Loyal spies are such great characters.

Spies who make friends on the other side, find love, discover that this place is everything they ever wanted, anything, but who can't simply turn around and stay there.

Spies who can't just betray their people because they were there for them when they needed them. Spies who were given a family, friends, a purpose, a place to belong for the first time and they embraced it. Spies who can't just turn away from the ones who gave them what they needed, even if they found a place that gives them the same, and makes them happier too.

"Even if it makes them suffer?"

Especially if it makes them suffer. If it puts them in a place of having to question everything they believe in. If it makes them hesitate in a crucial moment of the final fight, leading to their defeat. If it makes them drop their masks and cry in front of their friend, because they can't simply walk over to them and take their hand.
