Clothing recycling is one of those things that I can’t find a service for. The options available for like single users require that the stuff is in great condition so it can be re-sold in third world countries or something like that. Which is like… whaaaaaat? Or is it that I am the only one that wears their clothing until it’s useful life is over?
It turns out that big thrift store services such as Salvation Army do have clothing recycling services. So I donate there and hope that my jeans will become cement.
On the other hand, I also buy most of my clothes there. It serves a good purpose since most or all of my purchase helps local organizations, and it has the environmental advantage of avoiding ditching clothes/wasting resources in making more.
I can say with pride: I’m thrifted for the environment.
