SAGAU, but the reader isn't the Creator or tied to the world of Teyvat. They are known as "The Player". Characters are aware of The Player and while they do get a bit annoyed/miffed when you accidentally (or sometimes on purpose) knock them out, they overall still like you. They're puppets that you play with to put on a show. And the Vision holders appreciate you for it.
Then one day, The Player doesn't return to Genshin. The Player's mains are worried and scared that something bad happened to their favorite controller. They escape the game onto the Player's PC/Console, finding that The Player is OK, but burnt out from Genshin. The Player promises them that they shall return, someday, but in the meantime, your mains join you in your other games.
OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I like this idea! Super unique compared to what I remember!
Yes, I'm alive hi—life has been hectic, and I've been slowly catching up on the Luna Patch on Genshin lore :) There's a request for Columbina sitting in my inbox that I haven't touched yet until I know her better!
Anyway back to this idea—very interesting! I'd also like to imagine that reader's mains, when they enter other games, jumpscare the hell out of players when Reader is playing in like idk co-op mode or in a guild LOL
Other ppl are like "WHO ARE THESE ANIME GUYS? WTH???"
Someone in the bg rapidly sending bug requests to devs and devs have no idea what's going on either like "????"
Synopsis: The revered Overseer was brought into this world to grace the lands and air with their presence. But unknown to the people of Teyvat, their beloved Oversees is also... a horse girl trainer...?
WARNINGS: none,
Author's Notes: How it feels to come back after years of inactivity. Also, I got into Uma Musume :). P.S. Only 564 is featured rn
Lounging about in your own home—one hand on your phone playing a game about training horses, your desktop lit with genshin while in the middle of a quest—the epitome of multitasking in gaming, yet, still a gambling addict. In the middle of a run with a certain dropkicking horse girl, genshin seems to start running... oddly. What was a story of a moon goddess meant to return to the moon beyond the false sky now turned towards you, the fourth wall, the one who sees over their story.
The text below now spoke of:
"The one who sees us — who sees our world as a game — come and witness our world beyond this glass".
The screen showed scattered colours of a glitch before it went blank, the sudden scene making you shoot up from your seat and step back with your body tense while your phone fell from your hand.
As you bend down to pick up your fallen phone — it's screen facing down—you see not just a cracked screen, but all the girls you had obtained, with the girl you were training in the idle room staring back at you; the text box now showing:
"You're not leaving us, trainer, right? We haven't won our goal yet".
The world suddenly flashed into an array of blinding hues before you felt your body grow limp until it felt numb. As your sensations start to return, starting from your ears, you hear the sound of the winds whispering soft murmurs over your form, then your skin regaining its sense of touch as it felt the soft grazes of grass tickling from behind — had there been grass in your room? — then your nose picking up the scent of what you believe is the smell of outdoors.
Lastly, your eyelids unfold to allow your irises witness the scene of pale blue skies with the sun unveiling the colours of the world around you. A setting unfamiliar to where you live.
"What... Where..." Your voice a harsh croak as you felt your throat parched like El Niño, yet you still had enough strength to still push yourself up to sit up from the greenery around you.
Your eyes gaze upon the new world around you — so familiar yet not so — before your legs push you up from the ground bellow you. Your legs carrying across this land before stopping at a nearby stream behind a large tree that could have touched the skies — again, intimately close yet no so — so you kneel down to cup a hand of water from the stream to quench your thirst.
A shadow grows from behind her before stopping to a halt, a presence looming from behind her, yet when you turned to see who, it was someone you never thought to see breathing before you.
A tall feminine and athletic form; hair, white like a void incomprehensible; a headpiece that covers the sides of her head like earphones, yet a pair of horse ears sit atop her head. She looks down at you with that oh so familiar grin of mischief that usually spouted words with meaning a mortal mind couldn't fathom.
"Heyyoo, Trainer. Das you, right?"
You look up to her, speechless, words null inside your head as you can only blink a few times to show even a sliver of the shock words could now describe.
"... Gold Ship?!"
The name left your mouth like breath — your throat now less dry from the stream water — yet also some form of hope as it seemed Gold Ship know who you are.
"Y-you know me? Like, actually?
"Yeah, the shrimp possessing Trainer, right? So, you're Trainer."
Gold Ship's words hit you like a truck. She knew. The person behind her trainer was you, a person that isn't actually the trainer that had been her physically.
