*doing laundry and finds a piece of lingerie. Confused, he waslks out of the laundry room. Looking for Auden, but sees noella.* Hey Ella, you know where Auden is?

Auden had gotten up to buy something from the vending machine. Oliver had gone into surgery, Noella was stable, Emerson had finally fallen asleep. Auden wished she could say it was her conviction-skills, but it had more to do with utter exhaustion than anything Auden did. Everything was all quiet on the hospital front. Which is why when a nurse rushed up to Auden, started tugging on her arm and saying things like "critical condition" in the same sentence as Noella's name, she didn't have the mindset to remember her promise to Emerson.

Auden stumbled into the room with rushing hospital employees and the girl she hardly knew, "What do you expect me to do?" she asked out loud from the seat they'd set her down in. 

"We're losing her, just...comfort her. It could help," said one off the nurses.  Auden hesitated, then took her had, still very unsure of it all, "Perhaps talk to her?"

Auden looked at them all like they were crazy, but since they were all so busy, none seemed to notice. After waiting a moment Auden scooted closer and tucked some stray hair behind her ear, "Hey...Noella...uhm..." she glanced around, still no one was paying attention, "I don't actually know you that well...probably the least qualified person to be here. Talking to you..." Auden shifted uncomfortably. She'd seen many movies where people did things like this. Tried to talk to an unresponsive bodies in hopes to wake them up, make them better or stronger. Preferably both. But Auden hadn't ever done this. Oswald was dead when he got to the hospital, so she never got a chance to say anything to him with the hope that maybe he'd live. She had no idea what she'd've said to him had she got the chance--and she actually knew Oswald very closely. What was she supposed to say now?

Then she remembered one of the few times Noella and Auden had talked by themselves. It was the first time they met, "Remember when we first met? First thing we discussed was Oswald. You...You just knew. You have a real gift for that. I was a total skeptic of ghost, spirits...all of that. But now I'm a believer. So thanks, for helping me with Oswald," she paused, making sure no one was listening. No one was, "But here's the thing you don't know, Noella. It's not just ghosts and spirits that you have a way with. It's living people too," the nurses plunged something into Noella's chest and starts drawing blood from her lungs, "Emerson is better with you in his life. He had this...lightness to him once the initial shock of having a sister settled...I try...I really do try my best to keep him happy, to be his family, but I'm not enough. He needs you. Your mum and dad...they can be very hard on him, so...to have you...who...doesn't ask him for a lot, who doesn't expect him to be something he isn't...it's really good for him. And...without you I don't know what's going to happen. I'm...scared to find out..." they keep drawing blood, it seemed like more than her lungs could even hold, "And then there's Oliver. You...you can't die when he's almost done with his surgery. He needs to see you, alive," she glanced up at Noella's monitors. She was nearly flat-lined Probably drowning in her own blood. Auden growled and gave a squeeze into Noella's hand, "Come on already!" he nearly shouted, not that anyone had noticed. They were too busy rushing about, trying to fix Noella' s dying body, "I'm doing my best to be sensitive now and all I get is you dying? Not on my watch! You want to hear the hard truth? Here it is: you're letting yourself die. There is is. It's like you're not even trying to stay alive. You have all of these people looking out for you, trying o keep you alive because they love you. And you're just letting it go to waste," Auden dropped Noella's hand. She'd never been very logical about death, "I know you want to live. Deep down you do. All the bullshit about letting things happen? Fuck that!  If you're going to let your whole life be ruled by "fate", then it's gonna suck and it's going to just get all screwed up. You want something? Then you go after it--take it if you have to. Because there's nobody in this world that's going to do that for you," She was so into her rant that she hadn't even noticed that Noella's heart-rate monitor was getting stronger, "All that bad stuff you're thinking about? Anything that's making you not give all the fight you have? Just put it in a box. You put it in that box and you leave it there. Now  is the time to fight--because it's literally for your own life. Fight until there is nothing left. Because people love you. And if that's not worth fighting for, then I don't know what is,"

"She's getting stronger," one of the nurses called out, seemingly very surprised.

Auden nodded to Noella, who still had her eyes shut, "That's what I thought,"

"And that one there, that’s Canis Major, otherwise known as Sirius, the dog star." Emerson said, pointing up to the stars. Noella tilted her head as she looked at them. "I know you told me you spent most of your time outside-""They’re pretty." Noella said softly. She reached up and pointed. "There’s a few stars that are shaped like a W. Are those a thing?""Yeah, it’s Cassiopeia. it was named after Queen Cassiopeia in Greek mythology, She was a vain quuen who used to boast about her and her daughters beauty, claiming they were more beautiful than the sea nymphs.  As punishment, she was forced to wheel around the North Celestial Pole on her throne, spending half of her time clinging to it so she does not fall off, and Poseidon decreed that Andromeda should be bound to a rock as prey for the monster Cetus, who was ravishing the Ethiopian coast. Andromeda was then rescued by the hero Perseus, whom she later married, but that’s a different story.” Emerson laughed. “Cassiopeia was my favorite when I was little cause it was fun to say.” Noella nodded and Emerson swore she had a small smile on her face."What’s that one." She asked, pointing up. Emerson laughed and looked up.

Emerson glanced behind him, holding onto his sisters hands as the two ran through the woods, looking for some cover. They had decided earlier to go on a walk through the woods, to talk and bond or whatever when the sky opened up on the siblings. So the two were currently running through the woods trying to find a place to hide."Over here!" Noella called over the howling wind and jerking his hand to the right. She dragged him into a cave. "Bet you’ve never stayed in a cave before.""No I haven’t." He said shaking his head with a small smile. "Well you show me what to do." He told Noella, who nodded.

Emerson lay in bed, nearly asleep when he heard it. It was a small scream. Cassie was on a vacation with her friends and Remy’s brother was in town so neither of the other girls were home. He sat up, wanting to make sure what he heard was real. There it was again. A scream. Emerson jumped out of bed and ran, right down the hall to where Noella’s bedroom was. He was about to knock on the door, when she screamed again. Afraid someone was in there hurting his sister, Emerson threw open the door. However all he found was Noella thrashing around in bed, like she was having a bad dream. He rushed over to her and sat down on the side of her bed. He began to shake her slightly. “noella. Ella. Noella.” He said softly, trying to wake her. Finally she opened her eyes and looked about wildly before her eyes landed on him. She grabbed him into a bone crunching hug. Emerson hugged her back, slowly rubbing her back, trying to help her calm down.
