YESYESYESSSS he is literally my favourite character from dr stone 🥹
୨୧ —Tsukasa Shishio
You were fucked.
you knew it as soon as you layed eyes on Tsukasa’s thick biceps and abs, with only a plush towel hanging low on his hips.
“turn around, let me dry your hair.” his deep, velvety voice snaps you out of your trance, quietly composing yourself as you adjust the towel wrapped around you.
“r-right. okay.” he sits on the edge of the bed by the hairdryer, patting his lap softly.
you sit back on his thighs, feeling the firm muscles under you. Tsukasa’s hand automatically makes its way to your waist as he kisses your neck.
“thats it…” he coos softly, his breath tickling your ear.
he turns on the blow dryer, pointing it at your wet hair as he uses his other hand to gently rake his hand through the strands, his touch gentle and affectionate.
After your hair is dry, Tsukasa swiftly shifts you so your straddling his thighs, pressing a tender kiss to your forehead.
“pass the hairbrush?” you nod as you hand him the brush, smiling sweetly at him as he carefully detangles your hair.
“you look…cute like this” he says, brushing some hair from your face.
“Stop…you’re making me blush..” your weak attempts at covering your face with your hands are quickly stopped by Tsukasa tugging your hands away, and pressing a lingering kiss to your lips.
You smile against his lips as they move with yours.
kinro seeks advice from senku and gen to make you a surprise — and a lovely story begins.

Everything is dark. Hard. Cold.
Then crack.
A sharp sound. Light. Air. You fall to your knees, coughing, stone dust all over your skin.
“Careful there, Y/N.” says a voice you know too well.
You look up fast. White spiky hair. Sharp green eyes. A small grin.
“…Senku?” you whisper.
“Ten billion percent” he answers “Welcome back to the land of the living.”
You blink, confused “Wait—how—what happened? Where are we?”
He hands you a really useless dress to cover yourself “Humanity got turned to stone. Long nap. I woke up first. You were my classmate, remember? The one who always drew manga characters during science lectures?”
You let out a breathy laugh “You said that was a waste of brain cells.”
Senku smirks “Yeah, and now those brain cells are my new entertainment department. I revived you because people need fun as much as they need food.”
He leads you to the village. The air smells clean and wild. People wear furs, not clothes. Everyone stares when they see you.
“Whoa,” says Chrome, eyes wide, “Another one from the stone world!”
“Yeah” Senku corrects “She knows about comics, anime, music—all the stuff we lost. She’s gold for rebuilding culture.”
A man with a spear stands by the gate. Green eyes. Serious face. Kinro.
You stop. He’s tall, the sunlight making his eyes shine even brighter.
Senku says, “Kinro, this is Y/N. She’s with me.”
Kinro stares for a second too long, then turns away quickly “Understood.”
You smile shyly “Hi! Uh, nice to meet you.”
He clears his throat “You… should get proper clothes.”
You laugh a little “Yeah, everyone keeps saying that.”
Senku grins “He’s just being polite. Don’t mind him, he’s allergic to fun.”
Kinro frowns but doesn’t answer. You notice his ears turning pink.
That night, you sit by the fire telling stories.
“So in this show,” you explain, waving your hands, “the main character can stretch like rubber—”
“Impossible!” Chrome interrupts “You’re making this up!”
“Nope! It’s fiction!” you say, laughing. Everyone joins in. Even Kohaku giggles.
Kinro stands nearby, pretending to be on guard duty again. His eyes drift to you every few seconds.
Kohaku leans close to him “You keep watching her.”
He stiffens “I’m watching everyone.”
She smirks “Sure you are.”
You notice him after a while and wave “Hey, Green Eyes! Come join us!”
“I’m fine here.” he says quickly.
“Aw, come on,” you tease “You can’t guard the fire from that far away.”
He hesitates, then walks closer. You grin up at him “See? That’s better.”
Kinro doesn’t reply, but the corner of his mouth almost, almost moves.
And when your laughter fills the air again, he lets himself listen.
It’s been a few months and now you’re part of the village… clothes, work, friends, even a small hut near the lab.
You help Senku and Gen with new ideas: music boxes, board games, little shows to make people laugh.
Life feels simple but warm.
One afternoon, you sit near the lab, sorting papers when Gen leans on the table with his usual grin.
“So, Senku,” he starts, voice playful, “I’ve been thinking. Out of all the statues in the world, why her? Why did you choose to wake up our dear Y/N first?”
Senku doesn’t even look up “Because she’s useful. She knows modern culture, media, human psychology, entertainment. It’s efficient.”
Gen laughs “Efficient, eh? Or maybe… personal?”
Senku raises a brow “Personal?”
Gen smirks wider “Did you, my scientific friend, perhaps have a crush on her back in the old world?”
Senku snorts “Please. Ten billion percent no.”
You look up from your work and roll your eyes “Senku isn’t one to think about things like that.”
Senku nods “Exactly. My love is for science.”
Gen turns to you “And what about you, Y/N? Did you like him?”
You laugh, shaking your head “Nah. Not my type at all.”
Gen gasps dramatically “Oh? Then who is your type?”
You grin “Hmm… someone calm, brave, maybe a little shy.”
Gen wiggles his eyebrows “Oho, interesting~”
Not far away, two guards stand by the village gate… Kinro and Ginro. They hear everything.
Ginro’s jaw drops “Did you hear that, brother?! She said brave and shy! That could be me! Maybe I should ask her out. I’ll start by bringing her a flower!”
He starts to move, eyes sparkling.
Kinro blocks him with the end of his spear “Don’t.”
“Eh? Why not?”
“She doesn’t need your nonsense.”
Ginro pouts “You’re just jealous.”
Kinro’s eyes narrow slightly “You’ll embarrass yourself. And her.”
Ginro sighs but still grins “Huh, you’re blushing, Kinro. Maybe you’re the shy one she likes.”
Kinro turns his face away, silent.
Ginro laughs loudly “I knew it! My serious brother has a crush!”
“Focus on guard duty.” Kinro says, voice firm. But his grip on the spear tightens a little.
Back near the lab, Gen keeps teasing “See? Even she admits Senku’s not her type. Maybe she already has someone in mind.”
Senku shrugs “As long as it doesn’t distract from her work, she can like whoever she wants.”
You smile quietly, eyes drifting toward the gate where the green-eyed guard stands tall and still.
“Yeah,” you say softly “Whoever she wants.”
The sun is high. You’re walking around the village with a sort of self made notebook, jotting ideas.
“Okay,” you mutter, “I need a new game for the villagers… something fun but easy to teach…”
You stop at the forge, at the well, at the bakery, asking everyone questions. Everyone laughs, gives suggestions. But the last stop is… the gate.
The two brothers, Kinro and Ginro, stand tall as always.
You clear your throat “Hi! Mind if I ask you a few questions for a new game?”
Ginro immediately perks up “Questions for a game? Ooh, maybe the prize is… a date with me!”
You blink “Uh… what?”
Ginro grins “Yeah! I could even bring flowers! I’m good at flowers. And… maybe a hug at the end?”
Kinro’s jaw tightens. He doesn’t say anything, just stands still.
You tilt your head towards Kinro, grin slowly, and your eyes flash a little… dangerous “Am I allowed to punch him?”
