Saint Philip's Church

The Saint Philip's Church is located on Church Street in Charleston, South Carolina. The church was established in 1680, ten years after the colony of Charles Town was established, and has been at its current location since 1710. George W. Johnson, a photographer who took photographs of Charleston's architecture, took this photo of St. Philip's interior in 1930.

Held in the George W. Johnson Collection at the Gibbs Museum of Art.

my old school

i don't know what happened after we left. they all lost the plot. like i dont even know whats happening. are they retarded. i just watched the 'open learning' video they put up today.

"oh lets give all the kids macbooks with internet and let them lie on the floor and listen to music while they work and sit in groups with their friends and get rid of the bells and bell times and call things 'sessions' so that it doesnt feel so constricted and limited and forced so that everyone just relaxes and does whatever the hell they want but HEY that's how it is in the ~real world~ so surely it will teach them about how to live life on the outside as ~real people~ because the world uses technology now so lets give them all every bit of distracting technology ever so that they feel 'at home' while at school because TWENTY FIRST CENTURY."

great idea guys.

remember how you always had to stop us from playing games? on computers? and talking to people? you just increased the probability of ALL of that. i dont know that you realize but you're dealing with TEENAGERS and if given technology they will use it for purposes entirely unrelated to learning because most of them hate school anyway and dont want to be there. give them something fun, they take advantage of it. i know because IVE DONE IT.

i am facepalming so much right now.

and cannot be gladder that i got out of there before this happened.
