A Beautifully Expressive Hand Ballet Performed by 128 Performers in Wheelchairs

As part of the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games closing handoff ceremony, French choregrapher Sadeck Waff created an absolutely gorgeous and beautifully expressive hand ballet performed by both professional and amateur performers in wheelchairs. The performance opened with Oxandre Pecku, the first person in France to receive a “bionic” arm from Open Bionics, and then turned to the stage of the wheelchair performers who gracefully moved their arms in time with each other and with the music, which was composed by Woodkid and performed by Orchestre National de France.

Tokyo Paralympics

As part of a closing hand-off ceremony for the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games and the 2024 games in Paris, choreographer Sadeck Waff worked with 128 performers in a dizzying performance focused on arms and hands. 法國舞蹈家 Sadeck Waff 帶來了視覺的享受。以一種名為「幾何變化」（Géométrie Variable）的舞蹈聞名。一開始 Sadeck Waff 只有跟一、兩位舞者合作。2020年12月時他與64位舞者合作，一起完成規模較大的幾何變化舞蹈「MURMURATION」。

熱愛大自然的Sadeck Waff，在這次的舞蹈中加入了「仿生」的藝術。自然之中這樣極度規律的變化四處可見。不論天空、海洋還是陸地，每一個個體在這樣的律動中，都有不可被取代的地位。

對於發展這種舞蹈風格的靈感，除了來自大自然的啟發以外。也出自於「機械舞」與「嘻哈舞」這類的街舞風格。一群人一起跳舞之下，結合這樣規律的線條與形狀變化，使彼此之間產生連結。讓人出現一種「我的手臂就是你的手臂」、「我們一起完成各種形狀」的感覺。這樣極度整齊的美麗畫面，讓網友們紛紛讚嘆太過神奇。療癒的肢體變化，看上好幾次都不會感到煩膩呢。
