About Faking It: I'm kind of... not pro, but also not completely against it? I'm mostly really curious as to what the main response will be. Like, will we be looking at this tv series back when we grow up and say 'oh yes, this was so ahead of its times, the history of the rights sped up after this"? Or will it be just a useless jump into the void with unwanted, misunderstanding reactions? Most probably the second, but I'm really curious as to how this plays out.

No, I totally get you. It's just very...I don't know how to explain it. For instance if this were a piece of fiction in which it was a dystopian universe in which homophobia was no longer an issue and -- argh. Words.

What I'm trying to say is that, I feel that this show would not be held in a yes actual success, achieved through years of struggle for equality "post-homophobia" universe (which I hope the future will hold), more rather a white gay male idealistic homophobia eradication universe. You can just see the kind of misogynistic comedy that will be used in the show "straight guys LOVE lesbians"! It just reeks of Ryan Murphy-esque white gay male pain.

Either way, I think I might watch it simply to see if it is the crash-and-burn fuck me this is so so so offensive and cringeworthy show I think it'll be. 

Best case scenario: I'm totally wrong and it's actually a great step forward.

Like, I don't know, an expression of joy. If someone shows you a film and is like "dude this is great" and you're skeptical and then you watch it and you really like it...what would you say then? The only English comparison I can think of is "fuck me sideways" hahah.
