Okay here's my sahsol delusional hour.

KSE will still end up giving Saheon an item (maybe not the glasses but something he find later with less side effect) even tho he knows at this point Saheon is not doing it for the item. It's not like there's anything else he can give him besides his thanks.

Instead of accepting the easy illusion of keeping things transactional what if Saheon rejects it and then digs out his prothetic eye and the necromomicon and tells KSE "I'll give these back to you… so…" but even then he doesn't quite know what he's asking for. He wants KSE to treat him like someone he doesn't have to buy off.

Meanwhile KSE is like "oh my god put your eye back in?? What am i suppose to do with this??"

Okay, genuinely with the way KSE and BSH are acting, I’m lowk almost getting second hand embarrassment for both of them. BSH keeps acting concerned for KSE in a roundabout way, but because KSE has no idea what this guy’s doing he’s just like, “huh??” THEY’RE SO AWKWARD

Also KSE’s so funny because why is he still vague posting about his knowledge of darknesses after all this time? This guy has already given up on trying to pass off his information as inferences or good guesses, so how come he’s still saying stuff like “they don’t know the side effects…” or “this isn’t what they think this is…” I THOUGHT YOU GAVE UP ON TRYING TO SCARE BSH??

Okay but seriously, BSH is a very roundabout character is general. He never says things in a straightforward manner unless he has to. He’s the type of guy to corner others with his words, he just lost to KSE so much in the past because KSE’s better than him at it. Guy who’s an older sibling vs Guy who’s a younger sibling lmao. Even now when he’s trying to help KSE, he defaults to trying to threaten him or downplay his actions, because he either:

Doesn’t want to admit to his concerns due to his own attachment to his current character

Doesn’t understand how to make KSE take him seriously

Doesn’t even understand his own actions at the moment either!!

BSH grew up in an environment where caring for others cost too much, either emotionally or physically. He doesn’t understand how to handle caring about someone who isn’t himself, and even when he tries, he’s as exclusive with it as he is with himself too.

When BSH got angry with KSE for telling JNS about the pill, I’m sure part of it was very likely because he wanted KSE to trust exclusively him, or something similar. More so though, it’s because getting angry with him was his first reaction to showing concern for KSE. You can’t just share that information with anyone!

I don’t really think KSE is currently that stuck on BSH’s image of Viper that much at the moment either, despite what we may think. KSE rn is at a point where he’s accepting his desire to interact with the people in the “DER world” as actual people he wants to get to know and stay connected to. We can see in the past when we knew KSE viewed BSH as “the scary guy who’ll become Viper in the future,” he was very serious in maintaining whatever image that he constructed at the time.

Compared to now, it’s like a complete 180 in his behavior. He outwardly admits that he’s glad that BSH is doing well, not minding his previous image completely collapsing and behaving with BSH like, I don’t even know, himself? I saw someone mention, I don’t remember who, the text messages at the beginning of the novel between KSE’s and his friends (the ones where they’re dunking on KSE for turning down his crush’s horror movie date lol), and like

That bantering relationship is literally what KSE and BSH have right now?? KSE has literally just decided to treat him normally???? Like

BSH is so unlucky because the first person he shows concern for outside of himself is the person who has the strongest defenses against taking others concerns for him seriously 😭😭
