Vantage Point||Self Para||23/04/14
Zander was perched on top of the building, looking out on what was once the City of Angels. It was disappointing to see it this way. Dead bodies could be seen littering the streets and buildings were dirty and abandoned. Their haven was located on top of a large hill. Not the Hollywood Hills but it felt like it was close to. From Zan's vantage point he could see a large portion of the city. He could see fights starting in the nearest streets and cars being pushed over. It was insanity. And, seeing the chaos, and knowing that what he could see was barely even the beginning of it. the City was huge and he knew there would be tons of fights and mini wars going on. If any of the fuckers from his past were still alive he knew they would probably be the ones to start anything.
It was times like this, when he was sitting looking t his home, when he really, truly felt himself slip. He felt like he was going back to the way he was before...the ruthless criminal. The maniac. The one who had no issue shooting people. Even though, now, the bodies he was killing...he knew they weren't people anymore. But they had been. They used to be friends, family, acquaintances. But now...now they were just mindless killing machines.
Zander viewed this as a type of war. Humans versus Zombies. Living vs. Dead. And as he looked out at the world below him his idea seemed to be true. A sudden thought ran through his head. It was the 23rd. His 42nd was in two days. "Happy early Birthday...." He muttered to himself. He wasn't totally sure he'd even make it that much longer. And in some ways he hoped he didn't.
He chuckled at the whole thing. It was all so ridiculous. This shit was only supposed to happen in storybooks or TV shows. Not in reality. To Zander, this was all starting to feel like a dream. this wasn't reality. A dream he would soon wake up from. Of course, he knew it wasn't truly a dream, a figment of his own imagination. He knew that if it was he wouldn't have dreamed it this way. But telling himself that it wasn't real made it easier to deal with it. It made it easier to cope with the fact that there were three people left in the city that he actually cared about. That he wanted to stay alive for. These people were the ones whose death would drive him further over the brink of madness than he'd already gotten.