Kinro’s voice is calm “Yes.”
Your fist moves fast. Smack. Right in Ginro’s shoulder.
“YOW!” Ginro screams, hopping on one foot, then stomps off, crying and muttering about flowers and unfair treatment.
You cross your arms, grinning “Well. That’s done.”
Kinro stares at you. He doesn’t smile. He doesn’t speak. He just watches.
You tilt your head “You’re quiet. I like that. Calm people are… easy to talk to.”
He looks away “…I’m listening.”
“Good enough,” you say cheerfully. You sit down on a rock near the gate, scribbling in your notebook “So… you two are brothers, right?”
Kinro nods once “…Yes.”
“Which one’s older?”
Kinro frowns “…Me.”
“Ah. That explains the serious face.” You grin “The younger one’s trouble, huh?”
His lips twitch. He doesn’t answer.
You scribble a little in your notebook, then look up “So… what’s it like, guarding the village every day? Boring?”
Kinro pauses “…Sometimes. Mostly… important.”
“That’s fair,” you say, nodding “But hey, I bet you see a lot of interesting stuff too.”
He tilts his head slightly “…Maybe.”
You grin, leaning closer “You know, I like learning about people like you. Quiet, strong… types. Makes me feel like I can learn everything if I try.”
He glances at you, briefly meeting your eyes “…Why are you smiling like that?”
“Because I like talking to you,” you say simply “You don’t have to talk much. I’ll do enough for both of us.”
Kinro doesn’t answer. He doesn’t move. But you see his eyes soften a little.
You scribble another note in your notebook, then glance at him “So… friends?”
“…If you insist.” he says finally, voice low but steady.
You grin wider “Good. Friends it is.”
The two of you sit there, quiet but comfortable. No one else around. Just you… and Kinro.
The morning sun is soft and warm. You’re carrying a basket of small stones and sticks, materials for the new game you’re designing.
You find Kinro standing by the edge of the village, sharpening his spear. Green eyes catch the light.
“Hey,” you call cheerfully “I need your help with something. I promise it won’t be dangerous.”
He glances at you but doesn’t smile “…What kind of help?”
“I’m making a game,” you explain, waving a stick “Something where villagers have to move stones in patterns without dropping them. Could use a strong guard to… test it.”
Kinro raises an eyebrow “…Testing, huh?”
“Yep! You can show me if it’s too hard or too easy.” you say, bouncing on your toes.
He finally nods “…Fine. Lead the way.”
As you explain the rules, you notice his attention on you, subtle but constant. He doesn’t say much, but you don’t mind.
“So,” you say casually, “have you ever played anything like this before?”
“…No,” Kinro admits “…I mostly spar or guard.”
“Perfect,” you grin “You’re my first official player!”
He stiffens slightly, then picks up a stone. You hand him another.
“Here,” you say “Try balancing it. Don’t drop it.”
He frowns, concentrating “…This is… harder than it looks.”
You laugh “Told you! I designed it to make people think, not just run around.”
After a few minutes, he’s doing surprisingly well. You clap softly “Wow, Kinro! You’re actually good at this. Maybe you’re smarter than you let on.”
He flushes just a little, lowering his gaze “…I’m focused.”
“Focused… and cute.” you tease lightly, nudging him with your shoulder.
He freezes, eyes widening slightly. “…I… am not…”
“Shh,” you grin “You don’t have to say it. I know.”
The two of you sit for a while after the game, quietly arranging stones and sticks. You tell small stories, funny things from the modern world, silly TV shows, games you love. Kinro listens, occasionally asking short questions.
“You really like all this… entertainment stuff?” he asks finally.
“Of course!” you say “People need fun, even if it’s just a simple game or a funny story. That’s how you make life brighter.”
He nods slowly “…I understand.”
At one point, a stone rolls toward the edge of the cliff by accident. You jump to grab it, but Kinro’s hand is already there, steady, stopping it.
“Thanks” you say softly, holding his hand for just a second before letting go.
He doesn’t look at you. He doesn’t smile. But his grip lingers a little longer than it should have.
You grin at him “See? You’re already part of the game… and part of the fun.”
He clears his throat “…I… guess so.”
By the time the sun is starting to set, you two sit side by side, stones and sticks scattered around. No one else is nearby.
“You know,” you say casually, “I like talking to you. Even if you don’t talk much, it’s… nice.”
Kinro looks at you “…It is.”
You smile, leaning back on your hands “Friends?”
He doesn’t hesitate this time “Friends.”
And in the quiet of the evening, with the sky turning gold, it feels like the first real bond is forming between you and Kinro, slow, careful… and maybe a little dangerous for Ginro if he ever shows up again.
The forest is quiet. You carry a big basket full of sticks, stones, and other little things for your new board game. The path back to the village is uneven, and the basket is heavy.
“Ugh… maybe I took too much.” you mutter, wobbling.
Out of nowhere…
“Here.”
You look up. Kinro. His spear is still on his back, but one hand is already under the basket “You’re struggling.”
“I… I can manage.” you say, surprised.
He shakes his head “No. You’re carrying too much.”
Before you can protest, he lifts the basket easily and starts walking beside you.
“…Kinro?” you ask, laughing softly “You’re supposed to be guarding. Rules are rules.”
He frowns, glancing around as if he’s looking for something.
You grin, teasing “You never leave the guard spot.”
He blinks at you, silent for a moment, then just shrugs “I… can make an exception.”
By the time you reach the village, a small crowd has gathered. Chrome, Kohaku, and even Senku are watching.
Kohaku’s eyes widen “But he never leaves the post!”
Senku smirks “Interesting. Seems the friend-from-the-modern-world effect is real.”
You step down from the path, holding part of the basket while Kinro carries the bulk “Thanks, Kinro. You didn’t have to.”
He grunts softly “…I know.”
Ginro watches from afar, jaw dropping “Whoa… my brother is… helping her? And… looking… normal?”
Kohaku nudges him “See? Told you there’s something there.”
Ginro blushes “…Maybe I should ask her first about board games…”
You laugh and unload the basket with Kinro “See? Told you it’s fun to have friends in the village.”
He sets the basket down carefully, eyes on you the whole time “…Friends.”
“Exactly.” You grin at him “And good friends look out for each other.”
Kinro doesn’t reply, but when you glance at him, you notice his eyes soften just slightly. The strict, calm guard is gone for a moment, replaced by… something warmer.
The villagers whisper among themselves, confused and curious. Kinro leaving the guard post? But as he walks back to the edge of the village after helping, his posture still straight, he glances at you once more.
And you catch the tiniest, almost invisible smile on his face.
The weeks pass quickly.
Every day, the village feels louder with laughter, chatter, the sound of hammers and tools, and your voice somewhere in the mix.
You talk to everyone. You always smile. You help with games, with science, with stories.
And Kinro he’s there. Always close enough to see you, never close enough to touch.
At first, he tells himself it’s nothing. He’s just… protecting the village. Watching over you like everyone else.
But then, one day, he catches himself staring too long while you’re laughing with Kohaku. His heartbeat goes wild. Too fast.
He straightens, gripping his spear tightly.
No… focus. Rules are rules.
But the rules don’t stop his heart.
