Leon's definitely someone who needs to be talked through whatever someone's doing and why, after everything he's been through. That said, I have a feeling he might be slightly more okay with having his pulse taken than someone actually using a stethoscope…but in much the same way that one might prefer waiting in line at the bank to visiting the dentist.
Our boy has trauma. Plenty of that is medical trauma specifically, I’m sure. Whatever they’d have put him through after Raccoon City to be sure he isn’t infected (and they were wrong about), then everything surrounding the plaga…I don’t think he’ll have had many doctors who cared enough to talk him through everything, but he deserves someone to be gentle. I agree he’s probably more okay with someone checking his pulse. Feels less invasive than someone listening to his heartbeat and less reminiscent of his chest getting examined for what’s left of the plaga, which they no doubt did.
I like to imagine Claire stething him before he accumulates all that trauma. She’d be gentle, and just trying her best to check he’s okay even if she’s got nothing more than first aid training.
And then through everything else leading up to what I wrote with Victor, which…was meant to traumatise him. 100% that was Victor wanting him to feel perturbed and violated even if it’s got the veneer of “for science”.
So then I wrote him inviting Grace to steth him afterwards, which was a big deal for him. A lot of trust, even if he stayed the one in control.
Yeah. I have a lot of thoughts about this.
