It depends, what kind of accent you got? If people like it, maybe just go with the compliment. It’s better they say that than anything negative, right?

It does make me less fidgety when I can feel that it’s meant with a compliment. I’ve got a New Orleans accents, bit of the south and a bit of french sort of seared together. But something about darlin’ just comes off condescending to me, I don’t know.