He starts noticing little things. The way you hum when you work. How you push your hair back when you think. How you always talk to him first, even when others are around.
Every time your eyes meet his, he feels… something. A heat he can’t explain.
One evening, as you wave to him before going back to your hut, he just stands there. Silent. Watching.
It’s not just friendship anymore, he realizes.
I… like her.
The next day, Kinro does something no one expects. He leaves his guard post and walks straight toward Senku’s lab.
Inside, Senku and Gen are busy working, something with glass tubes and a lot of smoke.
Gen spots him first “Ohhh? The mighty guard Kinro leaves his post? What’s this, a miracle?”
Senku doesn’t look up “If the village isn’t on fire, make it quick.”
Kinro stands stiffly, his usual serious face hiding how nervous he feels inside “…I need to ask something.”
Senku raises a brow “Go on.”
“…What does Y/N like?”
Both men freeze. Then they share the same slow, evil grin.
Gen leans closer, voice dripping with amusement “What does she like? Ohhh, Senku, did you hear that? The serious golden knight is asking about romance!”
Kinro’s ears turn red “…It’s not… romance.”
Senku finally looks up, smirking “Right. Sure. You’re just… scientifically curious about her interests.”
Kinro looks away, jaw tight “I only… want to give her something she likes. Something from her world.”
Senku shrugs “I have no time for this love experiment. But—” he gestures lazily at Gen “—she was talking the other day about missing ‘manga’. She said she misses reading a good new one.”
Kinro blinks “…Manga?”
Gen chuckles, eyes twinkling “Ohh, right, you wouldn’t know. It’s like… a story drawn on paper. With pictures and words. People read them for fun, to laugh or cry.”
Kinro’s expression is blank, but his mind races “…Drawn stories.”
“Exactly!” Gen says with a grin “It’s art, emotion, humor, sometimes romance—oh wait, maybe you want to make her a romantic one~?”
Kinro’s face goes red again “…No.”
Senku rolls his eyes “Heh. Whatever your reason, good luck. I’m too busy rebuilding science.” He reaches over and hands Kinro a few sheets of precious paper “Here. You can use these. But make it count.”
Kinro stares at the paper as if it’s gold “…Thank you.”
Gen leans against the table, teasing grin still in place “So… what’s the plan, great guard? Going to write a tale of love and destiny?”
Kinro ignores him and turns toward the door “I’ll… figure something out.”
“Sure you will,” Gen calls after him “Just don’t make it about fighting rules!”
Senku smirks “He probably will.”
Outside, Kinro walks toward the edge of the forest, the papers tucked carefully under his arm.
He stops, sitting down near a quiet stream.
He stares at the blank sheets for a long time.
He’s not an artist. He doesn’t know how to draw. He doesn’t even know what a manga really looks like.
But he knows what you look like. How your laughter sounds. How your eyes light up when you talk about your world.
That’s enough.
He takes a small piece of charcoal from his pouch, something used to mark the ground during patrols and presses it against the paper.
The first line is shaky. The next one is smoother.
He draws a stick figure. Then another. Then the sun. A bad tree. He frowns, erases with his finger, tries again.
Hours pass. His hands get darker with charcoal. His paper fills with uneven shapes but slowly, they start to look like something.
Like you. Laughing. Holding a strange modern book.
He doesn’t know if it’s good. Probably not. But it’s his. And it’s for you.
He sits there until the sky turns orange. Then he carefully folds the papers and hides them inside his vest.
For the first time, he allows himself to smile.
If this can make her smile… it’s worth it.
That night the air is cool and still. You’re on your way back to your hut when you see the two brothers at their post.
“Good night, you two” you call softly.
Ginro waves with both hands “Good night, Y/N! Sweet dreams of me!”
You laugh “You wish.”
Kinro’s reply is quieter “Rest well.”
He opens his mouth again, then closes it, stepping back as if he’d changed his mind. His eyes linger a second longer than usual.
You tilt your head, smiling “Something wrong?”
He shakes his head “…Nothing. Good night.”
Days pass, and it keeps happening.
He catches your sleeve like he wants to speak, then pulls back.
He takes a breath as if to say something important, then goes silent when anyone walks by.
You notice. Of course you do.
One afternoon, you decide you’ve had enough guessing.
You walk to the gate where he stands, perfectly still, eyes scanning the horizon.
“Kinro,” you say with a mischievous smile, “I need your help. It’s important.”
He straightens immediately “What kind of help?”
“Forest duty.” you answer vaguely.
“…Forest duty?” he repeats, suspicious.
“Yes,” you insist “Come on.”
You lead him through the trees until you reach a quiet clearing filled with soft grass. You stop and sit down on a small hill, putting your bag beside you.
Kinro looks around carefully “Where is the problem? Is someone hurt?”
You laugh “No problem. No danger. Just sit.”
He blinks “…Sit?”
“Mm-hmm.” You pat the ground next to you “I don’t need help for real. I just wanted to be alone… with you. Just a few minutes, I swear. Then you can go back to your duty.”
He hesitates, torn between the rules and your voice, then finally lowers himself beside you.
The forest hums quietly around you.
You glance at him and smile “These days it looked like you wanted to tell me something. This is your chance… if you want to.”
For a moment he doesn’t move at all. Then he looks away, shoulders tense.
“I… did something,” he says finally, voice low, “but… don’t laugh at it.”
You blink, confused but gentle “Okay. I promise.”
He studies your face, making sure you mean it, then reaches into his vest and pulls out folded sheets of paper.
“…Here.”
You take them carefully “What’s this?”
He exhales “…A manga.”
Your eyes widen “A manga? Wait—who drew it?”
He looks down, cheeks pink “…Me. You told Senku you missed reading them.”
Your heart jumps “You talked to Senku about me?”
He nods once, still not looking at you.
You unfold the paper and stare at the lines. They’re rough, smudged, drawn with charcoal. The figures are clumsy but full of effort.
You squint a little, trying to understand “I’m really glad for this, but I’m sorry, Kinro… can you explain what’s happening here?”
He gives a tiny, nervous laugh “…I can’t draw. Not well.”
You smile softly “You have other talents for sure.”
He glances at you, and you shift a little closer, close enough that your shoulders touch. He stiffens but doesn’t move away.
You point at one of the stick-like drawings “Who’s this?”
“…That’s me.” he admits.
“And this one in the dress?”
“…You.”
You grin “I see.”
He begins to explain each page, the two figures training, then laughing, then standing together under a big drawn sun. His words come slowly at first, then faster as he forgets to be shy. The story is simple but warm: two people who meet after a long sleep and rebuild their world side by side.
When he finishes, you hold the pages like treasure “You ran out of paper?”
He nods “Senku said it’s too precious to waste. I used everything he gave me.”
You look up at him, eyes bright “Kinro… this is one of the sweetest things anyone has ever done for me.”
He swallows, still pink “It’s not perfect.”
“It doesn’t have to be,” you answer softly “It’s you.”
You stay like that for a while, quiet and close, the forest whispering around you.
Kinro glances sideways as your smile makes his heartbeat race again, faster than ever.
The forest is quiet. The two of you are sitting close, the half-finished “manga” between you. Kinro’s voice has gone very small.
“You… liked it?”
“I loved it,” you whisper “It’s honest. Like you.”
