im an ex-mormon who was stuck in that mess for 18 years and that’s... definitely not a typical belief? that said i can see how mormons might be more likely to independently believe the moon landing was faked bc their whole worldview is based on believing nonsense lol

i was listening to a podcast about an FLDS like... compound. idk what the difference is between lds or flds but it mentioned that a girl involved had gone to public school for first grade before her parents put her in the Mormon School and when she went to Mormon School she mentioned that astronauts had visited her class in public school and she got sent to the principal's office and told to never talk about that again because god wouldn't put man on the moon or w/e

it’s me again i see u would like some stenbrough fluff? just think about the boys going birdwatching together. stan pointing out different birds and teaching bill how to identify them, sitting close to pass a pair of binoculars back and forth. bill watching stan talk in enthusiastic but hushed tones, completely enamored. that’s all :’)

this is so precious, the little light grips on bills wrist as he’s trying to point out birds to him. stans completely overjoyed to show off his knowledge and pick out the prettiest ones for bill to see, but all bill wants to do is look at him. the whole ‘he was pointing at the moon, but i was looking at his hand’ of it all! stan doesn’t even notice that bills more focused on him because he’s so caught up in telling him about what they’re seeing and how he knows it’s a cerulean warbler that nothing else matters

MOOD it literally just feels like being wrapped in a blanket every single time and i keep making friends to watch it with me bc they gotta Experience it too

i always love watching people’s reactions to stuff in the movie that isn’t always obvious at first, like the opening scene where milo is laying in the bathtub or what exactly happened between rich and milo in the past. and yes ur right that’s exactly what it feels like <3

stenbrough angst?? oh boy where do i start. bill’s family moves out of derry and he promises stan that he’ll call at least every week, but the fog settles quickly over his memories, and for months stan jumps every time the phone rings but it’s never bill on the other line. bill unconsciously sketching birds in the corner of his pages and not knowing why he can draw blue jays and sparrows from memory or why the sight of them makes his chest ache.

oh this . i’m 🥺 you get it 1000% . plus obviously they don’t know that the amnesia is happening, so stans just stuck feeling like bill couldn’t wait to get rid of him /:
