Saiph

Saiph is a fiery young man who has been in the Nova Stella guild for pretty much his whole life. He was an orphan who was taken in by the guild as a baby, so has a very strong passion for his place in it.

Appearance

Saiph has a pale complexion and a lean, muscular build with defined abs and broad shoulders. His hair is tousled and mostly strawberry blond, with a bold red fringe sweeping slightly over one eye. His eyes are red, matching the dominant color in his outfit. He wears a sleeveless black cropped top with a high collar, and a cropped jacket with a red flame design on the sides. As well as matching, baggy black pants helped up by a red sash with a gold flame-shaped design. His boots are detailed with gold platform soles. His wrists are hidden under a black piece of fabric, and gold spiked cuffs. He wears black huggie earrings.

Personality

Saiph is loud and loyal, the kind of guy who's defined by bravado. Due to his passionate enthusiasm, Saiph can appear to be overwhelmingly friendly, and quite loud. He’s always dialed to 100- incredibly hot-headed and impulsive, quick to jump to extremes and rush into danger. Under the noise, there's an anger he's learned to point inwards- He blames himself for past failures and future ones he hasn’t even made yet, until it all explodes outwards. That self-blame shows up as overtraining, a lack of care for his safety, and a reflex to handle every burden that comes his way. Because he believes that's where proof of his masculinity is. He positions himself as a protector, ashamed to need protection in turn. Behind the theatrics, Saiph is a deeply insecure and troubled person. And he’ll be your best friend, if you let him.

History

Saiph was left at Nova Stella’s doorstep as an infant, and grew up in the guildhall under Venus’s care. He would bond closely with his guild family, especially Mira, who was close in age. Saiph took on the role of a protective older sibling, and a tough, swaggering “tomboy” through childhood. His lack of femininity wasn’t something he questioned as a young kid, it was normal. Though by the time he started to hit puberty, there was a distinct otherness. His tomboyishness was no longer seen as “cute” and he would be teased by other kids in town. His personality back then was quite different- he was mean. Angry and mean, all the time, constantly, and he didn’t know why. He came out as a trans boy at thirteen, backed by the guild’s acceptance, though he avoided the town for a while. Through his later teens he cut his teeth on missions, maturing from scrappy tomboy to Nova Stella’s "Phoenix Sword.”

Ethos: Outburst

When Saiph draws his sword he becomes engulfed in flames, which he is also able to control. Drawing the sword is a trigger that gates both power and risk- this state is volatile and risks his self-control, so he keeps his sword sheathed until it seems absolutely necessary to draw his blade.

Notes

Outside of the guild he’s known by the epithet “The phoenix sword/swordsmen.” It’s a title earned by his reputation of property damage.

He’s incredibly persistent on the notion that 5-foot-seven is NOT short, just below average, and that there’s a difference. He’s constantly one person challenging him on this away from snapping.

He won’t take off those wrist cuffs.

He likes to cook, campfires and grills are his specialty. He’ll also eat pretty much anything.

The name “Saiph” comes from a star in the Orion constellation which literally translates to “sword.”

Many moons ago, before more canon demon races were revealed, I had introduced my psychosis demon OC, Saiph. Since that time, a lot has changed with how I wanted their character to look, act, behave, etc...

💫 REINTRODUCTION TIME 💫

Facts about Saiph:

• Saiph, meaning 'sword', is a star located in the constellation of Orion

• Saiph is also selectively mute! They’ll communicate telepathically only if truly necessary

• Their original dorky Serenity Daemon personality, pre-sovereign tampering (read below), shows itself much more once they satiate their hunger/post-feeding

• Xe have a special interest in planets and celestial bodies so much so that xer “nest” is in an abandoned observatory, cloaked behind a ward so that it isn’t at risk of humans rediscovering it

• Saiph is one of the more gentle of the Psychosis Daemons, however still incredibly dangerous, especially when hungry bro they’ll fucking kill you

• Why, yes! After they feed, they do feel guilty for being a literal murderer once it’s said and done! Only for The Hunger to take hold again and then they don’t care who they gotta kill, so long as they get to eat! It’s tragic!

• The kind of mf that curiously cocks it’s head when listing to you speak

• NO SHOES !! FEELS YUCK !!

• They’ll make sure that the last thing you see before you die are the stars sparkling above, the ones of which they believe all living things have come from. It’s their inner conscious’s twisted version of showing it’s prey mercy during their final moments

Here's how the inner-workings of how my Psychosis Daemons work:

• Psychosis demons, also referred to as Nightcrawlers, feed from the inherent feelings of delirium, psychosis (obvi), and hysteria

• This is a hostile sub-class of daemon, though not necessarily by choice

• The Sovereigns toyed and experimented with Serenity Daemons in a similar vein to how they once did with Concubi, corrupting and warping the peace-seekers into its antithesis— into something so violently obsessed and aggressive in finding their picture of perfect and 'divine serenity' that they spiraled and drove themselves into an enraged madness

• Thus classifies them as a sub-class to Serenity Daemons, so they get to keep the (a) in their Daemon title. Nightcrawlers did not coalesce— they were forged, making them only a handful in numbers and very old beings

• They were initially experimented on with the intent of being forged into unrelenting weapons for the Sovereigns to use during the Cacophony

• Psychosis Daemons often appear to look starved and malnourished, their physical bodies reflecting how that their dietary demands are hardly ever satiated

• The shape of their horns represent sharks teeth, because the teeth of a shark are angled inwards in such a way that it's nearly impossible for prey to pull free from its jaws once bitten. Once these Daemons have its grip on you, you’re done for.