The words hang there, heavier than the air. You shift a little closer, your knees brush. He doesn’t move.
“Kinro,” you murmur, “in your story… do they end up together? Do they kiss at the end?”
He freezes, startled by the question.
You smile as shy as he never saw you be “Kinro… can I… can I kiss you?”
He turns toward you, his eyes catching the last light through the trees. The space between you feels smaller, warmer.
He then snaps out of the freeze and give you a big solid nod.
Then you reach up and rest your hands lightly against his cheeks.
He leans just slightly into your touch, breath unsteady.
The forest wind moves through the leaves, gentle and bright, as if the whole world exhales with you. Then you kiss him. It's soft and calm just as the moment wants it to be. Your hearts beating fast, together, as if they're connected.
After the kiss you leave your hands on his cheeks and smile at him so brightly “Thank you for all this Kinro.”
Your hands move on their own before you even think about it, wrapping around him in a quiet hug.
He freezes instantly, his whole body tense, his face turning a deep shade of pink.
For a second he doesn’t even breathe, like he’s not sure this is real.
You hide your face against his chest, smiling to yourself.
He finally exhales, slowly, carefully, afraid to move too fast, as if the smallest mistake might wake him from a dream.
The morning sun spills over the village like honey, bright and loud with voices. You’re helping Kohaku carry baskets when she gives you that knowing grin.
“So,” she says, stretching the word, “you and Kinro went to the forest yesterday?”
You blink innocently “We did. I… needed help with something.”
“Mhm.” Kohaku’s grin widens “And now you’re glowing like someone polished you with sunlight.”
You laugh “That’s just the sweat.”
From the other side of the field, Ginro nearly drops a bundle of firewood “I knew it! She did something to him! Look at him!”
Everyone turns. Kinro is at his guard post as usual, but something is different. His posture is still perfect, yet there’s a small softness around his mouth, a calm that wasn’t there before.
He even waves at a child who greets him. Waves.
Chrome whispers, “He waved. Kinro waved. That’s basically a confession in guard language.”
Gen bursts out laughing, fanning himself dramatically “Ah, young love in the Stone Age! The stoic knight has fallen!”
Senku doesn’t even look up from his workbench “Took him long enough. The data was obvious weeks ago.”
You roll your eyes, cheeks warm “You’re all reading too much into things.”
“Sure we are,” Gen says, sing-song “And that tiny smile you’re hiding is just coincidence, right?”
You try not to smile harder, but it’s useless.
The day goes on like that, with whispers, giggles, teasing. Even the older villagers seem amused. Every time you and Kinro cross paths, passing baskets, talking quietly over meals, someone is watching, smirking behind a hand.
Kinro pretends not to notice, but his ears turn pink every single time. Still, he doesn’t scold anyone. He just keeps working, calm and steady, the faintest curve on his lips when you’re near.
By evening, the whole village has silently decided on something: you and Kinro are the pair now. The sweethearts of Ishigami Village.
You haven’t said it out loud, and, obviously, he hasn’t either, but somehow everyone already knows. And maybe you both like it that way.
Days go by, and nothing is ever said out loud. You and Kinro never call each other anything different, never hold hands where people can see, never even sit too close. But somehow… everyone just knows.
And because it’s Ishigami Village, that means one thing: nonstop teasing.
Today you’re with the Science Team, helping Senku and Chrome move heavy wooden parts for some new “machine”. You don’t even know what it’s supposed to do yet, something about “centrifugal force”, “mechanical advantage”, and “don’t touch that, it’ll explode”.
After hours in the sun, everyone’s starting to sag a little.
Gen wipes imaginary sweat from his brow “My poor delicate hands were made for performance, not manual labor.”
“Then perform some lifting..” Kohaku snaps, carrying two beams at once.
You’re somewhere in between, panting but still smiling “Okay, okay, one more—”
Suddenly a shadow falls across you. Kinro steps in, silent as always, and takes the beam right from your hands.
You blink “Kinro?”
He doesn’t meet your eyes “You look tired. I’ll take it from here.”
You open your mouth to argue, but he’s already carrying double what you were. Effortlessly.
From a few meters away, Ginro’s voice rings out like a trumpet “Whoa, WHOA, Kinro helping the ladies!? Is the world ending?!”
Kinro ignores him completely, which of course only fuels Ginro further “I mean, look at him! So chivalrous! So heroic! Next thing you know, he’ll be handing out flowers to all the girls!”
Gen smirks, leaning close to Ginro “Hmm… all the girls, you say?”
Ginro blinks “Yeah!”
“Because from where I’m standing,” Gen says, gesturing with mock seriousness, “he’s only helping one of them, the others are still there, sweating.”
Ginro freezes. His eyes dart from Kinro, who’s still quietly working beside you, to you, laughing softly, brushing a strand of hair from your face.
“Oh.” Ginro says “Ohhhhhh.”
Gen grins like a fox “Took you long enough to load that data, buddy.”
Chrome laughs “Yeah, even I knew that!”
Kohaku crosses her arms “Honestly, it’s kind of cute.”
Senku, who hasn’t looked up once from his blueprints, just mutters, “Statistically speaking, everyone knew.”
Ginro throws his arms in the air “WHAT?! Am I the only one who thought they were just weird friends?!”
Gen pats his shoulder “You sweet fool.”
Meanwhile, you try to hide a smile, but Kinro catches it. His expression softens for half a second before he looks back down at his work.
“You didn’t have to take my spot, you know.” you tell him quietly.
“I know,” he says simply “But I wanted to.”
And from behind, Gen whispers loudly to Chrome, “Did you hear that? ‘I wanted to!’ That’s practically poetry from him!”
Kinro sighs, still working “…I can hear you.”
Gen laughs “Ah, romance and rage, a perfect combination!”
By the end of the day, the machine is finished, everyone’s exhausted, and the rumor mill has officially decided one thing: even if you two never say it, Kinro is absolutely, definitely, hopelessly yours.
EPILOGUE
The night is calm, the air full of the smell of firewood and the sound of laughter from the village square. You step away from the noise for a bit, walking toward the small spot overlooking the lights.
The stars are clearer here, endless, quiet, beautiful.
You remember how you used to stare at the sky through a window, with city lights drowning everything out. Back then, you wished life could feel like one of the stories you read or watched, full of adventure, full of people who mattered.
Now here you are: in a stone world, with friends who feel like family, and a boy with beautiful green eyes who somehow turned all of this into home.
Footsteps crunch softly behind you.
“Still awake?” Kinro asks.
You smile without turning “Couldn’t sleep. The stars are too loud.”
He stands beside you, silent for a while. Then he sits down, spear resting across his knees. You glance at him, his profile calm, that tiny line between his brows gone.
“Hard to believe how much has changed,” you whisper “When I woke up here, I thought I’d never fit in.”
“You fit better than anyone.” he says quietly.
You rest your head against his shoulder. He freezes, then relaxes slowly, the tiniest breath escaping him.
“See?” you murmur “Even you don’t seem so strict anymore.”
He chuckles under his breath, a sound you don’t hear often but that you love “Maybe I just stopped fighting what was obvious.”
You look up at him “And what’s that?”
“That I’m happier when you’re near.”
Your cheeks warm, but you don’t move away. The stars blur a little as your eyes sting with happy tears.
