Alright, saved the “best” for last... and that’s 7 as promised...  Take care and stay safe everyone, until next time, whenever that is.

i spent about 3 months working on and off trying to draw this...well... admittedly half that was trying to draw the ‘real’ version of this idea that no one would want to see even if i were allowed to post it (and i couldn’t finish it anyways, so it’s not an issue)... but i think this works okay for a salvage effort...

It’s actually something not many people know but... there are times when Wavey doesn’t want to be her typical childish, “cute” self... she does actually like to “feel pretty” sometimes...  i still have a quite vivid memory of the one time in role-playing with a friend of our ponies going to a shopping mall and how beyond incredulous they were that i had Wavey buy some hoof-polish (the equivalent for fingernail polish), heh...

Despite definitely not deserving to... Wavey (and i) still have a huge crush on Puppysmiles (who belongs to @askpuppysmiles) and H4x (who belongs to Retl)... so i wanted to draw them one more time... though i never asked permission to include them in my original idea... and honestly it’s okay if they said “no”, i’d understand... but... yeah...  i thought it would be nice to have them being happy and supportive of “a side of her that she has trouble accepting”... which is actually... not entirely different from the original idea after all...

Ah, for the first time in forever i somehow managed to draw something in time for “a special occasion”... i’ve been trying to very slowly draw “every pokemon i like” from the very beginning of the pokedex... but Vileplume has always had a special place in my heart for how absolutely soft and cuddly it looks... so since today is Wavey’s “birthday” (9/12), i skipped ahead a few spots to draw the two precious flowers together <3

Well... i mostly finished it in time, i suppose... i was trying to do an alternate version also... but i don’t know a single person who would have actually wanted to see that if i had managed to finish it... so i ended up giving up on that since i ran out of time to work anyways...  i’m sure it would have been “cute” though.

Ah... probably the one everyone* was waiting for... because as much as i hate myself for all the problems i caused as part of the FoE / FoE:PH community, i still care deeply for the characters...

These were all drawn using the finger-painting on my kindle... 1 and 2 were done for a 2021 “Ponytober” event with the prompts “Best Pony” and “Favorite Ship”... i think... and the third was trying to do “something cute” for Boo’s birthday last month...

Well 7′s certainly more responses than i thought i’d get... thank you all uvu <3

i suppose the poetic place to start would be the last picture i was working on before my departure... but also because i keep using any excuse i can to show off this picture because it’s one of my /very few/ pieces i’ve done that i am actually proud of...

My main character from World of Warcraft, the “Ice Cream Mage” Ryou on the left, and her best friend Li Li Stormstout on the right... and Lodore, the best Zergling plushie ever peeking through the railing below them.  Even though i can’t play anymore i’m still quite fond of Li Li, and i enjoy the thought that they continue to terrorize Azeroth having fun exploring, adventuring, but also having some quiet moments like this together.

Ah, at the end of 2020 slash start of 2021 i decided it “was time to retire” Wavey and the Pokemon sonas i had been using, and design a new “more original” character to represent me... so i basically took a bunch of design traits i like on other characters and just kinda... mushed them together to make this... my (half-slime) living doll, “the Witch of Crayons”...

As you might expect, it didn’t go as well as i had hoped... i still had tons of trouble drawing her, and the few friends i was regularly interacting with at the time didn’t care about her any more than they did my other sonas, so she never really got any use... Well... @pumpkinspice-pony at least was super nice, and drew some very adorable pictures [NSFW warning for other posts on their twitter though].

i do still love my doll (though i never got used to calling her by her witch-name “Nichts”, and never really felt right calling her Wavey...) but i have since shifted back to feeling like it was more okay to think of myself as Wavey again.

i think a majority of what i’ve been doing since tumblr has been Pokemon related pieces, with one of the most significant being a 3 month long (and successfully completed) project to design some fun variants of the much reviled “it’s just an ice cream cone” Pokemon, Vanillite.

When i was getting close to finishing the project i started realizing there were so many more things i “could” do though, but for the sake of being able to say it was “complete” i decided not to do them, also because i wasn’t confident in being able to come up with 2-600 more designs, heh.  Two years later in 2021 i did end up revisiting it briefly though, as i was in a huge Star Wars mood and got the idea stuck in my head that the Dark/Steel cross-crossbreed would be the perfect opportunity to use a design based on the Death Star.

... and i think that’s actually the first Star Wars related thing i’ve draw since creating this tumblr account and putting “Ryx’s Jedi Sketchbook” as its title...

Speaking of things that aren’t what i should be doing...

i think i’ve mentioned before i have a friend that pretends to be Pokemon with me when i’m around...  Well... one of their current forms is a hybrid Pokemon that they purchased as an adoptable, and the other day they were showing me another adoptable they’d seen that “[i] would like”, but had already been bought...

i’m pretty much entirely against adoptables, so it wasn’t a huge loss (although i did like their character concept...), but it did get me started thinking about just what Pokemon i would pick if i were to create a hybrid character for myself...

My friend isn’t much for quadrupeds... and trying to pick a Pokemon i like that isn’t horribly over-used is already pretty tough... but i did finally decide on Sneasel for the first component (which it turns out i don’t think they like either, so good job me...) and for the second, i ended up choosing Litwick.  Primarily because i wanted something gooey... but also because i like the ice and fire types cancelling each other out.  To that point, the ear feather is just a colorful feather and /not/ an actual flame.

It also left me with an admittedly much simpler set of appearances to combine than i was really planning on, so it actually made it slightly difficult to choose what to do...

i know you aren’t supposed to combine hiragana and katakana in Japanese... but i really like the way the letters look together like that... and changing either syllable would take away from the meaning... or maybe not.  No, actually after research it would have worked /just fine/ to have the whole thing in hiragana, i’m just lame.  But yeah... “moshi” as a prefix that means the clause can be omitted, and “nyuu” as the combination between the sound of a cat (nyaa) and “weasel” (yuu).

i could talk about ability and move choices too, but i think i’ve said enough for now.

Maybe i can talk about them if i ever actually finish the second picture “with the info on it in an artistic way” how i thought it would make a nice avatar...

Well i tried drawing Wavey’s costume, and it went about as well as expected, no reason to even post it...  Tried to work some on my WoW portrait... thought i figured out a change to the pose that would work, but it ended up causing more problems...  Then ended up just hastily scribbling up my favorite filly in another dumb anime costume that no one would recognize even if i finished it.

That’s all.  Going to go collapse now.  Have a safe Halloween / Nightmare Night etc tomorrow, everyone.
