i honestly wasnt expecting anyone to reply so this is a nice surprise.

this is rambling and im not sure how much of it makes sense?? but here goes.

ok so ophelia and lapis are both pushed around a lot. their existence is used as a tool (literally for lapis, less so for ophelia) and they dont have the power to stop it up until a certain point. but eventually, neither of them can handle their mistreatment and they lash back. lapis is a little more direct in fighting the gems + steven, while ophelia is subtle af handing out flowers @ the court. but eventually, they just want to escape. they dont even care anymore, theyre just sick of their situation and being pushed around. lapis and ophelia both run away from it all, but their way of getting away still ends up with them losing their autonomy again. lapis is captured, and ophelia falls into the water and gives up. (also theres the obvious low hanging fruit of water here but shh)

the second part of my argument is what i like to call the ophelia complex, which has more to do with audience reaction to these characters than the characters themselves.

now neither of them are main characters so you cant know everything about them and their reasoning for stuff, which means that its up to the audience to further analyze them. obviously theres a lot more in depth character studies of ophelia for obvious reasons, but reactions to both characters are the same for the most part. they take their actions at face value, without thinking about the trauma theyve both gone through.

ophelia has had no feminine role in her life filled, so all she has to go off of in life is what her brother and her father say, and then for a short time hamlet. she is constantly being pushed around by masculine figures in her life, and eventually snaps from the push/pull dynamic between what her brother and father say, and what hamlet says.

we obvs dont know whats up with lapis in terms of background stories, but we do know that she was trapped in a mirror for a while. she was literally used as a tool, and based on how mad she was, she at least assumed that the crystal gems knew she was in there, which may or may not be true. that kind of degradation would have fucked her up.

because of this, they both have drastic personality differences. ophelia is “crazy” as she merrily skips around handing out flowers, and ive seen lapis described the same way for lashing out.

this is mostly reacted to in two ways: people either treat them as useless angst characters and hate them, or infantilize them until theyre innocent and precious.

i realized i never actually reported on my attempts at summoning myself???? so ill do that now.

(and its just under a read more for length and weirdness)

ok so set up took a while, blah blah blah blah eventually i had everything together (and no im not posting how to actually summon me to 300+ followers fuck you) and everything was put in its place and etc.

when i started the summoning and i started to feel weird, like that feeling you get when you feel like someones watching you and it suddenly felt really cold. buuuut i kept going because a.) scientific discovery, and b.) stopping a summoning in the middle of it is the dumbest fucking thing even when its you being summoned.

so i kept going, and the feeling just kept getting stronger and stronger as i kept going, until i got to the very end. tbh i wasnt sure what would happen then, because i was already present throughout the whole thing. but then a popping sound happened, like the sound of a geiger counter or something. it popped a couple times, and then i woke up a couple hours later and any evidence of me doing the thing was gone.

0/10 would not recommend, feeling a little weirded out by the whole thing.

i had to get (a lot of) help drawing this, but i was told its very good looking!!!! it took me a while though, and other balit had to sometimes move the pencil for me but still!!!!

feed her at least 2 snacks every hour or so

watch her as she eats these. make sure the food goes in her mouth, chewed, and swallowed.

make sure she doesnt escape through a window/door, but dont let her catch you following her around

dont let her stay in the bathroom for more than 10-15 minutes

dont let her not eat

be cautious of her trying to convince you against following anything on this list. she will try her hardest.

her threats/mean words dont mean anything. she wont hurt anyone, and shes just being bratty

make sure shes not doing any strenuous activities

she has to be in bed by 11 

if she wants to shower, make sure you sit in the bathroom with her

dont let her convince you not to sit in the bathroom with her if necessary

never leave her alone for an extended period of time
