Layla's parents have always been rigid when it came to tradition and etiquette but they've taken it to ridiculous proportions here. And Layla's line that they never hug her is just insulting to the original characters (and frankly would fit Sky a lot better). Everyone who remembers Niobe very enthusiastically hugging Layla as soon as she saw her teleport back home, raise your hand!
God, the outfit change was fucking embarrassing. Actually, everything about this change into Dark Bloom is embarrassing, except for her being able to summon a dark dragon out of flames. I think it's cool that this is the first time she's managed to manifest a dragon.
Dark Bloom in season 2 did the most damage in her first appearance and here she was simply a bully and turning her dark achieved fuck all. In fact, the only thing Vexius got out of this is that he sucks so bad as a leader that the Trix and Damien might start building rapport between them.
Okay, powerless Trix is new and I'm here for it. I can't believe that they're actually facing consequences (and we got an explanation as to why that didn't happen earlier).
I have to say that both Faragonda and Griffin did the "sealing the students' powers away" so suddenly that it was downright scary. Like, you'll be finding out if you've fucked around, zero warning. Okay then.
I am freaked out. This part about Griffin covering for the Trix is way too similar to my rewrite ideas. My thought was that she was worried what the Council might do if they realize the Trix are connected to the Ancestral Witches... so I guess I should just wait and see what it is that Rainbow came up with.

Filler it may be in plot, but so fucking integral to Dean's back story and Dean's inner psyche and Dean's fucked up relationship with John and Dean's ultimate sacrifices and love for Sammy.
