I met a cute doggie on my way to @drcartwright and his lovely Golden Globe shindig. He was so friendly, I could have died. Don’t tell Sarge. He’ll be jealous.

It’s a bit creepy how similar we look when you have facial hair. I’m glad you made the trip, Jamface. Do you need help getting your console to the hospital? Have you found someone to take care of the dog for you? If not, Aless and I would happily take him during your surgery and recovery. We already have Aubrie’s dog with us all the time. Abbott, Costello, and Amira would love the company.

Mom said the same thing when she saw me. But she wasnt happy I didnt shave. All of my gaming equipment was packed before the trip. I had an uber drive me to the hospital. And the guy helped lift it in and out of the car. Malu is going to housesit and take care of Goliath. Are you and Aless having people over for dinner on tomorrow?

This is a very Far From the Madding Crowd aesthetic. My property has a lot of lovely spots, but I do still enjoy going out into the wilderness for fishing and hiking. JamFace is the climber though. How did your head clearing go?

Is that something very naturey? You know, I’ve never gone out on your property and explored. Dinners, sure, but I always stay near the house. You know, James is the first one to take me climbing somewhere that wasn’t rock walls in gyms. My head clearing was fabulous! Mainly because there wasn’t a lot of clearing that I needed to do. I don’t have so much stress at the moment with me being on a little break before the next semester. How have you been?

Sixth Opinion || 8/1 - 8/10

James managed to sleep the entire plane ride to Australia. Even if he had wanted to help Micah and Alessandra with their kids his body seemingly shutdown as soon as it realized he was taking time to relax. His cough had gradually worsened and he worried that he caught a bug on his trip to England to pick up Goliath. James had taken precautions on both trips to not catch a cold. He wore masks on the planes, avoided heavily populated areas and cleaned his hands often. But James knew it was possible that worrying about getting sick while traveling could have caused inflammation. Jameson refused to accept that the reason he was sick was because his cancer was spreading.

It was hard for James to keep up with his brothers. He managed to surfer for a short time before he needed to go to bed. Every private conversation with family became a conversation about his cancer. Each person wanted to see his medical records and listen to his options. His mother had been the most aggressive. She had scheduled consultations with specialists without his consent. Rather than putting his foot down James followed along for what would be the sixth opinion. It was not only because he loved his mother and respected her concern. But James had put off treatment hoping for something fast, easy and noninvasive. This doctor did not put either of them at ease.

The verdict was the same. James had cancer in his tonsils and that there was enough irritation to his adenoids to cause concern that the cancer was no longer only in his tonsils. Instead of solely having a tonsillectomy this doctor advised a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy. The procedure was called a T&A and would keep him in the hospital for a few weeks if Jameson chose to follow the procedure with radiotherapy to the cancerous areas of his throat. It was more serious than other doctors had suggested. But the specialist seemed optimistic that it would be effective and allow the fastest recovery. While James was convinced he still went back to Micah’s house to discuss the issue together with the family and they all decided to proceed together as soon as James was back in Los Angeles.

For Jameson the rest of the vacation was a quick and slow at the same time. He wanted to enjoy every last moment with his family. If anyone was doing something active he tried to participate. Even though he had a hard time keeping up James didnt want to waste what could be his last holiday. He took pictures with everyone and of every activity and location they went to in Byron Bay. When someone tried to ask him to slow down he made a joke about his cancer until he realized how mortified everyone was. James knew that the T&A should be an easy surgery. But he also knew that immediately following the surgery with radiotherapy would be risky. More than that James knew that if he was lucky he might make it ten years in remission. James also knew that his athletic lifestyle could be over for the rest of his life.

That’s very sweet of you, Naya. You know I couldn’t let anything happen to you. How have you been? Also, don’t think I didn’t notice that Jameson is higher on this list than me. Do we need to have a talk?

I’ve been good. Busy but good. That list was not structured. Just because his name before yours does not mean anything.
