The motto, of course, is nonsensical: How do you invent a task? But that’s the whole point: The truth of the matter is that invention is as unknown as art itself. We don’t know how to invent, and that’s why invention is possible. We just have to lanzarse: to throw ourselves into it. We have to develop an instinct. How do we sense an idea that is not exactly an idea, because it’s not really coming from the mind but from the gut? We have to know enough to believe in it, to do something foolish, to do something outrageous. We have to test it."
