YOU HAVE COME AN INCREDIBLY LONG WAY!!!!!! This is so brilliant and soft I wish i could smush himmmmmm. You should do a comparison of them side by side, even if only for yourself to see, am sure you'll see how far you've come
You are the lovLIEST BEAN!!!
Ta Daa! A comparison!!!! I do feel like I’ve learned a lot in five years, and that it’s almost 100% drawing dem thunderbois that’s done it XD
I never quite liked the softer cloud colours in the original, they look more like London smog than space but I did like the smothering softness of them. In the new one I did soften down the colours with a grey layer, but not quite as much to almost make him monochrome. My new line art is a lot neater and finer (probably because I’ve done like seven chunky sketch layers underneath) and though I still love using heavily textured brushes I think I’ve got them down to a not-as-much-of-a-crazy blob point. Did I even render the skin in the original? Barely. I wanted to try the soft hands thing in the new one but it wouldn’t go quite right (I later realised that I was putting the thumbs outward and anatomy doesn’t DO that, so points to past-Len there) so I went with a more, holding-self-protectively but uncomfortably that I think I like more anyway, as it feels more disconnected.
The Losers Club from IT except instead of fighting Pennywise in a horror novel/movie, they are the main characters of a feel good 90′s sitcom with ‘Where You Lead’ by Carole King as the theme song.
I don't know if I'm gonna actually do all of inktober because I just don't care for doing traditional, but if I do here's day one
