Hey everyone - it’s Free RPG Day! Which is an excellent time to remind you all that I have a 2-player tabletop rpg called Signal to Noise available for pay-what-you-want on itchio! I wrote it for #sadmechjam If you like games about mechs, radio static and being sad, this might be the game for you.
A GM-less game about emotions, isolation, and a big robot .
Is It Enough? is a GM-less tabletop roleplay game for 2-5 players about a mech pilot who has crashed after battle and needs to repair their mech while grappling with their newfound isolation. It was made for the Emotional Mecha Jam, which you can [ check out here! ]
a mobile suit, its newest pilot, and the ghost that haunts them
The system is ablaze with flames of war; battle lines are drawn and none can escape. The only way to survive is to join the private militarized companies strong enough to possess its own mech.
You belong to one such group. One of you is the mech, the ultimate weapon in your troop’s arsenal, while the other is its newest pilot, replacing their dead love on the battlefield. For 3 players, one of you is the black sheep responsible for the previous pilot’s demise.
In the end, who is the dead pilot, really?
a GM-less game for 2-3 players written in 48 hours for #sadmechjam
SadMechJam Game Bundle, available 'til the 14th of March
Oh hey, so I never posted this here, but I made a couple of TTRPGs recently. One (Memento Mori) is for the Emotional Mecha Jam that’s going on until Feb 10, and the other is what I’ve affectionately termed my “eldritch terror dating sim.” They’re nothing fancy, but it’d mean a lot to me if you checked them both out.
Your pilot is dead, but you're still here.
M-PTH-Y is a single-player RPG about a war mech becoming an independent being after suffering a loss.
You are War Unit 7683.
What is a War Unit?
It’s a mech. A humanoid machine of war, designed to be operated by a single pilot.
When you were created you were installed with a state-of-the-art M-PTH chip, an M-PTH-Y. At the time, it was considered far more advanced than the M-PTH-X chips, although now it’s considered obsolete compared to the M-PTH-Z chips.
What does an M-PTH chip do?
It allows you to feel the emotions of your pilot. Everything she feels, you feel. This allows you to operate at peak efficiency, even in moments of high stress, such as during battle.
Your pilot has died.
In theory, when a pilot dies, their War Unit should also cease to function.
But you are still functioning.
And your M-PTH chip is still functioning.
But it’s not functioning correctly.
I jointed the Emotional Mecha Game Jam sort of last second, but when I saw it was going on, I knew I wanted to be part of it because sad robots are my brand. I kind of like the idea I came up with for it, and I hope other people enjoy it as well.
it’s the final days of the #sadmechjam tabletop rpg jam over on itch.io, and I’ve finished my submission - Signal to Noise, a game for two players about communicating through radio static, and finding someone before it’s too late.
It's dark and you're hurting – maybe bleeding, it's hard to tell – and the titanium weight of your mech is bearing down on you like it wants to be your coffin. Life support systems struggle to stay online, stuttering and choking as the fuel seeps slowly from a broken machine. In the dark, the bright, solitary light of your comms unit blinks steadily – the one lifeline still left to you. Elsewhere, the insistent chirp of a distress signal flickers on a HUD, and you are the only one who can hear it. You are worried and growing desperate, and all you have to go on is a voice, faint and crackling and sometimes lost in noise, to guide you to the life you need to save. The clock is ticking.
It’s pay-what-you-what - so have a peek if it sounds like your thing, and let me know what you think!
