Here's S.P.E.A.R. short for Space Patrol Enforcement Armor. He's a robot that was created by an otherworldly force and has crashed down to earth, his exterior armor may look rusty, but internally he's almost brand new.
The first time Robo meets S.P.E.A.R. is a good 5 years after S.P.E.A.R. first lands on earth. They immediately start fighting, and Robo is defeated. As Robo comes to, S.P.E.A.R. is standing over him, curiously looking. The two start to talk and eventually they become friends and partners in battling evil.
