unpopular opinion i'm praying that samira is robby's new protege in s2 because a teacher who pushes you to reach your full potential isn't inherently abusive. a mentor who can break through your self-imposed limitations can transform your career and identity and i think the reflex to paint robby as a villain in that role is hyperbolic.
is he taking his emotions out on people in s1? absolutely. but i'd argue he's doing a hell of a better job keeping the extent of it under wraps in circumstances that are far worse than what the vast majority of people experience. we see that every single character in the pitt takes their baggage to work in s1; robby's is just more obvious because his weighs the heaviest on that particular day.
i also think it's important to remember that while mohan is nodding and smiling at one patient's life story, three others are dying. while she's holding up a phone for a patient to film a tiktok, her coworkers are picking up the slack. robby isn't out of line to call her out on that. it's literally the nature of the er beast and i don't think it's wrong for him to remind her that she has options if she can't adapt.
BUT. i also think he is rooting for her to adapt. in a way, we even get confirmation that his teaching method was right: mohan needed to be pushed out of her comfort zone to break through her limitations. i really hope that after pittfest she comes back in s2 as a better er doctor who appreciates that robby didn't give up on her when he absolutely could have.
