okay i finally put down all my thoughts about 2nd gen immigrant kiddos eddie and richie

eddie’s mom is puerto rican and his dad is from la república dominicana, but he died when eddie was a baby so he’s not super in touch with that side of himself

very very catholic household. church every sunday and prayer every day

eddie wears his lil cross necklace all the time

he’s very in touch with his PR side, and almost every morning he wakes up to sonia playing jíbaro music while she cleans

learned spanish before he learned english, but since he’s lived in the US since he was little he has more of a lilt than an accent

eddie loves to cook! he makes a mean mofongo, and he makes tres leches cakes for his friend’s birthdays

sonia does Not want him being friends with non puerto ricans, but unfortunately she can’t do anything about who he chooses to associate himself with

that being said, he is friends with another kid with an immigrant parent- richie tozier

richie’s dad is american, but his mom is korean

he’s lived in the US his whole life but he’s super in touch with his korean side bc his parents have the money to go every summer

he can read, write and understand korean but he’s AWFUL at speaking it

he thinks that listening to eddie speak spanish is the prettiest noise he’s ever heard

can’t cook to save his life, but eddie learns how to make korean dishes from maggie anyways

they also find out that eddie is allergic to kimchi this way, which is a sad day for everyone
