui’s gaze burning into them, but they pretend not to notice. Their voice is sweet, almost saccharine. “Kinro, can you help me with my stance, it doesn't feel right?”
“Alright,” Kinro replies, his tone flat but polite.
He stands behind Y/n, guiding their feet apart and positioning their arms.
Ryusui strides toward them. “Y/n.”
They finally look at him, their expression feigning innocence. “Oh, Ryusui.” they turn to face him, “Shouldn’t you be off talking to Holly about boats or something.”
His smile is tight, his voice low. “Let's go have a little chat over there,” he points to an empty tent far away from prying eyes and ears, “Now.”
Ryusui pulls them aside, his grip firm. Y/n drops their spear in front of a stunned looking Kinro.
Kinro steps forward immediately, his grip firm on his spear. “Ryusui,” he says, his voice low and measured, “release them. Now.” His golden-brown eyes narrow, the weight of his duty evident in his stance. “I will escalate this if I have to.”
Y/n halts their steps and glances over their shoulder, touched by Kinro’s concern. They shake their head, “It’s fine, Kinro,” They say, their voice steady despite the turmoil in their chest. “But thank you.” They offer him a strained smile.
Kinro relaxes his stance and nods his understanding. Y/n and Ryusui continue walking towards the tent.
When they reach their destination Ryusui spins them around to face him. His eyes blaze with anger and something deeper—something raw and vulnerable. “Is this some kind of scheme to make me angry, am I right?”
“What do you mean?” Y/n asks, tilting their head. “I just asked Kinro about training, you know he can’t ignore a question about training.”
He scoffs. “It looked like a lot more than just talking to me! What did you think you’re doing letting him touch you like that?!” His voice sharpens, his frustration boiling over.
A mirthless laugh breaks through them. “Oh yeah, what about when Holly was feeling you up?! What were you doing letting her touch you!?”
His eyes roll in annoyance. “She didn’t feel me up, she barely even touched my arm! I don’t see what the big deal is about her and I simply talking!” He runs a hand through his hair in frustration.
Their composure cracks, their voice rising. “The big deal is that you didn’t pull away!” A little sob breaks through their words. “Do you know how hard it is to love someone like you, Ryusui? To feel like you’re enough for someone that always wants more? And then to be called unreasonable for being a little insecure.”
Ryusui freezes, mouth open in shock, the weight of their words hitting him like a wave. “Y/n…”
They hold up a finger to stop him talking. “Don’t,” With a shaky breath, they can feel their anger giving way to the pain they’ve been hiding. “I know I should have talked to you about it instead of avoiding you, but you make it so difficult sometimes. You have no idea how hard it is to feel special to someone that wants everything?”
There’s a deep sadness in his eyes, they start to feel guilty for being the one to put it there.
Ryusui steps closer. “Y/n,” he cups their face in his hands, “you are my everything.”
They look up at him, a few stray tears escape their eyes. “It doesn't feel that way.”
Ryusui wipes their tears away with his thumb. “I know I'm not good at relationship stuff yet, but I promise I am trying. Everyone before you only cared about the money, the status. This is new to me, but I promise I’ll do better. I love you more than I’ve loved anyone, more than I thought I could love anything. You’re the first person that I can remember who really loves me.” he kisses their cheek, “I’m still learning, I didn’t mean to make you feel neglected. I will do better, I promise.”
Their heart aches at the sincerity in his voice, but they hold his gaze, searching for any hint of deception—and find none.
“I love you too,” they whisper, their voice trembling.
He kisses their forehead. “And I think you were right about Holly,” he said sheepishly, “I didn’t notice at first—I got tunnel vision about the boat when we were talking—but I see it now. I’m sorry. I’ll never talk to her again.”
“Maybe I should practice sparring with her next,” Y/n mutters darkly.
Ryusui grins, leaning in. “You’d obliterate her in seconds, my love. And as charming as ‘accomplice to murder’ sounds, I’d rather avoid that title. Am I wrong?”
