For the ship headcanon questions:
🧩 for morzatorix and 🌹 for Orrin/Murtagh.
And because you mentioned non-romantic; how about😳(most embarrassing thing) for Brom and Morzan growing up together?
Hii! Um, sorry, I was rambling a bit xD
🧩 What tiny habit of the other do they find unbearably adorable? for Morzatorix
Galbatorix is an attentive man, he’s labelling everything accordingly. Not that he’d forget where he’d put something, but secretaries and aides exists. It became a habit so now he’s labelling everything, because he tends to think that other people are idiots. He’d label a see-through cookie jar, too. Morzan sees this as his attention to every detail, and also, Galbatorix looks very cute when he’s making those labels. Or he just likes it when Torix is complaining about the secretaries while doing so.
Morzan is a chaos gremlin, but he’s still having the tidiest wardrobe ever. Tiny sign that Morzan is seeing the hard work behind keeping something clean and in order, and also seeing Galbatorix’ need to keep order around him (there is enough of a mess in his head ._.”). I don’t think that they ever talked about this, it’s just silent approval there. And Torix grumbling about Morzan snatching his bedroom dagger once again, and as he’s looking for the newest magpie-nest, he finds the socks ordered according to colour and shade, and stops for a moment to think about “yeah, I love this man. Where is my damn dagger, though.”
🌹 Who fell harder & who fell first? for Orrin/Murtagh.
It was definitely Orrin, who realised the signs first. Murtagh was doing the classic “what, Thorn, you’re wrong, I’m just having a cold AGAIN, I’m not in love, pfff what do you even think”, and then when he got it, he was rolling around and being dramatically miserable until he got a hug. I believe Orrin was a lot more graceful about all of this. Even with the (sometimes awkward) flirting attempts. (Wait, is this just Wrong God badly summed up?)
How about😳(most embarrassing thing) for Brom and Morzan growing up together?
I wrote the answer for your modified question and not the proposed one, hehe. I had a story in mind about this, but knowing my writing speed, you might forget about all of this by the time I manage to cough that up. If ever ._.”
I have this headcanon that Brom was a late bloomer with magic, thus he had the chance to try out the whole set of “let’s enrage this child to unlock his magic”-training. I totally bought your propaganda about Saphira I being a super chill dragon, so she was probably holding together the more and more frustrated Brom. And since it was the old Order, that looooved being secretive, neither Brom, nor Saphira knew why Brom had to do those shitty exercises. So Brom was around 13-14 at the time, puberty was creeping in, and he was in that weird moment when he was starting to be very conscious about his body.
Morzan picked up on Brom’s awkwardness, and he had been bullied for his heterochromia just enough to learn respecting body autonomy. Also being rude without body-shaming hurts more uwu. I had this other story, where I mentioned that they shared a room during their apprentice years, and that the Order was handing out sleeping clothes in the same size – which was actually another magic-training for students in disguise (remember Arya talking about fitting clothes in book 3? Like that).
So there was this very frustrated Brom, trying to deal with that shitty oversized nightgown, with Morzan munching on something, laughing at him and giving him not very good advices on how to shorten the cloth with a belt. Then boom, Brom unlocked his magic with shredding that nightgown into scraps and threads. Morzan choked immediately, and he’d almost died there, because it took way too long for Brom to get over being naked and just get to Morzan and help him out. They never mentioned this again. Oromis only got the short version that Brom is now fitting to do magic, yay.