Down by the fire, the others notice you both on the hill.
Gen smirks immediately “Look at that. Our favorite couple enjoying the moonlight.”
Ginro squints “Wait, are they actually—?”
Kohaku elbows him “Yes, Ginro. They are. Everyone knows it but you.”
Senku doesn’t look up from his notebook “Statistical certainty reached weeks ago.”
Chrome laughs “Still, it’s kinda nice, huh?”
“Yeah,” Gen says with a grin “Stone Age or not… love’s got good timing.”
Back on the hill, you hear faint laughter below but don’t care. You just sit there, head resting on Kinro’s shoulder, both of you quiet as the night deepens.
For the first time since you woke up in this strange world, you don’t miss the one you left behind.

senku, as indifferent as ever, walked over to you and held out a small box. you blinked in surprise, whatever you were saying to chrome completely forgotten the minute you spotted the heart painted on the top. he hadn't even said anything. he was studying you, waiting for you to at least take the box.
you took it, and he stayed. chrome was long gone by now, having said something about continuing the conversation later. chrome wasn't necessarily one to take the hint, but you were grateful he did this time. "thank you." you told your boyfriend.
"you don't even know what's inside."
"it's a gift!" you laughed, incredulous.
"might be a bad one. you don't know if i put spiders in there." he shrugged.
you rolled your eyes. "you're an idiot." you grumbled to him.
"i'm–"
"yeah yeah, mr. science king. shush now, i'm opening the spider box." you smiled when he didn't respond, finally lifting the lid off the box.
a small breath, not even close to conveying how surprised you were, escaped your mouth as you stared at the small chocolates. "you made me chocolates?" you asked, eyes never leaving them, half expecting them to disappear or even turn into spiders.
"it's valentine's day." he said plainly. "you said once you missed valentine's day, so i brought it back to the stone world."
you looked at him with a smile, taking a step closer to him and wrapping your arms around his neck. "thank you." you kissed his cheek, feeling his arms wrap around you.
"don't thank me yet. there might be spiders inside the chocolate."
you laughed, just holding him tighter. "jerk."
he chuckled, letting you hold him until you were ready to taste the chocolate. you both sat and had some together, and unbeknownst to you, he made a mental note to make chocolate for you again someday.
a/n ꕤ HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY :DD <333 enjoy senku trying to be nonchalant about loving you and completely failing. he is SO acts of service it only occured to me just recently (even tho i knew this whole time i just didnt put it together enough to be like omg his love language is acts of service). i love senku so bad he is THE king of science mhmhm (please note this was written during my like 2 weeks of almost writer's block but i still think its cute so i posted it)

May I request Senku developing a crush on his childhood friend after the petrification? fem!reader if possible (if not gn!reader is completely fine)
hope you have a good day :)
Something is different.
Senku isn’t referring to his environment, which is so far removed from everything he used to know and love. Instead of brick buildings and concrete pavements, there is seemingly never ending forestry, green and gravel beneath the heels of his makeshift shoes.
It isn’t Senku’s clothing, which is only some thin tattered animals skins that he had spent days working to hunt down the material for, then skin, then tan, and then stitch together with whatever he could to make the haphazard, ugly garment he wears on the regular to provide him with whatever kind of protection from the elements he can with the resources available to him. It’s a stark contrast to the color he used to wear long ago.
It isn’t even the new friends (and enemies) he’s made since freeing himself from his petrified state. A whole village of people, now, who look toward him for guidance and instruction, upon him with admiration and reverence. People who help him against the newfound stakes, newfound work, newfound responsibilities that haven’t in the slightest been easy to take on.
Something is different, and amongst nearly everything in his life becoming dirt and dust nearly overnight, Senku is referring to something different about you.
But he isn’t referring to the environment he’s used to seeing you in, a school setting, perhaps a park, maybe his own room. There’s no new observation to make about a change in your room or a decoration in your locker, because like him, those things are long gone.
It isn’t your appearance, a similar reflection of your new environments and state of the world. Random pieces of tanned skin poorly stitched into something that resembled clothing, a Frankenstien’s monster of a garment. More simple and plain assuming compared to the various designs and fabrics you wore way back when you’d spend time on an experiment with Senku. He watched you mature from one phase of your life into the next, and this was no different.
It wasn’t even the new people you surround yourself with, found comfort within. It wasn’t listening to their stories, the things that made these people, so far removed from your time, human. It wasn’t the small, pleasant things that he knew grounded you when you got too caught up in your head, the new habits you made out of retrieving materials, crafting things to keep your hands (and mind) busy, new skills you learned (or were forced to learn) and previous skills you learned to develop.
But for the life of him, Senku cannot figure out what it is that’s different. He drives himself a little further mad each time he looks on at you. There’s something in his mind, almost like an itch, that intrusively takes hold on the rest of his senses when there’s a moment between the two of you, whether it’s a quiet one, whether it’s one of shared excitement or mutual understanding. There’s a warmth and a chill that wash over him at the same time when your gaze settles on him a little too intensely, or when you say something wise and agreeable. There is something he’s missing, and he can’t figure out what.
Maybe it’s your laugh that’s different, though Senku doesn’t know why that would be a thing of prominent notice, or notice at all. It’s a little rougher, and at times with a little less heart than he’s accustomed to after so many years of hearing it bright and enthusiastic. But it’s still kind, and most of all, genuine. Perhaps something about that makes it distinguishable from another.
Or perhaps it was your new approach to, your new outlook on, life. No, perhaps it was the way you applied your already existing approaches and outlooks to your new, unique circumstances. To help cope, to help others, to help him.
It was something different, Senku was sure of it. However, he hasn’t had much time to linger on what could possibly be the source of such…irritation, for very long.
Perhaps a more irritating point was the fact that Senku could hardly place a time when he first observed this difference.
At the very least, he could estimate it to be sometime after the both of you emerged from the stone.
The simplest solution, perhaps, could be for him to just ask you directly. It’s the easiest way to confirm or deny hypotheses’. He would ask if you had gotten haircuts in the past, ask if you had gotten any sleep after noticing prominent circles under your eyes and sluggish movements. This was no different.
But when Senku finds himself hesitating on an evening when the two of you are working in the lab together, Senku thinks that maybe this is the different thing. For some reason, he’s slower to communicating such personal things, despite it being nothing more than simple, casual and menial conversation.
You’ve had hundreds of conversations about a million different things over the years, from careers you aspire to pursue in earnest to the more daunting topics about love and loss. He’s seen every side of you, good and ugly, he’s heard every side of you. Every insecurity, every point of pride, about every friend who’s come and gone and stayed behind; and in a more Senku like fashion, you’ve heard the same from him, in that straightforward and logical way of communicating that you’ve always been able to see through from the wavers in his voice to the passionate glints in his eyes.
But something is different. Something has been different.
Yet the two of you work away in the lab as if it were any other evening, the twinkling stars in the sky he admires so much hidden away by the walls and bamboo roof. It’s what you’ve been doing since you’ve established some sort of lab to work out of ever since the petrification. Senku has felt quite disturbed by this difference of yours, but at the very least, he finds it comforting that it doesn’t affect this routine that the two of you established early on in your relationship. The content, collaborative efforts the two of you put in to create something satisfying, worthwhile; exciting.
