Happy Mother's Day Weekend everyone!

This Mother's Day will certainly be different of course, but it can't take away from the best gift a mother can receive, your love! We hope your day is filled with all the love you deserve.

Since we've received questions from many of you about our local Real Estate market, rest assured properties in Tucson are still desirable. From last April to this April 2020, the average sale price has increased almost 14% and the average Days on Market has dropped from 55 days to 39 days. There are            fewer homes for sale across many price ranges, making it even more important to enlist the help of a Real Estate professional if you are looking to purchase a home, or list your home for sale.

Here’s What’s Happening in Tucson This Weekend!

And the big sports question this weekend is of course, who will knock off last year’s gold medal winner of Horseshoes in the 80+ category!  If you’re an octogenarian, you still have time to give it a shot at the 2019 Senior Olympic Festival.  In addition to horseshoes, there are plenty other sports continuing through the first week of February!  Badminton, Bunco or Bridge anyone?  No Olympic medals on tap for this next event, but if dancing is your passion, grab your partner and head to the Tucson Square Dance Festival taking place at three different halls this entire weekend.  

And then there were four! Pretty soon you’ll have your weekends back as the final two NFL Playoff games are this Sunday when the one team that is not the Arizona Cardinals, plays the other team that is not the Arizona Cardinals at 1pm.  Later on at 4:40pm another team, not the Cardinals, plays the last team, again not the Cardinals.  Enjoy?  Maybe next year we’ll all be rooting for the Tucson Raiders!

Guess what folks, it’s the 25th anniversary of the first party to celebrate the capture of the notorious John Dillinger 85 years ago at Hotel Congress.  Reason enough to celebrate?  Of course, it is, this is Tucson!  Get your Dillinger Days tickets here.  Liked the movie, The Big Year, and want to give it a try?  Cochise has you covered.  While there were only 3 sightings yesterday of the Northern Shoveler, there have been 7000 sightings of the Sandhill Crane!  If interested in getting acquainted with this amazing nature opportunity, check out Wings over Wilcox for tours visiting the best birding spots!

There are 20 more events, recitals, performances, or master classes still left to experience as part of the 2019 Tucson Desert Song Festival.  Orchestral, choral, jazz, opera, ballet and others, performed by world renowned artists right here in Tucson.  But wait, there’s more.  Simultaneously, you can catch Trombone Shorty, Pink Martini, Bobby McFerrin and others, as part of the Tucson Jazz Festival over the next few days.  Take that Phoenix!!!

Tomorrow and Sunday head to La Encantada for the SAACA Fine Arts Festival. The event is free but bring your checkbook because you know you’ll find something you’ll want!  If you’re out on the East side this weekend, stop by our open house Saturday or Sunday at 7612 E Callisto Circle and say hi. Otherwise, have a great weekend everyone, and try not to call your friends and families back east on Sunday when it’s going to be 70 degrees and sunny here.

Here’s What’s Happening in Tucson This Weekend!

They’re Back!  The students that is!  And they will be out in full force at Bear Down Friday’s at Main Gate Square starting today at 3pm with activities for all ages.  A pep rally with the UofA Cheer squad, Wilber and Wilma, Coach Miller, and all the drink specials you can want.  This is of course, a precursor to the UofA football game tomorrow night against Brigham Young, and the debut of our new football coach Kevin Sumlin.  Go CATS!

HOCO Fest, the Hotel Congress Festival of fun, music, food, and whatever, continues for several more days and nights. See the schedule and buy tickets while you still can.  And don’t forget to check out Ice Cube tomorrow night at the AVA.  How long can he perform in our desert heat before melting!

No, you’re not seeing things.  That really was a beer bus that drove by, taking thirsty people to downtown drinking spots and then returning them safely to their home later.  The launch of The Brew Van is the most exciting thing to hit Tucson since Uber according to some!

Ladies, tomorrow is the Run Free Fun Run at La Encantada so be there at 6 AM for registration.  It is NOT free, nor will it necessarily fun.  But the cost will go to charity and you’ll finish by 9 AM and be treated to refreshments.  Of course we all know everyone will be in line at AJ’s bakery counter for bagels and cream cheese by 9:15 anyway.

It won’t be long now till the temperatures are in the cool enough for walking/hiking/biking range again. So let’s get ourselves and our puppies ready, shall we?  Register for the upcoming class from REI for Hiking with Dogs in the Desert.  Your pets will thank you.  Also in the hiking vein, tomorrow night’s Cool Summer Nights at the Arizona Desert Museum might actually feature a ‘cool summer night’ for a change.  And it’s the museum’s birthday celebration to boot!  

Sunday you can head back to La Encantada for the Salsa, Tequila & Taco Challenge.  This is the signature fundraiser of SAACA of course and no the challenge is not to see how many tacos and tequilas you can consume; but rather to see which chef has the most creative offerings!  Either way though, you still win.

If you are in the Sabino Canyon area this weekend, stop by our Open House at 5264 N Coronado Place today, tomorrow or Sunday, and say hi.  Whatever your plans this weekend, enjoy the last remaining hot swimming weather of the season.  And, as always, please let us know if we can be of help to you or someone you know.