"Wait— so... you know—"
"That you're a real person? yup. My trainer radar never fails, trainer. You underestimate Master Golshi."
More questions started to form in you head to ask, but another voice came into your mind, literally.
"Oh my. Did something happen at the borders? why is there another Otherworlder her?"
You who sometimes get dreams that will happen in real life
A cool little perk
These events can happen soon or even years later
But then, you get an unexpected dream..
You were in Teyvat, getting chased and hunted by the beloved characters of the game Genshin Impact
Surely it can’t be real, right?
It’s not another one of those “prophetic dreams”. It’s just a normal dream
But inside, you knew it was going to happen
“It’s just a silly dream” You kept telling yourself
Unconsciously trying to find possible hideouts or safe spots in the world of Teyvat as you play
“I’m just exploring for chests. That’s it.” Lies. You’ve already gotten everything in every region that’s currently available
You’ve played for hours, trying to find a place you can possibly hide in
Upon finding out about the sagau that’s been floating around in the fandom, you’ve decided to read about them
Maybe these many different fics can help you survive
You’ve even started learning whatever you could get your hands on. Training both your body and mind for what’s to come
But..Even if you train now, you know you can’t do anything against them. They who have trained for longer and are far more superior in many different areas
SAGAU but Creator Reader has been tagging along with the Gourmet Supremos.
If you didn't know or have forgotten, Gourmet Supremos are one of those quest series that is randomized because some part of the questline can only be accessed with dailies (like Whispers in the Wind or Snezhnaya Does Not Believe in Tears or Garcia's Paean).
This questline spans from Inazuma up to Sumeru. I think there were 6-7 quests in total? I forgot. (it's 8).
(These are Julie, Parvaneh and Xudong in order.) There are more characters that made a cameo in here but we'll just limit it with these three.
Context dropped, onto the short HCs.
• Okay so, I didn't really read the whole story of this one so I'm just going to make some random HCs on the fly. I'm aiming for a goody-feel with this one so no heavy angst will be involved.
• Alright, so. Xudong is the leader of the Gourmet Supremos, and he only found you because when you land in Inazuma, you literally dropped into their camp and was about to steal a sausage from Julie's backpack (but there were so many ingredients there!!!)
• Xudong was fuming, lmao.
"THIEF!! SOMEONE, HELP!"
• Aight, geez, made you run a marathon there.
• The next time you've met, all three were together and they saw you roasting some lavender melon in some dilapidated tent you found while walking aimlessly. Hey, better than no shelter at all. For some unfathomable reason, your inventory only consists of food materials - with everything, and I mean everything, missing.
• God damn. It's like the heaven is telling you something. 🙄
• Anyways, yeah. So for some reason, the only access to the goddamn ingredients are locked, and you can't use it and you don't know when you would be able to use it, so you have to scrounge up whatever pitiful sources you can get.
• Sadly, it's mostly lavender melons.
• Like, you already made several dishes from this and it's really starting to grind on your gears, so you took a dive in one of the caverns and found some meat and was happily grilling it with the melons when the trio came out of nowhere.
"Thief!"
The hell. "I didn't get the sausage, though."
"But you still tried to!"
"I mean, I was dying of hunger, so.. you know."
Julie, bless her heart, gets in between you two. "It's fine, Xudong. They needed help, did they not?"
"But-"
This time, Parvaneh chimes in. "As they've told you, they didn't get anything, so let it go. And you." She points at you with calloused finger. "Who are you?"
That caught you off guard a little. Told them your name and, to Xudong's bewilderment, started chatting amicably with you. Some time later though, he softened a bit but still a little cautious. They traded cooking tips with you, and, to their utmost surprise, you exchanged many tips on cooking as well.
"How do you know all this?" Xudong asked as you finished explaining the difference between sauteing onion and garlic first.
"Oh. I'm uh, a professional chef back in our place. Been years though, so yeah." You replied as you took a bite of their chicken. "Holy shit, why is this so good?"
Julie and Parvaneh just smiled proudly.
• So like, you became a new addition to their team - but you actually specialize in desserts. Xudong has many a great views in cooking, as well as the two ladies, and together you journeyed the whole of Inazuma for rare ingredients and made some two or three journals that have been since published and loved by people. (The fangirling/fanboying is real when you saw Xiangling's message drooling about your own version of Tiramisu).
