Millie's sister Sallie May is both a lovable character and a great example of representation in media. The fact that Sally is transgender isn't relevant to the story, so it is never brought up; but it isn’t hidden from the viewers either. Compare this to shows that overemphasize the gender and sexuality of the character, to the detriment of both the story and the character.

I don’t typically ship canon characters with OCs, much less my own. But I decided to have fun with it and drew whatever came to mind.

She’s still holding her close, their chests touching and hips squarely against each other– a pull deep in her lower belly. She can feel her own heart beginning to race, wondering if May can feel it as well when May moves one of her hands up to her face– gently brushing some of her hair back.

It’s a tender gesture, not one that she’s never done before but now it feels different– as if the two of them having no secrets in so many respects has unleashed a different kind of freedom.

A freedom that makes Sally feel brave in an entirely different way.