It’s what he’s always felt with you in your relationship. Thrill to indulge in something he’s passionate about together, thrill to create something with you, thrill to be with you--
Senku pauses his work for a moment. He shifts his gaze from the notes in front of him to where you stand just down the opposite end of the table, completely enamored with the tests you were performing.
Something is different. He thinks, at that moment, that he’s almost figured out what.
But the realization he was about to reach disappears from him suddenly, and he can’t seem to become conscious of the conclusion when he stares at you. He tries desperately to recall it, reach for it in his mind, through a frantic look at your features. The warm light against your skin, the gentle movement of your hands, the concentrated furrow of your brows.
His heart feels like it might burst out of frustration the more he looks at you, and he forces himself to turn away. It’s there, it was there!

➳ Characters: Ryusui Nanami
⤠ None ⤟ Dr Stone Masterlist (soon!) ⤠ None ⤟
Anon request: Hello there~ can i request a jealous ryuusui hcs uwu the world needs more ryuusui content~ thankyouu OwO
Is the dr stone fandom still alive? Hello? Anybody there? I miss talking about Ryusui and Stanley honestly... - This is a rewriting of my old work, originally posted on @/severnliliuch.
You thought that Ryusui, a man with everything, never gets jealous? You are so, so wrong. His jealousy is more because of lack of attention though, since he is pretty secure in himself and your relationship.
What do you expect from the greediest man in the stone world? Once Ryusui gets a little bit of your attention, he wants all of it. And he doesn’t really like to share with others
But this is the stone world, there's a lot of stuff to do, so you don't give him the attention he wants and craves. If this were the modern world, Ryusui would have simply stolen your attention by either something you like, coming to you with a massive smirk on his face ready to show off his ability, or taking you out on a date
However, he can’t do it in the stone world, even if he has you working for him. Ryusui would pout seeing you talking with others, even if it’s Yuzuihira, and he is going to interrupt your conversation or simply hug you from behind
Ryusui it’s also more prone to get jealous if you are spending too much time with his brother, even if he is glad that you two are on good terms! But spending too much time with Sai and Ryusui is pouting so hard. And would constantly try to interfere with your conversation, much to his brother's dismay and terror
Like I said before it’s when you are doing it too much without him, Ryusui does understand that you two can’t be together all the time, you have stuff to do and sometimes it’s nice to be alone. But constantly, or often, ditching your time with him to be with someone else makes him jealous.
His jealousy also makes him show off, even more, just to get your attention or, even better, your compliments. Ryusui will lavish on your compliments like a beautiful calm sea, and it’s a good way to make him less jealous and calm
Another tactic is: demanding you rest. There is a lot of stuff to do, sure, but you wouldn’t want to overdo it would you? Better relax a little bit, Francis is already ready with your favorite food and drink. Ryusui would assure you that it’s okay, no one would bat an eye if they saw you two relaxing
Also… Please imagine Gen using this situation to get more money for ryusui ajsbjs “Oh, but you know! We need their service for the greater world, we don’t want to fall back from sched-“ and ryusui just throws money at him AHHAHA
I also think that, at first, he won’t understand that he is jealous. Ryusui will need either you, or Francois, to actually say it to understand what he is feeling, but then he won’t hide it or be embarrassed at all
"Yeah, I’m jealous. I want to have all your attention, and being the only one in your eyes cutie, you should know by know how greedy I am right?” Ryusui will say it with a huge smirk on his face
You can defiantly tease him about it though, he’ll let you. Smirking and teasing you back probably, holding you by the hips as he so carefully watches you and pulls you for a kiss
As per the “classic” situation of jealousy, Ryusui will simply watch from afar when someone tries to flirt with you. Stone world or modern world everyone would know that you are with him, and like I said before, he trusts you deeply, so unless the person is clearly disrespecting you, or you simply need help, he won’t interfere.
Why go with someone else when he can give you everything you wish for in the world? His endless love, money, status, attention, all you have to do is ask and Ryusui would give it to you no question asked.
You can’t even try to make him jealous on purpose, since Ryusui sees through it way too quickly. He won’t flirt with someone else to make you jealous but will tease you to no end, laughing and kissing all over your face while commenting on how cute you are.
Jealous Ryusui is so needy and clingy, not really leaving your side and wanting your attention all the time. A good way to make his jealousy go away is to cuddle with him before going to sleep, holding him closer to you.

◈ ᴍɪɴᴏʀꜱ/ʙʟᴀɴᴋ/ᴀɢᴇʟᴇꜱꜱ ʙʟᴏɢꜱ ᴡɪʟʟ ʙᴇ ʙʟᴏᴄᴋᴇᴅ ◈
“A personal favorite, black nightshade.” Gen held up the ironically white blossom sporting a vibrant yellow center, showing it off for the both of them to admire while he twirled the severed stem in his fingers, “One I’d often use in my shows because of it’s meaning. Liar.”
With eyes not set on just one bushel of flowers. The woman next to him took a quiet moment to see more than just what the magician was showing her, “Tell me more.”
Gen’s brows pinched together making him look away from the flower in his grasp, “What?”
She cocked a brow up at him inquisitively, “What? I said, tell me more.”
“About...nightshade?”
His confusion made her snicker but quickly she shook her head and pointed at the otherwise disregarded flowers and plants around them on this miniature hike right at the base of the waterfall, “I already know about that one. Tell me about the other flowers.”
At his disposal was no florist shop he could quickly visit to conjure up the correct species with his words. And yet the renewed world was teeming with some varieties he was quite familiar with around the village of science and it’s inhabitants. Gen’s petrification scar curled up into a grin as his own lips found themselves smirking as well, “One you should know because of it’s popularity, a lily. White for a purity. But the red ones for your final goodbye to a loved one. And if that isn’t enough one bearing the color orange might as well be a gift of hatred to a foe.” Gen dug through his knowledge of flowers and recited them all as eloquently as the day he’d been turned to stone, “A hydrangea, a beautiful flower colored by it’s pH balance, may be given in conjunction with an apology or thank you letter. Collect the blossoms from a falling cherry tree and know those petals mean hope and renewal just like the time of year they bloom. Chrysanthemum very much so reflected the imperial family as it was printed on the fifty yen coin. Though we may never care about that anymore thanks to the stone age. And camellias, specifically those striking red ones, were once laid among the mighty samurais that lost their life.”
“Is there a flower you don’t know the meaning to?” She inquired with quite a bit of curiosity after Gen recited his knowledge like he had prepped for a pop quiz. It couldn’t be helped, the smile growing on her lips as the master of slight of hand and apparently flowers stopped to see his audience hanging onto every word he had. Gen’s cheeks came to life with a dusting of blush that would not be deterred even if he looked away from his audience. Who of course giggled at him and reached over to take the nightshade from his fingers, “I’ve loved flowers since I was a little girl. So I’m sorry if I’m being pushy.”
“No no no.” Gen squeaked a little as he tried to disregard her apology as nothing at all, “An engaging audience makes it all the more fun if you ask me. So-” He cleared his throat and mustered his sanity to stay a foot above his blushing complexion when looking back over at her, “What flower exactly do you want to know it’s meaning of? Warning, I may be a little rusty if it’s not native to Japan.”
