February 3rd - Out in Brum after completing a rush job, this made me smile - near St Philips cathedral, a hybrid electric car, a Mitsubishi Outlander - being charged at a public charging point. 

First time I’ve ever seen that and it filled me with optimism for the future. 

Nice car, too.

Well I think I had a pretty successful Christmas Eve service at my new parish last night! The church was packed and I think my organ playing was pretty spot on. I even used the chimes during Silent Night and afterwards one woman told me I'm making the organ do things they didn't know it could do so that's a good reaction I think. Also I successfully got together a small choir to sing In The Bleak Midwinter after communion; it was only five singers plus me on the piano, but for only having two rehearsals I think we sounded nice and I think the congregation was enthusiastic about it!
