“taehee-ssi, perhaps you would like a guesting on awsaz?” the rest of the group let out a laugh at haechan’s teasing, and the female idol was quick to protest yet with a frown.
“we’re not awkward with each other!” she defended, before turning to xiaojun with an expecting, “right?”
“oh-uh, yes! we aren’t!” though as enthusiastic he tried to sound, the other members quickly caught on to how he hesitated for a short second before he could answer, amusing them.
mark bursts into another fit of laughter when he sees taehee’s shoulders visibly slump, holding onto her dearly so he wouldn’t topple over the seat. “come on, man!” she hears lucas say from her other side, “we’re the same age!”
“that’s right!” taehee suddenly says, eyes going wide as if she had discovered something new before offering a conclusion, “then, we’ll work hard to get to know each other more and get closer!”
“mhm, good job~” haechan coos at her as he nods, meanwhile taeil says, “you didn’t know that (you were the same age)?”
mark swears his stomach was gonna hurt from laughing that taehee and xiaojun each had to hold his arm and leg to prevent him from falling.
“of course, i knew,” she answers right back, eyes flickering to xiaojun for a bit as if to reassure him, “you know, i was wrapping it up nicely but then you just cut through like that!” taehee then exclaimed, holding her fingers up into scissors as her brows furrowed into a slight frown, causing taeil to grin in amusement and nod, proceeding with the interview.
“okay~ we’ll be seeing you in awsaz soon!”
2. xiaojun cheering for taehee in nct world

“TAEHEE, LET’S GO!” they all screamed at the top of their lungs as they let their ‘hidden card’ step forward. taehee may not be the strongest out of all of them but there is a certain amount of skill you have to possess when it comes to arm wrestling.
“you better not go easy on me,” taehee tells sungchan seriously once they’ve linked hands. the boy could only chuckle in response before nodding, “of course.”
(only mark and haechan were the ones to notice how the girl raked her eyes up and down on sungchan, and even if they weren’t on the receiving end of her intimidating stare, they felt goosebumps running along the hairs of their skin as they watched. “wah,” haechan sighed, “noona’s really scary.” meanwhile, mark comments on how taehee’s not only strong, but she can most probably tire out sungchan from his previous game with xiaojun. “right,” jaehyun agrees with him after, “she knows how to strategize well though.”)
the game finished in a quick five seconds, and it wasn’t surprising that taehee had won in the end.
“you did a great job!” xiaojun beams as they were walking back to their tent, “you’re so strong.”
“nah, i just knew what he was doing,” she brushes off, trying to bite back a smile at the boy, “you’re the one with the flexible wrist— that was so funny!”

“you smell like fart today,” the younger boy’s mouth drops open in bafflement, wide eyes turning into crescents as he laughed over taehee’s statement — what’s funnier is that she seemed to have no clue of what she had just said to him.
“what was that?”
“you smell like fart today,” she slowly repeated, still holding the same innocent smile she had when she had walked there, “why? was my pronunciation wrong?”
“it’s perfect,” he was actually telling the truth, “but who taught you that?”
“xiaojun,” and as if on cue, you could hear the man’s boisterous laughter off-screen, both heads turning to him as he laughed.
taehee suddenly whips her head back to chenle with a gasp, “i swear, if he did the same thing as renjun—”
“your pronunciation is perfect, noona,” he cut her off, yet she doesn’t seem convinced with the sly smirk he had on his lips, “try telling that to kun hyung.”
he pushes her gently to the side, planning to give out more mask necklaces and hears her shout another chinese phrase — one that she actually knew, “i’m not a dummy! ya, xiao dejun!”

“whenever renjun would come over to the dorms recently, he had taehee come with him,” xiaojun shared with a small smile, readjusting his position on the small couch as he talked on the live.
“he and yangyang would stay in yangyang’s room, while taehee would hang out in my room,” he explained, “sometimes hendery would go to my room too and we’d all hang out there. and what’s funny is that when we hear someone shout ‘let’s eat! from outside, it’s the only time we come out of our rooms before we go back in.”
a soft laugh comes from him as he realizes how close they’ve become, “we’re good friends now. they’re like the cousins who come over almost every weekend, yeah. we’d sing songs, play games, play with bella….they’re fun company.”

TH: i can understand what you’re saying! (xiaojun and chenle both laugh at her interjection.)
TH: (she sees xiaojun’s mask necklace) woah— what’s that?
CL: a mask necklace.

CL: nope, jisung did.
(xiaojun lets his eyes wander around the room before spotting jisung, quickly shouting a ‘thanks’ and ‘i love you’ before looking away.)
TH: do i have one?
CL: yes, but i made it so i’m not giving it to you.
TH: what— (xiaojun chuckles at the way her jaw drops open incredulously) that doesn’t make sense!
(chenle imitates her reaction and laughs.)
(chenle comes back with her mask necklace and hands it to taehee.)
CL: this is yours~
(the pattern of her chain had alternating colors of white and light blue. some of the pendants attached to it include a ghost emoji, a wave emoji, a lemon, a mic, and the letter ‘t’ and ‘j’ on each end.)
TH: it’s pretty! (jokingly) can i sell it? (xiaojun laughs at this.)
CL: actually, i made that with the thought of chubs, so it’s really not for you.
TH: (nodding) ahh, so i can use it as a leash then?
CL: mmm, probably not. it might break since she keeps running around.
XJ: (smiling at taehee) chubs is that active?
TH: you wouldn’t want to know.

ok but what do we think about taehee and xiaojun.... he’s my bias so i got some favoritism
should’ve made them appear on awsaz w yuta 😭😭 that would’ve been so cute
but off cam, they’re actually getting along well !!!! it’s just that they had a shy start at first but they bond over their similarities (esp over their love for mint choco ice cream) so it’s all good 😌
