- So I liked this story too! But once again I felt the reading hangover approaching so I tired to get through it as fast as I could so that wouldn't happen. I do have to say that this book definitely wasn't as action packed as the first. That's not to say that it wasn't fun to read. It was very fun to read. I liked that the Soulless played a big role in this story. I kind of felt like the author was trying to maybe hint at a romantic feeling between Sirscha and a couple of characters. But that might just be me projecting my love for romance is books lol. We did see a lot less of Saengo in this book too. But we got more of Theyen so I guess it was a fair trade. I was kind of confused about why the author was trying to give the Soulless like a redemption story. Like she keeps telling us stuff about his past that are like making Sirscha feel bad. Which I’m not on board with. I am very interested to see what happens in the third book when it comes out. Especially since Sirscha destroyed the soul of the Soullesses brother. And he's gonna be PISSED about it.
