Sal would make a great dad and you can't change my mind!

Sal likely had a rough childhood since his mom died, considering his dad's alcoholism. He also has anxiety and depression. None of this is his fault at all.

Some things are beyond his control, but what he CAN control is how he treats others. He could've been a total ass like Travis, but he didn't because he chose not to be.

Raising kids can be stressful, but how their parents treat them is within the parents' control.

If Sal ever became a dad, he would try his best to raise his kids and be a good dad to them.

He would NEVER hit them because wtf kind of parent does that?!

He would try not to raise his voice when scolding his kid for misbehaving or worrying him. If that does happen, it would be an honest mistake and he would apologize.

No child should ever have to be scared of their parents, and Sal would know that.