• One day, however, you lot came across a shrine - it doesn't look abandoned, oddly, but it looks really, really old. You asked them what's the deal with this one, and they explained about the Creator.
Oh.
You're in SAGAU?
Shit.
"People said they've come back, but we don't really know.."
Double shit.
• With that knowledge, you try and avoid the main cities as much as possible and only let the three buy on populated areas. Thank God they didn't really notice you suddenly covering half your face with a mask - which you only shrugged when asked.
"I like masks."
Fair enough, they suppose.
• ..oh fuck, is that Yae Miko?
"Ara, and who is this?"
Xudong, Julie and Parvaneh bows and you hastily followed.
"She is our new companion, Lady Miko."
She looks at you with an impish grin. "Oh?"
Dont act suspicious. Don't act suspicious.
"..yo."
Nice.
• Coming across the main characters from the game are very, VERY rare. You can actually count on one hand the characters you've met:
Yae Miko;
Thoma (he was going around asking for favors as usual and you bump into each other and only had quick apologies as interaction);
Kujou Sara (she was patrolling the area and asked about your mask - which you replied that it's part of your outfit. damn, her glare was fucking menacing!);
Kuki Shinobu (you were side to side buying groceries once), and lastly;
Kamisato Ayato (you actually didn't meet - you just saw him giving speech in a podium for some event you just came across).
• You figured, hey, maybe you're NOT the creator or whatever. And just tried to live normally after some time. The mask stayed though, because you just survived the pandemic back here and was cautious.
• About a year and six months with the team, Xudong suggested you come all to Sumeru to expand your knowledge. Holy shit, yes please!
• ..and then you met the Traveler on your way.
"Your Grace..?"
Triple shit.
😭 sorry for disappearing for about a year - i was too lazy finishing anything. And now, I added another idea not to finish on the list 💀 wrote this whole thing in like 30 minutes motivation really is a wonderful thing, huh?
What if the more the Genshin characters become self aware/try to break the game, the more realistic the game becomes?
Inside Teyvat, the characters realize that they're literally for your entertainment, and kinda (really) go psycho, believing their only purpose is you
So they keep trying to drag you into the game, 'to meet their purpose in life', changing voice lines, send letters, all the good stuff
On your side, their faces keep becoming more detailed, Childe gets freckles, Bennett has little nicks all over his body, and you can see little dragons on Ningguang's jewelry
You obviously get excited, new graphics that don't crash your PC!/hj
But you're still excited, genshin keeps getting all these cool updates, and since you don't have any friends to talk about genshin about, you're none the wiser somethings wrong
Until one day, while playing, your PC crashes
Frustrated you look at the time and figure it's time to go to bed anyways, you can always fix it tomorrow
When you wake up, you're surrounded by faces
"Welcome Your Grace!"
A/N Sorry about the friends comment, but we all know it true TT-TT
SAGAU but with a lazy and always sleepy imposter!creator!reader
reader who is always sleepy and doesn't want to move a muscle. it's like even moving a part of their body is similar to working out in the gym for an hour.
not narcolepsy, reader just doesn't really care and is very lazy to even give two flying fucks to the world
reader doesn't give a shit even if a war breaks out, sleep is life, sleep is important
your genshin characters are always aware that you somehow manage to fall asleep in the middle of the game. well of course, they find it cute
you would play for an hour, then they would hear you yawn, and your soft quiet snores comes next
they love the sounds you create when you sleep, and it also warms their heart to think that you're having a good sleep
it went to the point where aside from building you a statue, they also crafted the most comfortable bed they could ever make. it is created solely for you
so when your imposter descended to your world, they were very happy. they couldn't wait to show you what they have crafted, they also couldn't wait to see how you sleep
it goes without saying that they were slightly disappointed that your imposter didn't really... use the bed they made
like do they even sleep? but their creator loves sleeping right? so why aren't you sleeping?
so when you were first dropped into your own world right infront of your imposter who was seated on a throne, you weren't really shocked. you just hugged your pillow tighter that just mysteriously came with you into this world
even though the archons that you are very familiar with surrounded you, you didn't really give any care
you yawned and made eye contact with each one of the archons, you blinked your sleepy eyes at them to which they reciprocated with a hostile glare
well whatever. though, the ground you are sitting on is very cold! perfect temperature! you suddenly felt sleepy and before Ei can grab you, you laid down on the ground and sleep
after all, sleep is more important, you will just deal with the problems later!