What he expected was the classics. Asking about a rose. A daisy like the one school kids made chains out of. Even ready for something a little more difficult like a peony or an iris as he recalled them being popular. What he wasn’t ready for was her to immediately get up. No warning. And really no explanation to it. His brows knitted together in confusion when his hiking companion looked as though she’d lost a contact or earring with the way she scanned the ground.
“Um....what are you doing?” Gen titled his head a little unsure if he should assume she was loosing it or worse ate something and was looking for the suspect to show him.
When there was no answer but a good a-ha moment. Gen was not expecting to see her sit back down with the flimsy singular cone petal of common, over growing and weed like morning glory. One she’d pinched a bit of stem off with. And proceeded to present it to him when she sat back down on the log where they’d taken up residency.
Delicate little blue petals with it’s streak of almost pinkish color leading back to it’s stamen. The look of proud satisfaction on her face was more akin to a cat bringing home a dead bird. And not someone who’d picked one of the most common weeds that previously plagued school playgrounds.
Gen finally broke the silence without a lick of understanding, “That’s uh...”
“Morning glory.” She nodded frankly not sharing in his confusion, “Morning glory, right?”
“Yeah....it’s morning glory.” Gen untucked his hands from his robe and pointed at it almost derogatorily, “You know that’s just basically a weed right?”
“Oh I know.” She surprisingly agreed making him wonder why exactly she’d pick that, “But-” Her eyes softened staring down at the little thing when she twirled it between her fingers, “It’s important and I remember it from when I was a kid. Do you know what it means?”
While morning glory was something he’d of never bothered with in an act. It was pretty common so if she really didn’t know it’s meaning Gen was surprised, “Uh, something like, innocence and love, kids would give it to each other kind of thing. Why, did someone give you some or something?”
“No.” She said somberly which Gen was taken back by. As he stared at the flower in her grasp she took one last look at it before reaching out and tucking it behind the short pieces of black hair around his ear. Making the magician freeze with wide eyes when she sat back to inspect the flower tucked in his ear and the endearing look of worry on his face. It made her laugh all the same when Gen’s face officially blossomed in as much red as some of the flowers around them, “No one ever gave me one when I was a kid. So I hope you’ll let me give you this one now even if we’re technically a few centuries old.”
Gen not realizing he’d sucked in a breath and held it before his lungs were burning. Could not bring himself to break eye contact with the woman staring at him across the log. Only reaching up to touch the delicately soft petals of the otherwise useless weed no one spent two seconds on centuries ago. But now it felt like the most valuable flower he’d ever held in his hand.
Not removing it from his ear Gen couldn’t believe the fast one she’d pulled on him when it was his idea in the first place to try and impress her with this nature walk. Still touching the petal tucked against his ear Gen couldn’t stop the sheepish smile breaking his showman façade, “I’d love this flower so much more, if you were perhaps to have a matching one as well.”
“Well then,” She stood up from the log and offered a hand down to the blushing magician, “Our hike isn’t done yet, lets find another one shall we?”

[ senku realizing his feelings for y/n n attempts to confess , frustrated single byakuya , flustered senku , taiju steps in as love counsellor because senku is not romantic at all 😒 , a LOT of time skips lmao ]

dr stone masterlist | main masterlist
"a popular topic!!", a seven year old you raises a hand, gaining everyone's attention.
"who do you like~~?",
your question makes taiju and yuzuriha exchange shy glances with each other and senku does a poker face before resuming his attempt at knitting. ah yes, knitting. it was one of those days where you would knit together like the awfully wholesome friend group that you are, considering knitting is yuzuriha's interest.
byakuya on the other side of the door smiles wickedly at the question. he was about to enter his son's room to give you all snacks that senku threatened him to until you asked.
"i don't think i like someone..." yuzuriha trails off, her reddening cheeks says otherwise though. a soft 'tch' leaves your lips as you let her off the hook, "right... what about you, taiju?" taiju seems to ponder over it for a while before replying, "i like someone but i can't tell who is it yet" "how boring~~ but i'll root for you!!" "thank you, (y/n)"
"senku?", you nudge the boy beside you and he answers in a heartbeat, "i don't care"
you blink your eyes at senku and he spares you a glance, "what?", and byakuya is going to have a heart attack from the next words that you utter.
"in that case, i'll just marry you in the future~!"
senku eyes his dad sitting on the side of his bed, "why are you even here?"
"i'm your dad, why wouldn't i be here~?" byakuya leans in to give senku a hug but he easily dodges, mumbling a 'liar'. byakuya freezes awkwardly, pulling away before finally confessing, "just wondering, are you really not interested in love? because you might end up single like me you know? and i really regret it so much"
"ooo~ single~~ so scary~~", senku mocks, leaning his back on the bed's headboard, "and plus, i'm like seven, calm down old man"
old man..., byakuya cries himself to sleep that night.
"do you really don't have a crush even now?"
a thirteen year old senku groans, "seriously? again? i don't", he continues his experiment for a while before he turns to his dad, furrowing his eyebrows, "why do you even care about my love life?"
"because just like the efforts you've been putting in science, you have to put efforts in the love department too to have the results. go on blind dates or something, don't be like me. now i'm just all alone and sad"
"kay"
"you're not even listening are you?", byakuya gapes in disbelief. however he continues,
"my point is, if you have someone you like, confess alright? so you won't regret it"
and of course it flew over senku's head.
maybe senku should've listened to what his dad told him and study more about romance because three years later, he finds himself wanting to care for you more than anyone.
is this what taiju and yuzuriha feel around each other, he mentally chokes on the thought.
for ishigami senku who has never looked at anyone in that way, it is truly a shock even to himself that he could harbour such feelings. he accepted it pretty quickly since he is after all in tune with his emotions. but accepting does not mean adjusting. nope, far from it. while he hides it quite well, you already hold the full time position of his bestfriend. means that you're almost 24/7 around him. and so, begin the senku in love arc.
"senku, are you free this evening?" you perk your head in from the door, senku's back is facing you as he's assessing his blueprints.
"not really, why? don't tell me you want to buy ice creams again?" he knows you're pouting without even seeing you, you mumbling out a 'jerk'. sound of footsteps followed and he thinks you're going to plead to him like you always do but suddenly his cheeks are cupped and his head is turned to face you. his heart stutters at the contact- woah, did he heard that right? the senku's heart is stuttering?
"please~?? just for one hour and then we can go back to your", you shift your gaze to the incomprehensible equations filled diagrams behind him, "stuffs"
rolling his eyes, he gives in, "fine, fine. we will go buy ice cream. now move along", he peels your hands off his face and urge you to go outside first while he's cleaning up. but you don't realize the moment you're out of his room, senku is hiding his face behind his hand as red hue dusts his cheeks.
it was another day in school of taiju going up to senku in the lab to give his life updates that no one even asked for. "i saw a kitten today when i was cleaning the sports storage room!!" taiju exclaims in excitement. senku doesn't even bother lifting his head from the apparatus (typical) as he asks, "what colour was it?".
"it's a black cat!! and it was so cute!! i think it was a baby.. he looked so cold though so i gave him my jacket", taiju rambles as senku chuckles, "you're saying you left your jacket just like that just so he won't get cold? that's very you" "i can just take it tomorrow", he replies nonchalantly before leaning in, "by the way, what are you doing later?"