“You are very much correct.”
Ryusui chuckles. He holds them closer, giving the top of their head a kiss. “What do you think about going back to my place?”
Y/n nods their head vigorously. “I would like that.” They pull away enough to look him in the eyes. “You’ve got some apologizing to do,” they say, a devious smile tugging at their lips.
I TOTALLY FELT YOU WHEN YOU SAID DR STONE IS LIKE A DRUG OMG its like my lifeline at this point
i was wondering if i could request a small drabble or headcanons for ryusui !! i keep having this repeating idea of him with a reader who’s like his childhood friend and ever since they were young, ryusui always tried to pursue them romantically but reader would always just laugh it off, thinking he was joking. but ryusui never gave up on his love for the reader!!
(spoilers for the treasure island arc)
but once everyone on the perseus gets petrified, leaving the reader (who had gone with the recon team to scout the area), reader starts to realize just how much they were worried for him, and especially when he comes back to them in fragments after kohaku smashed him. and the second that he gets revived, the reader is all over him and telling him how worried they were, and the second that the two of them are alone (maybe the team recognized that they were having a moment and let them have it?) reader confesses that they return his feelings and the possibility of possibly losing him helped them realize that? O:
male reader would be preferred (ryusui bi icon frfr), but i dont mind gender neutral!! :D
thank you so much for your time in advance, and remember to stay hydrated!! (expect more interactions from me, im literally obsessed with your works ❤️❤️)
彡zai says- the brain rot this gave me was insane back on my dr stone grind!! he really is a bi icon i'll never forget what he said to tsukasa (ngl i read it a year ago so i spitballed the lore lol)
paring: ryusui x male reader

ever since you were kids you were always the main thing on his mind. he was constantly teasing you and clinging to your side. as you got older it turned into him flirting with you and seeing how far he could push your buttons until you got flustered.
when senku broke him from the stone he was more focused on you than himself, he knew you had an impressive skill set and he used that to his advantage. even if they didn’t have enough revival fluid he brought you along anyways, dressing your statue so when they could revive you, you were ready to go.
when you came to you immediately fell into someone’s arms. their hold on you was firm but also familiar, and their scent was familiar too it was almost comforting. you pulled back to look back at them, and you were met with ryusui smiling down at you “i missed you.”
you laughed and gently removed yourself from his hold “i’m sure you did.” you didn’t notice it but his face slightly faltered.
his flirting was no better when the two of you were alone, as a matter of fact, it was only worse. the two of you sat alone staring at the moon, he spent most of the time staring at you instead of the sky “you’re so handsome, the way you shine in the moonlight is amazing.” you laughed again and rolled your eyes. you always assumed his flirting was just empty words, he was the human version of greed after all he craves everything the world has to offer and he does this to everyone.
“you don’t have to keep saying those things ryusui. i know you don’t mean them.”
he stared at you, no matter how many times he tells you he adores you or how many times he admits how he wants nothing more in the world than you, you never believed him.
at least not until the incident.
when you first laid eyes on his stone body you wanted to scream but you couldn't, the scream was barely louder than a whisper hardly a scream at all. it only got harder when kohaku brought him and the others back as fragments.
the second he was revied the team cleared out and kohaku sent you a knowing glance.
one the two of you were alone you immediately wrapped your arms around him pulling him into a hug "i was so worried about you, i thought i lost you." he returned your embrace and rested a hand on the back of your head pulling you closer to him "you could never lose me." he pressed a gentle kiss to your temple, and for the first time instead of backing away from his affection you accepted it.
you gently pull back from his hug to look at him face to face "i've realized some things."
he raises a brow "and what would that be?"
"how much i care for you, and how much you care for me." his hand moves to gently cup your cheek while his thumb gently caressed your cheek "oh? and how much do i care for you?"
