— * for @ryxyeonhee !
he was never one for going out after school; it was always the same routine over and over again. finish school, go home and stay home. it was a cycle he hardly ever broke, but only broke when one of his friends needed him. luckily for him, he didn’t have many friends, so the amount of people he would actually spend time with willingly was barely a handful. today was a nice day, too, so that also played a large part in him actually wanting to stay out of the mansion today. the sun wasn’t too harsh and the wind wasn’t too powerful, and the ground was dry enough for them to sit on the grass without staining their uniforms— to jun, it was almost the perfect day to stay outside.
if only they could stay like this for a little while longer.
bodyguards were keeping their distance from the two friends, jun glaring until they gave enough space for the both of them to communicate without him feeling very uncomfortable. his head was currently laying on her lap, the both of them laughing about how energetic they were when they were younger; typically, yeonhee was still lively, but jun had lost that spark a long time ago. how she managed to still see the good in him when all he felt was darkness was truly something he could never understand. in a way, she was like a twin sister to him: both equally protective and understanding, which jun needed very much. ( even if he never let her into the small details that made him who he is. ) through it all she has always been his friend, and he was forever grateful.
❝ don’t you miss having freedom as a kid? i feel more contained with bodyguards following us around, you know? ❞ he paused, his fingertips playing with the ends of her hair with a pout on his lips. ❝ i just wish i could go back to a time where nothing was expected of me. i miss having fun. ❞
jun then sat up, a uncharacteristically mischievous grin on his face as he leaned close to her ear, even if he knew that she was the only one who could hear him if he spoke normally. ❝ let’s break the rules, yeonhee-yah! ❞ he eyed the three bodyguards just twenty feet away, nodding his head encouragingly to get her on his side. ❝ let’s ditch the guards when they have their backs turned away and travel through the city. it’ll be lots of fun, we never get to do this! ❞ poking her cheek, he gave her forced puppy-dog eyes, a pleading expression clear in his eyes. ( honestly, he just didn’t want to be home, and he knew yeonhee would always have his back during moments like this. )
❝ the trouble will be worth it, i promise. ❞
