The streets were quiet, darkness had set in hours ago and the dark haired girl walking down the sidewalk listening to the rhythmic sound of her feet as she approached the Screaming Bean Cafe. She’d been working late tonight and still had things she needed to do, luckily the place was still open as she tugged the door and squinted slightly as her eyes adjusted to the difference in light. She gave the woman behind the counter a small smile and looked around at the nearly empty cafe before ordering herself a large coffee. She blinked a few times, hoping the tired would wane in anyway possible. She sat down at a table and tipped the coffee to her lips taking a small slow sip and inhaling a deep breath. Her eyes catching another pair across the empty room, she offered them a small smile before fixing her gaze out the window, trying to make out things in the dark.

It’d been a while since Morgan had been back to Silver Lake. She looked through her phone slightly confused before gently tapping the stranger, “Can you show me where Blue Moon is? I have my first day tomorrow, and honestly I’m a little lost.”

Running her hands over the small bump on her stomach. “I swear I’m not sure I’ll ever get used to this.”

justin was maybe ten feet from the coffee shop, a small sigh of relief escaping him. he was sure nothing would happen between the few steps he had to take across the street to reach his destination. he was wrong though, as a passerby walked out of a nearby alleyway, startling him enough for him to slip on the wet pavement, nearly stumbling over. luckily, he had good balance. he quickly jogged across the street, running a hand through his hair, his cheeks flushed a bright red. “— you didn’t see that, right ? heh…”

Jupiter sat alone at the edge of Silver Lake, staring out across the still water of the lake. The air had gone frigid in the past few days, and it had only added to the eerie feeling of isolation he’d started feeling at the start of the month. It was almost funny; he had been so content these past two years in being alone, keeping his head down, but it was almost like all that time had suddenly caught up to him, leaving him feeling completely, utterly alone.

Sighing, Jupiter zipped up his North Face and reached into the pocket to pull out his Zippo. He rolled it back and forth between his hands, feeling the cool metal against his palms.

When she first started being a stripper at the end of the night her everything would hurt. But now, the aches and pains were just apart of what made her job. It was just before closing time and she was sitting down at the bar when she felt the doors open, she sighed. “If you want something, you better make it quick.”

“Um.. have you seen this little kitten? She’s shy and gentle. She’s been missing for three days. Her name’s Angel.” He holds up his phone, obvious worry in his eyes.