"i'm going to confess"
taiju takes a weird look at his bestfriend before crossing his arms, "who do you like? you never told me? since when? how?" truth be told, his first instinct was to laugh out loud at his face at the very un-senku thing but again, it's senku. he doesn't make jokes unless it's about life threatening situations. senku stops doing what he was doing and turns to his best friend- oh he's serious, taiju thinks - to answer, "y/n. it's not that important. last year actually. just walk up straight to them and confess"
a sense of pride fills taiju as he finally has something he's wayyy better at in than senku, "that won't do", taiju shakes his head. senku lifts his eyebrows, "what do you mean? it's a ten billion percent foolproof plan. it's literally the only thing needed" "which is why it won't be romantic!!", his best friend argues.
i can't believe i'm about to do this, senku rolls his eyes as he sighs, "what's your plan then?"
you were arranging your books into your bag to go home when senku enters your peripheral vision, him leaning against the door of your classroom. you then hear murmurs of your classmates who are all fawning over him- he is indeed an eye candy, you gotta give him that. finished, you make a beeline towards him and immediately dragging him by the hand to a place a little further from the class before you stop, eyeing him up and down, "you never did this"
"what? walk home with you?", your lips twitch into a sarcastic grin as if to say 'duh' to his response, "you don't want it?" "of course i want, it's just so out of th- waah!!"
"let's go then", he cuts you off, hand swiftly changing position as he's the one dragging you to the gates. baffled by his sudden actions, you choose to remain silent along the walk. senku has never been one to dash first to the house once the school bell rings. he rather coops himself up in his precious little lab. on the other hand, taiju and yuzuriha too always have after-school activities so that leaves you to be a lone wolf (not that you mind) when walking home.
walking home with someone feels refreshing. more that the fact that that someone is your crush. so it makes you all giddy inside at the silent adoration that you can do the whole walk. (he's doing the same but you don't need to know that).
approaching the intersection where you two supposedly split up, you pull his hand -and promptly freezes at the realization that you two are still holding hands- and he looks at you with a "hmm?". "i'll swing by later okay~", and he pulls his hand away from you (ouch), "sure"
senku watches as you start to walk away before he reminds himself of his plan, "wait"
you look over your shoulder to see him catching up to you in a such leisure manner, and you prepare yourself to face the dread that is coming in the form of him threatening you to bring him snacks like the ass that he is. you were prepared to let your wallet dry up in the name of "science extra budgets". but none of that comes as he halts his walking when he arrives right in front of you.
you could almost listen how hard your heart was thumping as he continues to stare into your eyes, and you're about to cut it off by saying a random joke but he beats you to it when he suddenly takes your hand. in the next moment, you feel a slight weight on your ring finger and you peer down to see a ring..... made out of paper? you shift your gaze back to his face as he plasters a soft smile,
"hope you're still up to marry me"
coming up with a romantic confession that's so simple n feels senku-ed was.... a stuggle until queen taylor came 😋💞 also fun fact this is actually the first fic that i've squealed outwardly to so that says something
"Another bouquet for you, Master (Y/n)," Francois gracefully bows as she presented a posy of camellia flowers to you. Heaving another sigh, you carefully took them in your arms and thanked the diligent butler. Not that you weren't grateful, it's just that today marks the seventh day of you being in the receiving end of these elegant gifts.
Holding the bouquet close to yourself, you eyed the surrounding nature around the Science Kingdom's current camp. Throughout 3700 years of petrification, mother nature was given a second chance and did not disappoint. A new world with zero to no pollution disrupting the natural beauty of earth, where even these native flowers of Japan in your grasp seem more ethereal than ever.
Closing your eyes and feeling the breeze of wind, you hummed a soft tune as you returned to your resting hut. Gently, you placed the camellia flowers in a clay vase you made with Senku the other day, along with the other flowers you have received. A soft smile graced your lips as you ran your fingers across one of its petals.
Of course, you weren't stupid. You knew who the culprit behind all this is. Heck, he's been bugging you ever since he was de-petrified by the revival fluid. He's there while you work with Senku in making the Perseus, or while you're busy finding materials with Chrome. You're not blind to the subtle flirts he throws at you, but with rationality in mind, you knew feelings aren't necessary in this journey to revive humanity. Atleast, not yet.
Still, it is truly endearing how stubborn he can be.
"(Y/n)! How'd you like today's gift?"
Speaking of the devil, Ryusui barged into your hut to engulf you in a tight hug from behind as he looked over your shoulder. His eyes glimmered in excitement upon seeing the dozens of beautiful flowers arranged neatly in your vase. Feeling the slight heat rising to your cheeks, you looked away and tried to pry his arms off of your body.
"It's really pretty and I'm thankful to you, Ryusui," You muttered under your breath,
"-but how many times must I remind you to knock on the door first before entering a woman's room? That's kinda unfit for a gentleman, is it not?"
He laughed it off, the rumble of his chest against your back amplifying the emotions you felt. The feelings you wanted so badly to turn your back upon, but he was making it ten times more difficult.
Sensing your discomfort, he reluctantly released his hold on you. Bearing a big grin as you turned to face him, he boasted,
"Plucking those flowers for you is a no problem, m'lady,"
You barely had time to protest when he sneaked a hand to grab yours and brought it to his lips, kissing it softly.
"-and I'll keep doing so until you give in to your heart."
Frowning, you retracted your hand from him. "I've told you this already, I'm not ready for love...Our focus should be in aiding Senku in reviving humanity, we don't have time to screw around."
You sighed when you saw his puppy eyes still shining confidently even after you blatantly rejected him.
"I know. That still won't stop me though." He said.
Bringing a hand to facepalm yourself, you made a mental note to ask Senku to keep him occupied with work instead of disturbing you.
"Alright, alright. You do you, I guess-"
You were about to walk past him to leave the hut when he immediately blocked your path with his towering figure.
"(Y/n), let me set things straight." He brushed a finger to your chin gently, luring your eyes to look at him. For the first time, you held your breath and gazed into his brown irises, allowing him to speak.
"I've always been spoiled, and I always get what I want." He spoke, sounding more and more persistent by the second. With an eyebrow raised, you grumbled mentally,
'Yeah, so you're a spoiled brat, nothing new.'
You've always known him to be attractive but when it's this close, you just couldn't help yourself when you felt your heart skip a beat. Pink tainted his cheeks and shallow breaths leave his lips, in which you find yourself longing for.
"The flowers, are a significant message that I want you to understand." He continued, serious. "You are one of the many things I want, and I'll get what I want, even if it takes a millennia,"
You felt your body tense, feeling flustered. "I'm willing to wait for you, and those flowers are the constant reminders that I will have you someday."
He moved his forehead to bump against yours,
"-Because I desire you, (Y/n), and I will stop at nothing for you."
He gave one last smile before tapping your cheek and turning to leave, thus giving you the privacy you deserve.
As soon as he was out of sight, you grabbed the nearest chair next to you and quickly dropped on the seat. Looking down to your feet, you could feel your whole body burning in the same desire that he yearns for you. You chuckled softly, cupping your face with your hands to hide the rosy cheeks.
