ok on the topic of that zombie/infection apocalypse au, i think rewrite would be the cult leader. his realm is all made up of him, so he could make it pretty hard to get to him and anyone inside it, forcing some hands when the infection starts to spread. you can see how this would be bad for a number of reasons

Shadow's victims will be Silver, Blaze and Metal Sonic.

Silver will be strangled and hanged, Blaze will be crushed, Metal will be ground in an incinerator or drowned.
