nahyuta isn't good with talking openly about his feelings. he usually lets them eat himself up from the inside, until it becomes unbearable for him. and even then, he keeps quiet about them
the problem is, nahyuta is also a very jealous person. he wouldn't easily admit to that, but it's pretty obvious, just by the way he acts
he stares at other men who talk to you, even if it's a colleague or friend. but if it's a guy who's actually flirting with you, it's even worse. he'll interrupt the conversation and stare him down, advising him to leave you alone
no matter if he's dating you or not, he'll get overly jealous. but during the time you're not a couple, he would never admit to his jealousy! but once you are dating, he might eventually admit he's jealous
nahyuta would never act out while jealous. he's not the type to yell or start a fight. but he's a quiet type of jealous person, that makes it seem like he could do more when upset than what he would actually do
summary: your first encounter with nahyuta outside of the courtroom leads to a heated argument... and a heated kiss!

“if it isn't prosecutor sahdmadhi…”
nahyuta hated the way you said his name. and it didn't help that you refused to address him by anything but his last name.
“ah, you're that defense attorney…”
nahyuta forced a fake smile on his lips as he turned around to face you. the two of you had met a few times before, but always just in court. this was the first time you two talked outside of the courtroom. and yet, you couldn't leave your little rivalry behind.
“i have a name, you know?”
for just a second, the hint of a real smile showed on nahyuta's face. judging by the tone of your voice, you were offended that he forgot your name. though there was no way he could ever forget anything about you.
“apologies, it must've slipped my mind…”
you gritted your teeth at his words. nahyuta seemingly knew how to rile you up, inside and outside of the courtroom.
“perhaps that's why you keep losing all your cases. with a memory like that, it's no wonder…”
nahyuta almost choked on air when he heard your words. while he was startled for a moment, he quickly was ready to add more oil to the fire.
“as if you'd know anything about winning yourself. as far as i recall, you were needing the assistance of your colleagues during those cases!”
the two of you had dropped the nice act by now, leaning closer with each sentence, while glaring at each other.
“at least i have people by my side! what about you, mr. sahdmadhi? where are all your friends?”
“i am well liked back in khura'in, you know? it's just you who can't appreciate me being around!”
“well, why don't you just go back to khura'in then? i'm sure that–”
“oh, just shut up and kiss me–!”
before you could let his words sink in, nahyuta had grabbed you by the collar of your shirt and pressed his lips against yours. you blinked surprised, before closing your eyes and simply letting it happen. somehow, this felt… rather nice.
“n-nahyuta…”
when he pulled away again, your cheeks had taken on a pinkish tone. nahyuta seemed much more composed and rather satisfied that you finally used his first name.
I don’t know what’s more redonk: Apollo being the only defense lawyer in all of Khura'in, or Nahyuta still actively prosecuting cases while also ruling as Prince Regent over an entire nation. Boys, go to SLEEP!
There’s this sibling theme in the Khura’in royal family, starting with the Holy Mother and Lady Kee'ra, of the pure and holy spirit channeler on the one hand and the bloody and violent dispenser of justice on the other. Amara and Ga’ran, as Queen and Minister of Justice respectively, are like a twisted version of this, with Amara’s trust and passivity being her downfall, and Ga’ran being a bloodthirsty tyrant who tried and failed to be both archetypes at once.
My main point is that now we have Nahyuta and Rayfa as the regal siblings, and Nahyuta is this calm and composed, white-and-gold-clad monk, while Rayfa is an angry little head-bopping shit. But! HE’S the prosecutor aka the dispenser of justice, and SHE’S the spirit medium who’s outright forbidden from having anything to do with Lady Kee’ra.
Can you imagine someone looking at the two of them and then turning to Nahyuta like “I guess you’re the nice one, huh?”

Also imagine Apollo who has spent YEARS with that 'shoutout to all big sisters whose baby brothers got taller than them' post in his head, thinking that if he ever meets Nahyuta again it'll be nice to finally be at least on eye-level with her, and then she shows up in Los Tokyos and is like five ten-and-a-half
It’s Apollo’s fate in life to forever be small and bitter.

Yeah, I like him, but I feel like I had to do most of the work there
Also, should’ve been a girl. I mean, one of the last three prosecutors should’ve been a girl anyway (is ‘one per trilogy’ so hard to keep up, Capcom) but Nahyuta especially, bc to keep the plot intact she can’t have channeling power, so we’d get a fresh new take where “older sister can’t channel” leads to “grim self-sacrifice”, instead of “lots and lots of murder”, like it did every other time
Weren’t they, at some point in development, thinking of letting the player decide Nahyuta’s gender? That might have been neat. He does have mild form of spiritual power with the beads of constriction, after all.
I guess we do technically have a female prosecutor in this game too, what with Ga’ran. She just happens to be the WORST.
