canon era | Arthur POV | restrained angst | s5ep08
Merlin circled the table as if nothing was wrong, as if his two-day disappearance didn’t meant anything at all. He moved with care, favouring his right leg; but whenever he forgot himself and stepped on it properly, he began to limp without mercy.
No—of course he offered no explanation for his little truancy. As always. And what explanation was there to give? Everything was plain enough. It wasn’t as though he’d merely been worn down by a long road…
No. Explanations were for men who didn’t have some girl on their mind.
A secret favourite, for whose sake he had abandoned his king for two long days and two miserable nights—without warning, without a word, without so much as a shred of remorse. Or perhaps it was a favourite of another kind, which, when it came to Merlin, always seemed the likelier option to Arthur.
Arthur knew what he had a right to: anger, certainly. Answers. An apology. But not jealousy—no. Jealousy was not among a king’s privileges. He had no claim to it.
And yet, watching his servant—tired, lame, and scowling—pace around the table, Arthur felt the fury rise all the same. He put on a show of cheer, laughed too loudly, and leaned too hard on the wine—because of jealousy. Because of it.
y'know, considering the boys ended up working on a movie set during a hunt and Gabriel shoved them into multiple sitcoms, you'd think they wouldn't be so out of place on the Supernatural set
Me every time I’m about to rewatch “Bound for Rescue”: That one Hondo line can’t be nearly as wild as I remember it
That one Hondo line: The truth is, I have my sights set on more nefarious criminals than I. A businessman who will pay handsomely for a Jedi-- a female Jedi at that. Oh, by the way. They don't care if you're dead or alive.
Me: No, yeah, that sounds about right
