Everything was finally as it should be. His parents were both alive and well. He would have the opportunity to get to know Iris in a way that was destined to get them both married. There was apparently already some hero speedster here because he’d been hearing the name ‘Kid Flash’ around town. He hoped the hero wasn’t an actual kid because being a superhero really wasn’t something a child should be burdened with. But in any case, it was nice to know he could take it easier now.
For the first time in his life, Barry finally felt like he could relax.
The only thing out of place in this perfect world was Eobard Thawne. It had been a real pain to drag that man along to this point in time and to find a suitable way to keep him locked up. Thankfully he’d been knocked out and out for the count for a good while. Finding a remote and secluded place and setting up a big enough cage that was secure enough to hold the villain hadn’t been the easiest thing to do. And having a struggling, probably pissed off Reverse Flash to restrain without any help on top of that would have been near impossible.
As he looked at the unconscious man, the brunet wished he could just forget about him, leave him in that cage to rot. The other speedster would surely do that should their positions be reversed. Maybe not the man that had mentored him – or at least he still hoped that Eobard wouldn’t. But this one had only ever hated him. For what, Barry still didn’t understand.
Yet, the young hero could never be that cruel. So no matter how wonderfully normal the rest of his life was now, he would have to face his enemy daily. Probably even twice per day. Something he was certainly not looking forward to.
Patiently but reluctantly, he waited in front of the cell with his arms crossed in front of him until the guy woke up.