• There are so very few existing Nightcrawlers that they used to be practically considered a myth until modern Department technology was able to better track and contain them for research purposes. D.U.M.P. has aptly given this subclass its name, as the majority of documented Nightcrawler feeding patterns display nocturnal behavior

• Saiph's kind is extremely patient and meticulous when picking their meals, so rather than feeding from a gathering of people in a single passing go, this race modifies one single human's memory by implementing overwhelming senses of deja-vu and confusion into their minds. This piques their curiosity, which then lures the human into the Daemon’s “nest” while kept in a trance-like delusion

• They literally stalk their prey before Getting You

• Nightcrawlers keep their prey around for the rest of the duration of the human's life as a thrall of sorts, because the further into delirium the person strays, the stronger the emotions these demons can feed from

• The human's worsening psychosis provides such a substantial amount of emotions that only one person is needed to feed, a 'mate-for-life' type of relationship. However, between their aggressive feeding habits, tendency to push the human mind too far, as well as the intensity and obsessive frequency at which they feed, the person's life is often cut extremely short. Then the cycle begins again.

Sonic 33rd Anniversary (2024)

So this one was made, as obviously stated, for Sonic's 33rd Anniversary. Less babies this time around, because they're just the ones that got added to the already massive roster from the previous drawing. It's also a smaller drawing, so everyone is a tad bit less detailed, but I'm still happy with how it came out. Keep on reading to learn more about the beans!

Okay, so clearly they're not numbered, so we're gonna have to get a bit more descriptive this time around. So bare with me here.

Angelite!Sonic The one with the big, fluffy white wings. Frankly he's mostly just a Sonic design, but I do have vague ideas of what his story would be about, particularly dealing with a magic Angelite gemstone and possibly a war.

LittleNightmares!Sonic(s) The giant, weird looking Sonic + the little guy with a glowing flower crown beside him. Both of them are for a potential Little Nightmares crossover. I have some ideas, but I'm refraining from making a concrete story until the third game is out. But they do have names! Big guy is Urso, and lil' guy is Bottle.

Silenced The white wolf. Yeah, that's Sonic. From a story in which Sonic sells his identity to secure a happy ending for his friends, and in the process is cursed to always be forgotten. His name becomes Olive Mallory, and where the story ended, he never got a happy ending. Olive is a Relic! So you can actually ask him things! I'm sure he'll be happy to be asked things and be remembered.

Two Motes of Golden Light Another design for this series! The original was really just tied to Koco Logs, but this one is unique to the series. (Although I did mess up while coloring him, and his eyes should be brown)

Hydrocity (As in Velocity) The Sonic with the tall black boots. My Sonic x Subnautica crossover!

GreenWorld!Sonic The Sonic in the black cloak. A Sonic AU inspired by this beautiful animation. But centuries after most of his friends have passed on, Sonic is still there. As the Emerald's chosen, as their favorite, as their vessel in a world were their power reaches less and less people, he remains, undying and unwilling. Unsure if I'll do more with him, but he's here.

Fountain of Youth The dragon Sonic! Also part of my silly little "let's see how much trauma and how many transformations I can fit in this bad boy" series, Eggman's discovery of an ancient curse leaves Sonic... a little different than usual.

It's Not About Romance The Sonic in the green cloak. Part of series I'll write eventually, with a vampire and werewolf scenario. Except it's not Sonadow, or Sonamy, or Shadamy, or whatever ship is usually the focus of vampire/werewolf AUs. Nothing against those ships, is just that I really want to see the concept explored not as a romance but as an adventure. (Thus the series name).

Gilded Gold The Super Sonic taking a lil' nap. Part of a story I'm writing with @azthedragon. It's been super fun so far! I wanna say more, but spoilers shall keep me quiet.

Internal Turmoil The glowing colorful gaggle in the lower right corner. Back again is the Inside Out AU, but with Sonic's new emotions! Anxiety, Apathy, Shame, and Envy. But it's Sonic the Hedgehog, so they surely just sit back and don't do much of anything.

Saiph Saiph! Saiph! In the middle of the image is Saiph! A spin-off of my PsyChlo AU (from 2023, if you remember), he's a version of PsyChlo that got adopted and pulled out of his bad situation. Who adopted him? Why Beetlejuice, of course. Saiph originated from a roleplay with my friend @sad-catbrick, and he's kinda of an icon, so I couldn't not include him.