Ei was shocked, very shocked! did you just ignore their presence and continue your sleep!?
oh, but wait, sleep?
oh my archons!
she almost killed their divine creator!
somehow, they already have a feeling that the one sleeping peacefully on the ground is their true divine creator
so who tf is sitting on the throne?
"seize them!" ei commanded to her troops. they all marched inside the palace very loudly, which earned the soldiers a glare from every living archon inside the room
"our divine creator is sleeping, do it quietly!"
"...?" all the soldiers were confused. but their divine creator is clearly awake and is sitting on their throne?
then their gazes all moved to the sleeping person on the ground as if waking them up is considered blasphemy, as if waking them up is the highest sin they can commit and worthy of being beheaded
and so they all quietly yeeted the imposter and quietly watched the archons move their true divine creator to the bed they painstakingly crafted
as soon as your body touched the soft and comfortable material, you let out a satisfied sigh and the whole teyvat rejoiced. they have finally found their true divine creator!
they all listened to your quiet snores and when you woke up hours later, every citizens of teyvat including the abyss celebrated the descension of their true creator.
well, you were too lazy to attend your own banquet so they removed the throne and replaced it with your bed just so you could attend.
Ciaoooo! I don't know if you can consider this as a sagau, but this idea have been stuck in my mind for a month so I decided to just write it!

Sypnosis:
The travelers, Aether and paimon, have stumbled upon a teahouse— a cafe, as the owner hastily corrected him, he visited everyday just to taste your delicious dish and pastries, the owner's cooking and baking skills are out of the world (literally) which is why, they wanted their friends to taste your dishes as well!
Genshin characters x fem!reader.
Part: one, two, three, four, five
"Paimon is so tired and hungry!" The floating companion of the outlander exclaimed, her floating pattern broke into a zigzag to emphasize her current feelings.
Aether shook his head, he is used to paimon's dramatic antics so he didn't pay any mind to his companion and continued walking down the path towards sumeru, they used one of the waypoints on Qingxu pool to avoid the fatuis and lurking enemies.
The path they are following seem to be on the far south of the Qingxu pool, the view from their spot is beautiful and it captures the magnificent scenery of the pool, soon, they passed by an abandoned treasure hoarders' camp.
"Huh? The path vanished!" Paimon exclaimed, her head whipping from left to right as she look around where the path would lead to.
Aether kept quiet and continued walking ahead, exhausted from paimon's antics, but he didn't bother saying anything to avoid offending his little companion's feeling. He let out a sigh under his breath, the travel between the nation of freedom and wisdom is tiring.
Additionally, the waypoints had been acting weird for the past few weeks, it won't let him teleport to the nation's city which is why, he doesn't have a choice but to walk from the border of Liyue to Sumeru.
Each nation had been busy with their own affairs according to the sighting of the divine creator, he's the very first vessel so he could at least tell if the creator did come back to teyvat BUT he didn't feel anything which he came into his own conclusion that a rumor must have been spread by someone to throw the archons into frenzy.
"Aren't you hungry, aether? Why don't we take a break? I can tell that you're also exhausted." Paimon pointed out, but did he listen? Of course not, due to the rumor spreading around about the divine creator, the archons asked for his assistance to venture out.
Besides, he needs to deliver the package he has right now so there's no time for breaks—
What's.. With this sweet fragrance? Aether stopped in his tracks when his nostrils caught an unfamiliar scent of food, his head turned to the right where the smell came from. He didn't know why, but his own feet dragged him towards the direction.
It seems like he wasn't the only one who can smell it, his precious compamion is already flying towards the source of smell and seeing this, it made him let out a scoff under his breath. He kept his eyes on his floating companion as they both went up the hill, they walked up, higher and higher until they can see a... Cottage?
A cottage under a cliff?
What?
Questions swirled inside of the traveler's head, the cottage is three story high? Wait, no, it's probably two, it's space almost taken almost all the space under the cliff which made him anxious.
What if the rocks collapse and fall onto the abode infront of him? It's not safe to build anything under a cliff, but surely, the owner thinks otherwise.
"Aether! Aether! Look!" Paimon called out, waving her right hand towards the mentioned man while her left hand is pointing towards the cottage that he had just saw, "Something smell good is coming over there! Why don't we take a look?"
The traveler opened his mouth, but got startled when he heard a soft voice from behind him.
