Labour Day Weekend was an experimental electronic music event organised by the switched on collective of SABBATICAL records and hosted by the hard working KIPL crew. KIPL was a massive warehouse situated in West Melbourne and was responsible for a string of excellent shows. We salute you.
One of the killer performances from the weekend came from Justin Fuller. JK’s style of heavy Detroit influenced techno blew the socks off everybody in the room. It was a relatively new path Justin was going down at the time after years of guitar driven improvised noise music. It felt fresh and unhinged but at the same time no bullshit and straight to the point.
