It is such an awkward balance... We often eye the pokepasta community's tendency to woobify some of the characters with mild wariness, specifically in regards to how often Lost Silver's protag gets Babyfied (and as a result S!3v3n, who has nebulous ties to him as "the cause for his imprisonment in death", semi-consistently instead gets turned into his caretaker of sorts).
We're aware that it could come across as ableist.... it sort of implies that without his limbs he's seen as more infantile, it's a more consistent and extreme interpretation than even with Blake, who is very similar in being the same source, but has more of his limbs left...
But then.... There's me.... an introject of Lost Silver's protag, who is a regressor and is often regressed when I front......
And then also..... More by chance than any actual association (we don't consider the Strangled Red crossover fic 'canon' in any major way).... Our S!3v3n introject IS my caregiver, since he's also in pokepasta circles and therefore has no issue with grimdark things....... And also we read the original character as very sympathetic, and deeply caring, so it's a natural development of how the alter formed.....
It's a very frustrating juxtaposition.... Knowing and wanting to be the change we want to see, by not uwuifying these characters, but also.... Anything we make for ourselves is going to be made to appeal to S!3v3n and I, so. It's still going to just add to the fandom's tendencies, with or without the nuance....
I'm just letting it go as best as I can, but it's something we think on a lot....