"Are you guys hungry?" The voice sounded so gentle, a little deep, but sounded feminine nonetheless— it was weird though, he can feel goosebumps across his back up to his spine.
He slowly turned his head to look at the owner of the voice, the presence of the said person doesn't make him uncomfortable, but it makes him want to kneel and apologize for his behaviour.
The reason for that? He doesn't know why.
"Hmm, if you don't hurry up, you might pass out from the heat and fatigued." You informed Aether, your smile slightly forced due to the excitement building up inside of you. The twin of your chosen traveler is right in front of you! Why won't you get excited?
"Woah! Paimon thinks you're beautiful!" A sudden compliment came from the floating companion, snapping Aether from his inner turmoil.
He cleared his throat and moved aside to let you go first, his eyes landed on the two baskets you're carrying from both hands and he silently asked to help you.
"I can do it." You smiled at him and walked passed the astonished male, the heel of your boots made a noise against the cobblestone stairs of your cafe, "Please come inside, I'll serve you two some delicacies and drinks."
Reluctantly, the traveler followed you inside of the cottage, paimon's amazed gasped made you smile wider.
"How'd you like the place? Is it comfortable?" You inquired, you placed the basket on the counter and took two menus under the counter before gesturing for them to take a seat.
"It's amazing! It's really cozy and the smell.. It's sweet!" Paimon answered you, not minding if Aether has been quiet the whole time, "And what's that? What is this place?"
"This, is the menu." You said as you gave her the menu and slid the other menu towards Aether, "This place is my cafe." You stated with open arms, seemingly proud of your beloved abode.
"Do you have anyone working for you?" Aether finally spoke up, his eyes scanning the menu on his hand.
"The answer to that is, no." You hummed, taking note that he seem quite suspicious and cautious of you— you understand though, you would also be suspicious of a place that is located under a cliff on the border of a nation.
You just happen to be lucky and unlucky at the same time.
"I see.." He didn't say anything after that, opting to scan through the menu on a food he would like to eat, "Uh, how do you pronounce this?" He pointed at the specialized dish on the paper.
"Adobo." You uttered, your eyes staring straight into the different kinds of cooked food under the mentioned dish.
"Adobo?" Paimon repeated after you, "Then is this pronounced as manok?" She pointed the word next and you nodded your head, happy that they can pronounce some words from your world quite easily.
"Oooh! Then I want the adobo manok!" The floating companion stated, her pronunciation messing up a little bit due to the foreign sound of the word.
"It's adobong manok, miss." You corrected gently, "What about you, traveler?"
"I'll go with what paimon ordered as well." He sweatdropped, scratching the back of his head as he handed the menu back to you, somehow, he did not want to embarrass himself in front of you.
He doesn't know why though.
"Two adobong manok it is, what about the drink?"
"Paimon wants anything you'd recommend!" Came a cheerful reply, the traveler nodded his head, not wanting to speak any further to avoid stuttering and messing up.
"As you wish."
A couple of days had passed ever since Aether and Paimon had stopped by your cafe, the two of them liked your cooking from your previous world so they kept stopping by your cafe every single day to taste different kind of dish which made you happy and enthusiastic.
Your little cafe didn't get much customer just as you had expected, a couple of non-playable character had visited to buy some food or they are just curious, some even just accidentally found your humble cafe, you are more than satisfied that you're still receiving customers, besides, it's not like you're anticipating for one of the playable citizens from each nations to visit your shop anyways.
The sound of bell ringing from the front had brought you out of your thoughts, it indicated that a customer had walked in.
"I'll be there in a second!" You called out from the kitchen using the element of anemo to carry the sound of your voice towards the customers, the element of hydro is used to fill up the kettle with water and you used the element of pyro to light up the charcoals before placing the kettle above the fire.
You made sure to wash your hand with hydro particles that are floating around the kitchen before scurrying out of the room, you quickly closed the door behind you as you stepped out.
"Miss (name)!" The high-pitched voice that belongs to paimon had called out for you, "We brought some friends!"
You chuckled and grabbed five menus under the counter and approached the group of your beloved customers, although, your smile almost dropped when you saw the anemo and geo archon sitting across each other with the dendro archon and the traveler sitting across each other as well.
What the hell are they doing here?!
You might not have expect the citizens of cities to visit your shop.. Then you certainly did NOT expect for their archons to visit your small and humble cafe.