"you've basically spent most of our lives trying to win me over, and every time i never really responded to them or gave you any straight answer. so why did you never give up?"
he smiled at you "that's easy. because i'm the greediest guy there is." your face slightly fell which caused him to chuckle "you didn't let me finish. because i'm the greediest guy there is i know there's no greater treasure than your heart. i'd stop at nothing to make you my boyfriend and to be yours."
hii!! not sure if ur requests are still open since i just saw ur post saying that requests are open 😅😅😅 but if u can u do ryusui and senku (or just one of them) with an s/o that tends to overwork themselves so they pass out and they take care of s/o ?? TY!!!! sorry if this is triggering too
thank you so much for your request! some of my longer works are a bit delayed because my brain is mush rn so i went with getting something shorter out in the meantime :) this is the first time i'm writing for two characters and for ryusui-- i hope my characterization is okay!
warnings: passing out :,)

Constructive feedback is always welcome! I’m always looking to improve!
Requests are open! (check my pinned post!)
Senku:
You and Senku are both really dedicated to your work.
Senku works hard to recreate modern day science inventions, takes the time to research and experiment and is even a teacher to the citizens of Ishigami Village! He’s accumulated a vast knowledge of all sorts of science and mathematics over the years and has practiced applying his knowledge through the technology he’s recreated in the stone world. Senku is one of the most driven and passionate people amongst a group of hard-working, intelligent others. You were another.
Two brilliant people enamored with their work- the only difference between them? One knew when to take a breather.
Senku was only human and knew--for the most part--to listen to his body. Prioritizing health was a given; the logical thing to do. He understood the value of rest and was aware that even he needs his downtime, so he’s rarely caught pulling all-nighters and denying food.
You, on the other hand, took every chance you got to work.
You seemingly never stopped moving and reflecting on new material after new material. When you weren’t focusing on your work, you were helping others with tasks of their own. Though Senku admires your endurance and determination, he starts questioning your means of getting so much done when you begin refusing food and sleep.
Senku has snapped you out of your work trance a couple of nights to remind you that it’d be no good if you’re tired throughout the day, and you’d tell him you would settle down for the night just as soon as you finish this one thing. He had no reason not to believe you, so he’d retreat to his sleeping bag.
The “just this one thing” line soon got old though, and he started observing how the bags under your eyes were growing darker and your cheeks were more sunken in. It was harder for you to get as much work done and your mind constantly drifted. Honestly? He was a little scared of the state you were in.
One morning, Senku was in the midst of finishing a conversation with Gen when the mentalist asked him, “Say, is everything alright with dear Y/N? They don’t look like they’ve been doing very well,” his eyes flickering nervously to you, watching you barely keep yours open before returning his attention back to the scientist. Senku sighed and was about to reply when a loud “thud!” was heard from behind him. Both Gen and Senku whipped their heads toward the noise and saw you had collapsed on your side. “Y/N!”
Your friends immediately rushed over and Senku started checking your pulse, your breathing, just to make sure you hadn’t died from overload! But no, you were still very much alive, though you probably felt like you were on the verge of death.
With the help of Kohaku and Gen, Senku was able to lay you down on a makeshift bed in Chrome’s shed. They all stared at your unconscious figure in concern, but Senku reassured them (and himself) that you just needed some sleep, food and water and in two weeks, you’d be good as new.
He was surprised at how relieved he felt when you woke up, but was also a bit irritated with your stubbornness. Didn’t you know that your health should be a priority?
Nevertheless, Senku refused to leave you alone while you were bedridden, all instruction given to the other members of the village coming from your side. He left it to Kohaku and Chrome to bring you food and water throughout the day and had Kinro and Ginro take on your work while he monitored your recovery. He didn’t let you return to your tasks until color had returned to your face and the light in your eyes came back.
He was a lot more doting after that incident, making sure you were eating and drinking enough throughout the day and that you weren’t overexerting yourself. Senku’s checkups were a little annoying overwhelming, but your heart swelled at the effort your boyfriend put in to make sure you were taking care of yourself.
