some thoughts i have from last night’s episode, contains spoilers obviously

i hate how octavia is one of the only characters who constantly needs to earn her redemption/forgiveness meanwhile everyone else just gets a pass on their fuck ups after a little while. they never have to apologize or talk thru it, everyone usually just starts working together again bc some other threat came up. like bellamy and the other characters can find it in themselves to forgive everyone else for everything, like he forgave echo for trying to murder his sister and then literally got mad at octavia bc she hadn’t gotten over it. and abby and kane get a free pass for what happened in the bunker, but octavia is responsible for absolutely every action in there.

also it made me so mad how octavia blames herself for the world ending when that blame can be placed entirely on clarke and mccreary. and lowkey kane and diyoza for giving him their plans, because without that, their march on the valley would’ve been successful. and if they hadn’t sabotaged every plan octavia had to get the valley, they would’ve succeeded in living there. but still, it was mccreary who decided to blow up the only living valley on earth, and he was able to get the one up on wonkru bc of clarke, kane, and diyoza.

if all these other characters can get a pass for literally all of their mistakes - and EVERY single character has made mistakes they should be held accountable for i’m not picking and choosing certain characters - they have got to stop making octavia jump thru hoops and stop throwing her to the side instead of trying to help her through her issues. obviously it’s fine and i like it that she wants to redeem herself for her past actions, but i hate that no other character on the show has to work as hard to remedy their mistakes.

lastly, marie acted the hell out of octavia’s scenes with pike and blodreina, but it absolutely rubs me the wrong way that pike was the one to echo what lincoln stood for and tap back into octavia’s humanity, he was a horrid human being and 100% deserved to die.

What's one thing you want to see in season 6?

oooh i really want everyone to find out the truth about the dark year, they all think octavia just killed her own people and forced people to eat them for no reason basically, which is so frustrating because no one would do that for fun, so obviously there has to be more to that story but they’re just ignoring it.

i hope people realize octavia didn’t make all these decisions alone. she was super young when she came into power and had a whole ass doctor telling her what to do, like abby was equally responsible for this in my opinion because she not only suggested it in the first place, she also suggested octavia kill people for not eating so they wouldn’t all starve to death.

understanding wonkru and the bunker is obviously overwhelming when confronted with all of it, but bellamy especially was really frustrating in my opinion because just blamed octavia for everything when he never took half a second to understand what happened, he just expected her to do what he said because he’s the leader and she’s the younger sister. i know it’s really complicated, but it’s like he was just ignoring that they lived in peace on the ring for six years while wonkru had the hardest times of their lives.

edit - also this isn’t an anti post about any character, i love bellamy and octavia and all the other characters even if i find some of this stuff frustrating!

I liked your trailer thoughts, I'm really confused about the trailer and I miss Earth, this almost doesn't feel like The 100 anymore.

i agree! earth was always the goal and heart of the show, it’s not the same now that it’s gone. that’s why i’m kinda surprised that it looks like they’re basically doing the same storyline on a different planet - they land on a new planet and things go to shit between them and the native people there. that general storyline led to the destruction of the earth, so i hope they’re not doing it again.

Have you seen some of the new-ish information about season 6? What do you think about it, are you excited or worried for Octavia?

i’ve been craaaazy busy lately so i haven’t caught as much as i probably could have, but i’ve seen bits and pieces! i’d say i’m equally worried and excited at the moment, but i was for season 5 too and we all saw how that ended up.

the thing i’m worried about is the octavia/bellamy/echo conflict they’ve mentioned will still be a factor, i get why they’re doing it, but i just dislike it so much. i’m also a little worried about what we’ve heard about octavia and jordan, i think they could be really good friends considering they were both raised in isolation and could probably relate to each other really well in that aspect. but, i also don’t trust the 100 to not make it a romantic relationship, which i think octavia absolutely doesn’t need at this point. on the other hand, i’m excited at the possibility of octavia potentially healing herself and her relationships, i hope they finally do that after so long.

initial s6 trailer thoughts

the trailer is out! i’ve just watched it once so far, so i’m going to put my thoughts under the cut and then go watch it again. (this ended up a bit on the long side, so i summed it up at the end!)

first things first, i will be giffing octavia from it soon! as usual, everything will be tagged with “the 100 spoilers” and my text posts and asks about any of s6 or the trailer will be tagged with “s6 talk”

so, not much octavia from the trailer, but i’m not surprised. s5 was really octavia heavy, so i think they wont be spending as much time on her this season. regardless of how much screen time she gets, i HOPE we’re finally getting a change in octavia because it’s been so long that i think there’s a good chance we’ll see her start changing for the better finally. she’s been built up to this antagonist since lincoln died, and while it’s been sooo interesting to watch her change as a character, it’s time we deserve some more positive growth and changes from her, so fingers crossed!

i say that because her parts in the beginning of the trailer look very standard in the sense that it’s octavia vs everyone else, like she’s still against everyone, which has just been done so much. a lot of the beginning scenes also look like they’re all still shot on the ship, she’s the only person that i cant recall seeing outside on the bright new planet (other than that snapshot of her fighting in the woods), so maybe most of her scenes from the trailer are from the beginning of the season. i’m being optimistic, but hey, i’m just trying to will some good stuff for octavia into existence. i’m also a bit hopeful because at the end of the trailer we see octavia fighting blodreina, which looks promising to me because it could mean some form of change or healing, or at the very least her not being blodreina anymore.

on the other hand, it looks like they’re still doing (or at least starting the season with) the octavia vs bellamy and the “my sister died a long time ago” kind of story, which no doubt goes hand in hand with the octavia/bellamy/echo conflict they’ve mentioned so far. again, i’m hoping they’re just making it look like that from the trailer perspective so they don’t give everything away, i want to have some hope that they aren’t just doing the same thing again and again and again. but i’m also not too hopeful for that because it does look like they are repeating a lot of story lines from their earth days, some of those are - conflict with the native people, some form of hallucinations, grounder looking "savages”, clarke being the leader and kind of go between with the people there and her people, octavia seemingly at odds with everyone yet again. a lot of it looks very repeated and i know they’re trying to parallel, but it almost looks too similar so i hope that’s not the case, we’ve already watched 5 seasons of this show, and i would very much enjoy some new storylines.

tl;dr - overall, i’m not as excited as i was when the s5 trailer was released, but i’m not putting too much weight into that because i ended up not liking most of s5. the biggest take away i got from the trailer is that i think there’s potential for octavia to finally get some sort of redemption or healing, but i wouldn’t put it past the 100 to just keep doing what they’ve already done before.

I don’t know if I can recommend their All-Over Print products yet (I want to buy some after losing some weight or getting a good binder, w/e comes first) but I feel like they might need undershirts to wear comfortably.

But being 100% polyester, they might be pretty hot enough w/o one, so please be careful with what you chose to order, dear! I know you can get a heat stroke p easy where you live.
