“You were a what?” Saalia yelled just as Han’s eyes lit up in shock. “Sanitation?” the smuggler questioned, “Then how do you know how to disable the shields?” “I don’t. I’m just here to get Rey,” Finn exasperated.
Saalia’s expression softened ever so slightly. A more understanding anger quickly returned when Han started talking again.
“People are counting on us! The galaxy is counting on us!” “Solo, we’ll figure it out,” Finn tried to ease, “We’ll use the Force!” “That’s not how the Force works,” Han retorted.
Chewie spoke up with his usual moans. Arching a brow, Han turned toward the Wookie.
“Oh, really? You’re cold?” “Come on,” Finn urged.
The former stormtrooper hurried ahead of the other three. The politician arched her neck a bit.
“If we live, I’m going to kill him,” she noted. Han smirked. “Get in line.”
The group of four hurried into the base. Han and Chewie led as the other two took up the rear. Jaw clenched, Saalia gripped her whip’s hilt. She rolled her eyes when a stormtrooper called out before Chewie shot him. Her violet eyes continued to scan the area as she moved to the front of the group.
“The longer we’re here, less luck we’re going to have,” Han stated, “The shields?” “I have an idea about that,” Finn affirmed.
Saalia listened to Finn, keeping ahead of the group. She had them pause, noting a few more ‘troopers. She clicked her whip. The purple thong crackled with electricity. In a fluid motion, she slid into the open, wrapping her whip around one of them. With a firm grip, she flung the one into the other two. In quick succession, she whipped the helmets off and gave each one a shock. She turned back to the three and nodded.
They continued on, waiting for the attack. Eventually, they made it to where a ‘trooper with chrome armor was walking by. Finn nodded at the person, allowing Chewie to deck them into another passage way. Finn popped up in front of his former boss. He arched a brow.
“Remember me?” “FN-2187,” she stated. “Not anymore,” he gloated, “It’s Finn, and I’m in charge. I’m in charge now Phasma. I’m in-” Han tapped him while Saalia smirked. “Bring it down; bring it down.” He nodded while looking at the others. “Follow me.”
Hastily, they went to the nearest workstation. Saalia stood outside while Finn forced Phasma to pull down the shields. Only a couple stormtroopers passed by, requiring her skills with the whip. The woman bit her lower lip in thought. She placed a finger to her ear.
“Jess?” she whispered. “I’m here, Senator,” she responded. “Saalia will do,” she added with a chuckle, “The shields are almost down…remember our agreement?” She could hear the smirk. “Loud and clear, ma’am. I’ll update you as much as I can.” “Thank you.” Before the comm disconnected, Saalia heard the incoming transmission, “Black Leader, go to sub-lights. On your call.” Her chest clenched at the familiar voice. “Roger, base–red squad, blue squad, take my lead.”
Before she could hear anymore, the group was pulling Phasma out of the workstation. Saalia quickly followed them to a garbage chute. She arched a humored brow when they threw the captain in. She glanced up at Han.
“Accomplished, I see.” “Oh yeah,” he replied with a smirk. He sobered his expression. “We got work to do. And fast.” Saalia smirked. She had heard Poe’s advice and decided to repeat it, “But as long as there’s light, we got a chance.”
The pair nodded solemnly. Looking at Finn, she knew his thoughts were with Rey. She placed a hand on his shoulder and squeezed. He smirked in thanks. Chewie moaned; both Han and Saalia’s eyes widened. Finn knit his brows.
“Footsteps,” Han explained. Saalia pushed them forward. “Go! I’m right behind you.”
