I have that same hc about sa 55 tbh. Like its just makes much more sense imo that he both upgraded him and repainted his colors.

And then by the next game he was like, tine to give him a brother. Since then the twins have been around ever since. Though they definitely thrived in Boom, given its focus on humor.