Senku felt a bit guilty for letting you stay awake so many nights, and afraid you’d accidentally get caught up in your work again, he’d stay up and drag you to bed if he needed to. He couldn’t fall asleep himself without his mind at ease knowing that you were getting your rest.
“It’s really nice you’re looking after me.” “Well, I don’t want you dying on the job one day.”
Ryusui:
Ryusui is a man who desires all, and that means good health too. Getting sick is something that would hold him back from accomplishing his goals and bringing his other desires into fruition after all.
He’s very dedicated to his studies and is passionate about what he wants. He takes the time to learn how to attain his desires, putting in a lot of time, effort and money patience into his work.
Sure, Ryusui may have encouraged your bad habits a couple of times-- if you desire to work, then to work you shall!-- but he knows the importance of maintaining a balance between eating, sleeping, working and having fun.
He trusts that you too know to prioritize your physical and mental health, and you do know! But sometimes you can’t help yourself from pushing back your sleep and eating time to finish ooonnnne more project. However, one project quickly turns into two and then three.
Ryusui is no idiot, though. He knows you better than you know yourself and can easily tell when there's a shift in your personality. He notices how you seem to be more irritated with others and yourself more often, and along with that, takes notice of your slouched posture and the loss of color in your face.
One day, Ryusui just couldn’t help himself. You were working away on yet another task, moving slowly and shakily as if you were about to topple over any second. He grabbed you by the shoulders and examined you, concern and a hint of anger laced in his tone as he asked you “when was the last time you ate a proper meal?”
You collapsed in his arms before you could answer him, and he fell to his knees to settle your head into his lap. After yelling for help, he and Senku were able to move you into a tent with a cot and assess you properly. The Kingdom of Science leader tells him that you were sleep deprived and malnourished, and that you should be fine after a couple of weeks of catching up on rest and eating three meals a day. Ryusui could come to these conclusions on his own, but it was reassuring to have confirmation from the scientist.
Ryusui refuses to set sail on the group’s voyage until you’re completely healed, and the minute you wake up, he’s scrambling to be at your side. He tries not to bombard you, but question after question and reprimand after reprimand sort of just tumble out. He’s worried, okay? How could you act so foolish?
The captain is completely dedicated to nursing you back to health. He makes sure to remind you that if you ever struggle taking care of yourself or managing your workload, he’s always there to help out and firmly tells you to be more mindful of your wellbeing. Once you’re fully recovered, he’s hauling your ass to bed if you’re up doing something (as in he’ll literally carry you over his shoulder) and orders Francois to make you a bunch of healthy meals and snacks for the both of you throughout the day. He’ll even give you massages to soothe your aching muscles on days you do accidentally take on more than you think you’re capable of in order to help you sleep better.
“Ryusui, you really don’t have to go through all the trouble…” “Nonsense, Y/N! I desire the very best for my s/o!”
Ryusui’s voice is sweet, concerned, momentarily distracting you from the raging storm outside the Perseus.
“its late, love. You should be sleeping.”
You shift slightly in the doorway of the control room, trying your best not to come across as vulnerable.
“Just…cant sleep.” you reply quickly, going to sit on one of the chairs nearby, wrapping yourself back up with the blanket you cane in with.
Ryusui watches you sit on the chair, your knees tucked to your chest. Without a second thought, he walks over to you.
He kneels down infront of you, whispering, “whats wrong, hmmm?” his usual smug, teasing personality gone.
"im fine."
"are you scared of the storm?-"
"No...!"
He smiles, knowing your lying. Before you can say anything else, he picks you up, and carries you to his chair near the front of the room, a big glass pannel infront, with a view of the storm outside.
"You don’t have to be scared, sweetheart." he whispers, sitting down into his plush leather chair, letting you straddle him.
you sigh, relaxing into his body. Ryusui's hand comes up to your hair, running his hands through it.
He shifts slightly, pulling your blanket up around you without a word. “Get some rest,” he murmurs. You nod, settling in as the rain drums against the glass, comforted by the quiet certainty that he isn’t going anywhere.
