please i'm crying he literally only heard bibi say the word 'kiss' and went "YES ABSOLUTELY LET'S DO IT RN". when you're so in love you literally cannot imagine any other reason your wife would be talking about kissing except for the fact that you really really really wanna kiss her even when it had nothing to do with the topic they were talking about 😭😭

i am obsessed with this. sable knows that he likes abigail, may even be aware that his feelings for her are different than they would be for a friend, but he's convinced himself that it can't be romantic love. it just cannot. because the love he's seen is cheap and greedy and disloyal and completely different from what he feels for bibi so,,, it can't be romantic love.

i've mentioned before how important abigail has become for sable purely from a platonic standpoint and you can even see it in this conversation when veritus asks him whether he likes (which i am curious about the wording there but i'll have to check the og text first) and sable immediately say that yes, yes of course he likes her, bibi is family, how can he not?

so it's clear he knows bibi is important to him at a very high level, but the question is whether he only feels so strongly for her because she's part of his family... or if his feelings are turning to a different direction.

and sable thinks they can't be. they can't be romantic too because what he feels isn't like everything he's seen before. they're stronger and deeper and steadfast than what he's known his entire life.

just!! the thought of him growing up seeing the romantic love that the people around him show to each other, believing that's all love has to offer and then coming to love bibi romantically and being disappointed in himself for feeling like that because obviously bibi deserves better. she deserves to be trusted and respected and cherished. so he can't feel like that because he wants to give her something better.

and the highest regard he can offer her is to be his chosen family because that's the best relationship he's had up until right then. because that's what bibi became for him.

i'm sorry can we talk about sable's reaction to seeing his very beautiful wife being kissed by an absolutely gorgeous mermaid. he did not give one single crap except for the fact that That's His Wife how dare she steal bibi's first kiss this is Outrageous (σ｀д′)σ

and like?? i just really love?? how very non fanservice-ish the moment was played as??? like it could've so easily turned into a 'oohh girl-on-girl action' or 'haha nadia is in love with abigail but they're both girls lol' but no!! the comedy of it comes from the misunderstanding of who nadia is in love with, at no point is it presented as something sexual or perverted, sable is bothered not because they're both of the same gender but because that's his wife and he wanted to be the one to kiss her and it's just!! it's such a low bar and yet!! so many other manhwas wouldn't have handled this as perfectly as this one did. i really love this manhwa you guys 〒▽〒
